1978 Porsche 928 Coupé Registration no. YEL 944SChassis no. 9288101652Odometer Reading: 53,818 MoT Expiry: 06/01/2021 *Italian-market car *Matching numbers and recent bills for more than £15,000 *Bare-metal re-paint in 2018 *Fewer than 54,000 miles from new Porsche's 928 reversed the 911's rear-mounted/air-cooled engine philosophy with a large displacement V8 ahead of the driver. In recent years the model has developed a strong cult following and early cars especially so. This 1978 car was originally sold to Italy (some bills from that time on file) with options of air-conditioning and an electric aerial and imported in 2017. Our vendor says the bodywork was re-painted in 2018 and the original 'telephone dial' alloy wheels (with new Continental SportContact tyres) are devoid of kerbing. Being an early 928 the interior boasts 'Pasha' velour and vinyl seats and the interior has, in the vendor's words, 'an appealing patina'. Mechanically the car has enjoyed the attention of Porsche specialist Historika: As well as a major service the timing belt, tensioners and water pump have been changed, the distributor cap and leads changed and the alternator has been re-built. Turning to the running gear, Historika fitted new shock absorbers and wheel bearings, re-built the steering rack and fitted new brake discs and pads all round. To Schedule a video condition report for this lot please click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 59/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Alongside the more obvious Aston Martin, Bentley and Rolls-Royce offerings were cars from Bristol and Alvis, the latter pair appealing to the purchaser with less desire to flaunt their financial and social standing. Offered here is a 1965 TE21 saloon (a convertible was also offered) that is said to have an excellent history file. The bodywork and metallic blue paint is described by the vendor as very good with the trim, chrome and wire wheels/tyres all being very good as well. The interior is said to have very good carpet, door cards and headlining while the grey leather seats (particularly those in the front) do show some signs of use and are rated as good. The dashboard and wooden fascias are vendor-assessed as very good. Engine starting is said to be good while its running and presentation is very good, and the running gear is said to be very good throughout, as are the electrics. An excellent history file comes with this car. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereTo Schedule a video condition report for this lot please click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 80/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1993 Rover Mini Mayfair AutoRegistration no. L3 KSYChassis no. SAXXNWADKBD071743Odometer Reading: 46,500 MoT Expiry: 17/01/2021 *Very rare late Radford Mini conversion *Re-commissioned last year and said to have excellent bodywork and basket weave decals*Radford-fitted electric tilt/slide sunroof Harold Radford was well-established with his Bentley and Rolls-Royce upgrades but by the 1960s his company had turned its attention to the Mini, whose interior, while functional, didn't necessarily find favour with the well-heeled who desired something more luxurious. While very much a part of the 1960s Mini (and swinging London) scene, it was still possible to buy a Radford-upgraded Mini in the 1990s. Here is one such example of those later cars. Re-commissioned and lightly restored following 15 years in storage the bodywork, black paint (with basket-weave decals) and trim remains in excellent order, with occasional age-related marks. The wheels have been re-furbished and have new tyres. Replacement bumpers in stainless steel have been fitted, as well as chrome headlamp 'peaks' which recall the modifications to those earlier cars. The leather seats have been re-Connolised while the dashboard and trim are described as very good and the headlining has been renewed. Engine starting, running and presentation are all ranked as very good and the running gear, including automatic transmission, suspension and brakes are again vendor-assessed as very good. The history is reported to be good and the private registration plate (valued at £700) is included. To Schedule a video condition report for this lot please click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 85/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The trailer is seemingly complete but ideally would benefit from restoration – a task that should be relatively simple given that it features wooden floorboards. 1955 Land Rover 86 Utility 2-Axle Rigid BodyRegistration no. NRY 101Chassis no. 57106969Odometer Reading: tbc MoT Expiry: Exempt *A worthy project with pedigree*Unused since the 1990s *Previously owned by a son of Spencer Wilks The story of the Land Rover and its creation by the Wilks Brothers is well documented and today Series I models remain some of the most desirable among the Land Rover fraternity. This 1955 86' Utility was bought and registered in the mid-1990s by Nicholas Wilks, the youngest son of Land Rover co-creator Spencer Wilks, as a project for his use but plans to restore 'Enry' did not come about due to ill health. When work stopped, fresh oil was added and the coolant drained with the odometer showing a non-confirmable 58,000 miles. Now needing a full restoration this worthy project comes with a current V5, old buff logbook, two keys, receipts for pre-storage work and a quartet of front doors believed to have come from a late Series 1 on the Wilks' Scottish estate. To Schedule a video condition report for this lot please click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 20/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1922 Rolls-Royce 20HP TourerRegistration no. Our vendor says that despite the restoration being carried out nearly three decades ago the bodywork, paint, glass, trim and wheels/tyres still present in excellent order. The interior, in its entirety, also presents in excellent order they say. Engine starting and running, as well as presentation, is said to be excellent and the running gear (and the electrics) is also described as being excellent throughout.
