1950 Bentley Mk. VI 4¼ litre Standard Steel Sports Saloon Transmission: manualMileage:63069B285GT was delivered in June 1950 to Consul-General Axel Johnson in Sweden straight from the factory and registered in Sweden as EJP-670. In 2007 it was acquired by a Mr. Gavel who made extensive modifications, including removing the original engine and fitting a B60 which was modified to accept a supercharger (photos on file). It was used for long distance touring fitted with an innovative roof rack - now removed as well as an overdrive. The car was also raced and so appeared in the Ray Roberts book 'Special Bentleys and Bentley Specials'. Towards the end of his ownership, Mr Gavel refitted the original engine (by then refurbished) to the car. B285GT was subsequently imported to the UK on the 28th June 2013. This example is presented with new East of England cloth headlining and on new, slightly oversized, tyres (205/80/16) which give a more comfortable ride. All wheels sport chrome and black painted discs in good order with additional spats available and included in this lot. The paintwork, overall, is in good condition although the wheel arches now show light signs of bubbling and corrosion commensurate with its age although nothing needing immediate attention. Both sills appear in good order as does the front and rear bumpers although one rear overrider shows damage. Both headlights uprated to halogen show good chrome and good parabolic reflectors. The with a re-chromed radiator and base-mounted badging near the centre spotlight.Whilst in Sweden, the nearside front wing had a side mounted spare wheel, this wing and bespoke wheel cover is included in the lot. The engine bay shows genuine care lavished upon it. The crankshaft damper has been rebuilt and the vehicle is fitted with a full flow oil filter, a new coil and the original torch still present. Both the engine and engine oil are clean and, we are informed, the oil is changed regularly. The interior has been re-carpeted and edged in leather throughout, including the boot. The door-cappings, dashboard and dash-top walnut veneers all appear to have been renewed and show in good order. The rear seating and all door cards have been recovered and all seating is firm and complete although the front seats do sport aftermarket leather covers. The blind is fully operational as are the Smith dials in the dashboard including the recently rebuilt clock. Inertia reel seat belts have been fitted as well as an additional tachometer plus a discreet panel under the dashboard which includes a USB port, hazard warning lights, overdrive and screen wash. The car is fitted with a towing eye to the front and a discrete tow bar and removable tow hookAdditionally, there is an aftermarket two-speed heater to assist this subtly modernised Bentley, although the original, fully working, unit is still fitted underneath the passenger seat alongside a battery isolator. It is reported to drive well, complete with overdrive, and the modifications certainly point towards and extremely usable example. It is supplied with the original owner's handbook and a complete workshop manual. It is also supplied with a trunk in need of some work and fine leather straps to secure this to the boot lid when dropped down. The car is only for sale due to the owner reducing his collection and will have been driven 100 miles to the auction.

1973 BMW 2002 Baur Convertible Transmission: manualMileage:78805The BMW 2002 series is important in the history of BMW for several reasons; not least of which being that it brought the company out of near bankruptcy in the 1960s and put BMW on the map in the United States. It was the ancestral grandfather to the BMW 3 Series and was produced from 1968 to 1976. German BMW importer Max Hoffman is credited with the car's creation. He had suggested to BMW's engineering director that a 2.0 litre engine should be installed into the small two-door 1602 to improve performance and emissions. The resulting 2002 (named after the new motor's displacement) was popular in its first year on sale. This BMW 2002 is one of only 354 examples manufactured in right hand drive format. Conversions on these outstanding vehicles were carried out by coachbuilder Karosserie Baur in Stuttgart. Baur retained a 'T' bar in the roof design helping to dramatically reduce any scuttle shake. This stunning 2002 convertible by Baur is presented in deep Atlantic Blue with contrasting houndstooth trim and presented in excellent order. Restored in the mid-90s by specialists Jaymic with modifications including five-speed BMW 5 series gearbox, electric power steering, Weber twin-choke 34-36 carburettor conversion complete with correct electric fuel pump, a Schrick cam, engine re-build in 2016 with electronic ignition and stainless steel exhaust system, re-built centre console with new dials and a modern sound system including Apple Play and bluetooth phone system. The bodywork has been restored and repainted, a new Targa top fitted and upholstery renovated with new 'original' houndstooth check cloth and blue vinyl imported from Germany. Sitting on original steel wheels and hubcaps with a fabulous Mountney steering wheel, the car is accompanied by a history file including photo records of the restoration works, a large file of invoices going back to 1991 and MoT records back to 1984 which suggests that the mileage is correct. The vendor informs us that during the summer of 2021 the odometer stopped working, although the speedometer is working correctly and few miles have been covered since, but this would benefit from replacing or repairing. A rare and desirable 2002 for which viewing is highly recommended.

