A MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK dial cream painted, subsidiary seconds ring and calendar crescent, signed Rossiter, Bridgwater, the spandrels painted with apples, the arch with a hunting scent, case the hood flanked by fluted pillars, the waist door crossbanded, on splayed bracket feet, 85ins. A pair of 19th century bronze hooped door handles, the back plates cast with a Green King mask, the handles with mermaids and a cherub mask, a bronzed bonbon dish raised on three sphinxes and animal leg supports united by a trefoil base, height 18cm, damage, together with a bronze stand etc.
Oak longcased clock, banded in mahogany, painted broken arch arabic dial with subsidiary seconds, date aperture, signed Memmery, Dover (Thomas Mummery), the eight day movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on a Walker false plate, in a swan neck hood and fluted colums, on cavetto shoulders, quarter columns, inlaid door and set-out plinth on bracket feet (pendulum, two weights).
A Dutch walnut and ripple moulded table cabinet, last quarter 17th century, the ogee moulded top with hidden compartment with sliding cover, the twin doors to the front with cut steel interior hinges and raised reserves with ripple moulded borders, with conforming panels to the sides and further ripple moulded bands above and below, the interior with an arrangement of ten drawers with parquetry strung fronts around a central door, the drawers and dividers removing to reveal ten further concealed compartments, all with later marbleised paper lining, 41cm high, 48cm wide, 24.5cm deep
A George II mahogany bureau bookcase, circa 1750, the upper section with a re-entrant mirror inset cupboard door opening to adjustable shelves, the base with a fall opening to an arrangement of drawers and pigeon holes, above four graduated drawers, 188cm high, 61cm wide, 48cm deep. Provenance: Purchased by Sir Harry Hague from Mallett & Son, New Bond Street, London in 1945. Exhibited 25th November - 2nd December 1997, in the `Hidden Treasures, A loan exhibition` by Dreweatt Neate, item number 16.
