Large Victorian slate mantle clock, +/- 43 cm wide, 42 cm high CONDITION REPORT: The movement does wind on both trains but we have not had the clock running. The case has numerous nibbles, chips and small areas of damage. The most prominent being to the ledge (cornice) above the numeral XII where there has been a 2” break which has been glued. The dial door has scratches. The dial itself is in good condition. The pendulum is present but we do not have a key.

Lot 724

18th century North Country oak press cupboard, the upper section with cupboards, the base with dummy panels and drawers, height 96 cm, width 160 cm, depth 64.5 cm (1053 12/22) CONDITION REPORT: The cupboard is in generally good structural order with no major issues. The cornice has minor nibbles to the corners and various other small imperfections. The sides of the top are in generally good condition. There is some evidence where coat hooks have been fitted to the sides and then removed. One panel has a vertical split. The upper doors are not warped and close flush. The door will at some point have had knob handles. Evidence of this can be seen just above the current lock escutcheons. Both locks are present. We have no keys. They are not locked. The left-hand door panel has a vertical seam split just to the left of the moulded edge. The doors open to hanging space. There is however no rail. There are no shelves but some have been fitted in the past. The base is in generally good order. The side panels are not split. The drawer fronts are in generally good order with only minor nibbles as one would expect. The bracket feet are a little scuffed around the extremities as one would probably expect. We cannot see any evidence of any woodworm.