2000 Mercedes-Benz SL320 Transmission: automaticMileage:62947Unveiled at the March 1989 Geneva Motor Show, the new Mercedes-Benz R129 Series SL range was beautifully engineered. Based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell, its sophisticated, all-round independent suspension (double-wishbone front/five-link rear) was augmented by a host of active and passive safety features including electronic stability control, ventilated ABS disc brakes, adaptive-damping shock absorbers, front airbags and an integral rollover bar that deployed in less than a third of a second if the car ever sensed an impending flip. Suitably cosseting, the convertible's impeccably built cabin consisted of a fully automated power hood and featured such advancements as memory seats, electric windows and mirrors and an adjustable steering column. Yet lurking beneath all the luxury and refinement was a performance orientated sports car. This lovely example of this popular and final R129 model is presented in silver with a black leather interior. It comes with a book pack, service book with ten stamps and was last serviced 600 miles ago in 2020, six invoices can be seen in the history file. The car also comes with its Japanese Mileage Guarantee Certificate verifying its mileage as correct. These, last of the line V6 engined SL's are extremely popular models today and this particular SL320 represents great value for money considering its original book price.

1998 Bentley Continental T Transmission: automaticMileage:45100The Bentley Continental R was launched at the Geneva motor show in 1991 and the styling of the handsome new coupé harked back to elegant lines of the S -Series Continental coupés produced by Bentley Motors throughout the 50s and 60s. The turbocharged 6.75 litre, V8 engine was utilised and internally the car was similar to the Turbo R saloon. Introduced in 1989, the Bentley Continental T brought sportier handling and higher power to the Continental range. It has a four inch shorter wheelbase than a Continental R, has flared wheel arches accommodating the 18 five spoke alloy wheels and a more powerful 420bhp, V8 power unit. To be expected, performance was very impressive with the big Bentley reaching 60mph in under six seconds and a top speed of almost 170mph.This superb example of this rare and desirable model is presented in gleaming Red Pearl with Parchment leather interior. Its walnut wood door cappings and dashboard are in superb condition as are the carpets and headlining. It comes with air conditioning, electric front seats and a very good service history with servicing having been carried out at regular intervals from 1999 onwards. This is probably the finest example of this model we have had the pleasure to put to auction and this is certainly one of the best on the market presently.Registration has been added S557 VPV

1987 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible Transmission: paddleMileage:46727The Corniche was a development of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, with the two-door variants of that model marketed as the 'Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward two-door fixedhead coupé and drophead coupé' until March 1966, when the Corniche name was applied. The exterior design was by John Polwhele Blatchley. The model was assembled and finished in London at Mulliner Park Ward as a continuation of the 1965 Silver Shadow coupé and 1966 drophead. A Bentley version was also sold, becoming known as the Continental in 1984. From its production in 1921, the finest Bentleys of the post war period were all designated 'Continental'; a title which was reintroduced in 1984 when the name Corniche was dropped by Bentley. Both Bentley Continental and Rolls-Royce Corniche sold side by side in various guises until 1995, with the choice being purely the buyers preference for specification and badge. This lovely example was registered new on 30th January 1987 and is presented in metallic black with cream leather interior and a black electrically operated hood. 1972 Porsche 911T Transmission: manualMileage:49000The original 911 series is often cited as the most successful competition car ever, especially when its variations are included; namely the powerful 911 derived 935 which won Le Mans as well as other major sports cars races. The original Porsche 911 with its famous and distinctive design was mechanically notable for being rear-engined and air-cooled. Production would run from autumn 1963 until 1989. The 1972 911 series model had the unusual and rare oil filler behind the right side door, with the dry sump oil tank relocated from behind the right rear wheel to the front in an attempt to move the centre of gravity slightly forward for better handling. Invoices from Porsche alone total over £150,000. This car was originally supplied with optional sports seats, rear wiper and sliding sunroof, and as found on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity is a matching numbers UK market example. When restoring, the owner also gathered many period articles about the 911T which accompanies all of the original sales literature that would have been supplied with the car from new. The engine bay is as impressive as the exterior of the car with all the correct stickers in place, sitting on the correct Fuchs wheels and with excellent shut lines as you would expect. Included with the sale is period registration UCL 5K which is on retention and would be a nice addition to add on classic plates. Timeless engineering and a particular fanatical eye for details makes this one of the best period 911's we have seen. All original and restored by the manufacturer, collectors' examples do not come any better, and with the more relaxed T engine, this is a car ready to be enjoyed and a sure fire investment with someone else having spent the huge outlay on creating 911 perfection.Interested parties should note that this Lot is registered LPL 575W however the vendor is supplying registration UCL 5K which is on retention and can be applied after the sale.

In total, 243,990 units were manufactured during its seven-year lifetime. The PV544 was much more than a safe, strong family car though because the same attributes also made it an effective rally car. It was indeed one of the most successful rally cars of its generation, earning podium places throughout the 1950s and 60s.This fabulous Volvo has benefitted from having much work carried out by the fastidious and knowledgeable vendor. 1959 MG Magnette Mk. III Transmission: manualMileage:18500The Mk. III was announced in  February 1959  and was nearly identical to the Riley version (the 4/68) of the new Pininfarina designed midsize BMC saloon line. They both had truncated tailfins. The car featured BMC's 1489 cc B type engine but, in the MG Magnette III (and its Riley sibling), performance was enhanced by fitting twin SU HD4 carburettors. The interior featured a walnut veneer facia panel, door cappings and leather upholstery as well as safety glass windows. This MG Magnette with chassis number GHS-1/5831 was first registered on 8th October 1959 and purchased by its first owner, Thomas Benjamin Brunt, on 21st October 1959. He kept the car for 23 years until 1982 by which time it had covered approximately 13,300 miles. It was purchased by Frank William Harrison who retained the car for the next 36 years. He covered a further 4,300 miles, bringing the total to 17,600 miles. The car was purchased from his estate by Black & White Classics in Rugeley in Staffordshire in 2018. They later entered the MG in the Brightwells Classic & Vintage Auction at Leominster held on 11th July 2018. This information is based on the original documents that came with the car, contact with the families of the previous owners and relevant garages and other historical documents, as noted. This almost certainly unique MG Magnette Mk. III is generally referred to as the Farina shape. The first owner specified the exterior colour of Cherry Red, only available for the 1959 model year, complemented by Crimson Red interior. The car remains in very good condition with excellent bodywork, paintwork and interior. A well-documented history accompanies the car including owner's handbook, invoices, sales brochures, its original buff logbook and MoT certificates from 1966. It also featured in the February 2019 edition of Enjoying MG and is bound to attract attention wherever it goes.

1981 Ford Cortina Ghia Mk. V (2.0 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:995The biggest step forward for the fourth-generation Cortina was that it finally saw the convergence of the German Taunus and the British Cortina. No longer were these two separate ranges but merely the same cars carrying different badges. The Mk. V was announced on 24th August 1979 and officially the program was code named Teresa although externally it was marketed as 'Cortina 80'. Largely an update to the Mk. IV, it was really a step between a facelift and a re-body. The Mk. V differentiated itself from the Mk. IV by having revised headlights with larger turn indicators incorporated, a wider slatted grille said to be more aerodynamically efficient, a flattened roof, larger glass area, slimmer C-pillars with revised vent covers, larger slatted taillights (on saloon models) and upgraded trim. Improvements were also made to the engine range with slight improvements to both fuel economy and power output compared to the Mk. IVThis rare four door Mk. V Ford Cortina automatic was supplied new in London in December 1981. Due to its age it now qualifies for free road fund licence, it is MoT test exempt and is ULEZ compatible. This low ownership example has recently benefitted from a considerable amount of money being spent on recommissioning. Works included the fitting of a new radiator, exhaust pipe and alternator. The bodywork of this iconic Ford is in good order and is complemented by a sumptuous velour interior. The look is enhanced with period correct alloy wheels, a factory fitted steel sunroof and a working radio cassette player. An earlier engine rebuild was undertaken and this Cortina is fitted with a fully documented LPG conversion. We are informed that with the flick of a switch the car runs well on gas. The often troublesome automatic choke has recently been replaced with a much more user friendly manual version. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a valid MoT test certificate despite its exemption by age, and various paperwork including a superb Ford press release 'The Cortina story'. Offered without reserve this Ford is an opportunity not to be missed.

1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I Transmission: manualMileage:The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was a luxury saloon car built from 1965 through to 1980 and was the first Rolls-Royce to be constructed using a monocoque chassis and, to date, has the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce. The original Shadow was 3½ inches narrower and seven inches shorter than its predecessor, the Silver Cloud, but managed to offer increased passenger and luggage space thanks to more efficient packaging. Aside from a more modern appearance and construction, the Silver Shadow introduced many new features such as disc brakes replacing drum brakes and independent rear suspension rather than the ageing live axle design of previous models. It featured a 189bhp 6.75 litre V8 engine from 1970 onwards, mated to a Turbo Hydromantic 400 transmission supplied by General Motors. The superb ride quality achieved in the Shadow was thanks to the innovative high-pressure hydraulic system with dual circuit braking and hydraulic self-levelling suspension.Originally supplied to W.J. Bowen & Sons Ltd. by H.A. Fox on 12th March 1976 at a cost of £18,235.22 this Silver Shadow I has been well cared for throughout its 46 years on the road. The Regency Bronze coachwork is the original colour and the invoice from H.A. Fox confirms the interior colour to be Beige leather. The optional extras at the time were, fire extinguisher, badge bar, a black Everflex roof and motifs to each door. The car was subsequently sold to Dr. T.C. Mayer on 1st September 1982, he kept the car for many years, with it bearing his registration number of TCM 1. When Dr. Mayer decided to stop driving the car, it changed hands to its third registered keeper in 2018. The original book pack and handbooks are with the car, along with spare keys. A good collection of invoices accompanies the history folder along with previous MoT test certificates going back to 1982. The car was cared for by Silver Lady for many years. These iconic Rolls-Royce's are delightful to look at and even better to drive. This example, still in its original colour combination and low ownership is sure to appeal to Rolls-Royce aficionados. Offered at no reserve, insurable on a classic policy and now inexpensive to run, there is no real reason not to use this on a daily basis.Guide £9,000-£12,000

1998 Mercedes-Benz G320 Cabriolet Transmission: automaticMileage:114692Introduced in 1990 as the civilian variant of the military W460, the W463 or Geländewagen, German for 'terrain vehicle' would, somewhat unexpectedly, become Mercedes-Benz's first luxury SUV. In 1994, the 'Geländewagen' name was dropped, and the W463 officially became the 'G-Class' (though it is still commonly referred to as the 'G-Wagen' for short). Offered as a three-door short-wheelbase, two-door short-wheelbase cabriolet, or five-door long-wheelbase, production of the first-generation W463 G-Class would span nearly three decades, ceasing in 2018. Mercedes-Benz offered a wide array of engine, gearbox, and trim levels over the production life of the W463 G-Class. Of the more celebrated models are the cabriolets which combined the practicality of a rugged off-roader along with the refinement and luxury often associated with the Mercedes-Benz brand.Sold new to the German market in 1998, this highly desirable G320 two-door short wheelbase Cabriolet had found its way to the sunnier climate of Mallorca by 2003. It resided there until the vendor spotted it whilst on holiday for sale with a dealership and immediately fell in love with the off-roader. He didn't even try to haggle, (much to the dealer's surprise), happily paying the full asking price. The previous owner in Mallorca had added genuine Brabus wheels, badges and exhaust giving the car enhanced curb appeal. A real head turner, the car enjoys lots of attention and admiring looks wherever it goes. The vendor imported the car to the UK in 2016 and has cherished it here ever since. It has always been serviced and maintained using genuine Mercedes-Benz parts and has always had anything required done immediately. The car was kept in storage over the winter period, (as it is every year), and this year has benefitted from having the wheels refurbished, the front seats re-covered and the hood serviced. Everything on the vehicle is reported to work perfectly, with it running and driving very well and is only now for sale to help fund a house purchase.Supplied with a V5C registration document, MoT test certificate valid until February 2023, service history file, book pack and documentation of Majorcan ITV tests, (Spanish version of our MoT tests). Rarer than the G500 on the roads, the G320 cabriolet is a truly unique and attractive car, perfect for enjoying the coming Summer months.

2002 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Transmission: automaticMileage:83396For the 1998 model year, the Ford Motor Company restyled the Crown Victoria, eliminating the 'aero' look that the first-generation Crown Victoria had from 1992 to 1997, adopting the more conservative styling of the Mercury Grand Marquis. Both cars included restyled front and rear-end components. The 1998 police package P71 had a chrome grille, chrome door handle trim, chrome bumper strips, and a chrome-trimmed flat-black rear fascia with the 'Crown Victoria' badge. At this time, the car was still known as the 'Crown Victoria P71'. In 1999, Ford introduced the 'Crown Victoria Police Interceptor' name, with a badge on the trunk lid replacing the 1998 'Crown Victoria' badge. A chrome-trimmed gloss-black rear fascia, black door-handle trim, black bumper strips, and a gloss-black slatted grille were also introduced at this time. Finally, the new 'Street Appearance Package', intended to make the CVPI look like a standard (P73) model, including chrome trimming and badging, was introduced. This 2002 Ford Crown Victoria was purchased in 2019 from USA and imported to the UK, being registered in January 2020. The Ford was purchased by a specialist company who supply vehicles to film and television production companies. The car has been repainted and given the decals and lights to give the appearance of a State Police Interceptor and was used in the new action, thriller Netflix film 'Havoc' staring Tom Hardy who played Alfie Solomons in 'Pecky Blinders'. 'Havoc' is due to be released later this year. This Ford Crown Victoria is supplied with a UK V5 registration document and is an opportunity to purchase what might become a piece of film memorabilia in the future.

1930 Chevrolet Sports Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:The Chevrolet Series AD Universal or Chevrolet Universal AD began sales in 1930. Available in a variety of body types including as a two-door coupé, four-door saloon and a delivery van.Purchased in 2014 whilst admittedly looking for a Model A our vendor purchased this car and what became a seven-year love affair began. Believed to be the only one of this year and body style in the UK, it is right hand drive, originally sold in Uruguay and brought to UK in the 1970s. For many years the car has been part of a collection owned by William (Freddie) Cunningham in Scotland but in need of restoration. It has been stripped down to the bare chassis and completely rebuilt with all new chrome then re-wired and converted to 12volts. Boasting a 3.2 litre engine, six-cylinder, three-speed non-synchromesh gearbox, and four-wheel brakes. The main cab seats two in considerable comfort and there is a Dickie seat behind with custom made rubber mats on the floor. Within the history file are two accounts from previous owners and a detailed timeline of the restoration coupled with the UK registration certificate. Now in pristine condition this example has won a number of prizes, however it is not primarily a show car and has been used regularly on various runs with the Preston & District Vintage Car Club. As such it probably drove well over 2,000 miles per year, but sadly in 2021 the owner passed and Historics have been asked to find this glorious piece of American automotive history a new home which has been recently valued in excess of £40,000.

1973 Jensen Interceptor Mk. III SP Transmission: automaticMileage:1500Alan and his brother Richard Jensen first became involved with car design and construction in 1925 when their efforts to improve on the styling and performance of an Austin Seven Chummy attracted much favourable attention. A few Jensen-bodied Fords were produced in the mid-1930s before a more serious manufacturing effort commenced in 1938. After World War II, Jensen kept itself afloat by producing bodies for other manufacturers, most notably Austin Healey, while producing its own stylish GTs in limited numbers. It was not until the Interceptor's arrival in 1967 that cars began to leave the West Bromwich factory in more substantial numbers. With the Interceptor's introduction, Jensen switched from glass fibre to steel for its car bodies, though underneath the preceding C-V8's chassis, running gear and 6,276 cc Chrysler engine remained substantially unchanged. With around 280 bhp on tap, performance was more than adequate, The Motor recording a top speed of 140 mph with 100 mph arriving from a standstill in 19 seconds. Four-wheel servo-assisted Dunlop discs looked after the braking while the ride quality could be varied by the Armstrong Selectaride dampers' dashboard control. Leather upholstery, reclining front seats, and walnut veneer trim were all standard features of this Vignale-styled Anglo-American GT, while automatic transmission was the choice of almost all buyers. The Series II incorporated revised front suspension, Girling brakes, and a redesigned interior, while the Series III, introduced in October 1971, came with a 7.2-litre engine, better seats, central locking, and GKN alloy wheels. The SP (six-pack) was the rare one - with only 232 being built. This lovely example is the very rare and desirable SP model and is presented in Black Garnet, synonymous as a Rolls-Royce colour and looks superb. Its interior has been upgraded to a more luxurious specification to include new front seats with burgundy leather, including door cards and the dash and console have been replaced with burr walnut which looks superb. The current vendor has owned this wonderful sports car since 1976 and is only the third owner from new. In this time, he has also enhanced the Jensen with some extremely smart modifications which include hydraulic lifts for the boot lid, operated from inside with a switch and there is an air compressor in the boot which can be connected up to a fixture which would enable one to blow up the tyres whenever necessary; the spare tyre automatically descends on the press of a button and ascends on the push of a button making it very practical to access when needed. The front seats recline electrically, electric folding mirrors, one touch electric windows and there are footwell lights to front and rear. The air conditioning works well, and the owner has also fitted ABS brakes which makes sense these days and he also boxed in the front and rear wheel arches which keeps the engine bay devoid of road dirt and the rear also. The headlining was also replaced, and the owner also had all controls for indicators etc mounted on stalks from the steering column. Its original mighty 7.2 litre engine is fabulous, and the original SP (six pack) has been removed and replaced with a more user-friendly single twin choked carburettor. The car is also fitted with an immobilizer, new stainless-steel exhaust and it comes with a good photographic and documented history. This really is a superb example that has been sympathetically upgraded to an extremely high standard making it very drivable and useable compared to its more 'original' examples.
