An exceptional Japanese silver, ivory and shibiyama Kodansu, Meiji Period, the hinged door enclosing three small gilt lacquered doors, with further lacquering to the base, inlaid with mother of pearl, abalone, wood, coral and horn, the whole profusely decorated with diapers and scrolling foliage, height including handle 22cm x 21.5cm wide x 14.5cm deep.
NINETEENTH CENTURY WALNUT TWO-DOOR CHIFFONIER / PIER CABINET the projecting top above floral & scroll inlaid frieze above two glazed cupboards revealing two adjustable shelves, flanked by gilt metal corbels, all raised on a platform-type base with shaped apron, 120 x 33 x 105.5cms Condition: some significant scratches to top & stains, glazed doors appear good overall, a little dry in place with some veneer loss, marks & stains to coverings on shelves, some bubbling of veneers & chippings to edges.
A late 18th/early 19th century Chinese lacquered two door cabinet, on later stand, with fully painted interior and exterior. The interior having ten drawers. Standing 154cm high and 114cm wide CONDITION REPORTBoth doors have vertical cracks. Carcass of bottom left interior drawer has been renewed.

COOPER TOMMY: (1921-1984) British Comedian and Magician. A.L.S., Tommy Cooper, one page, 8vo, Doncaster, n.d. (25th February 1954), to [Edward] Brown, on the printed stationery of the Danum Hotel. Cooper thanks his correspondent for their letter and continues to inform him 'I'm appearing at the Newcastle Empire week commencing March 1st 1954' and adding 'If you care to come around to the “stage door” and ask for me, I would be delighted to meet you'. Accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed by Cooper and with a printed colour vignette of the comedian wearing his red fez in the lower left corner. Together with a good, small selection of A.Ls.S. (2) and T.Ls.S. (2) by various other British comedy actors comprising Hattie Jacques (seeking forgiveness from her correspondent for the delay in replying to his letter, 'I'm sure you will understand what very distressing times these are for us', 14th January 1949), Max Miller (encouraging his correspondent to see Princess Charming when it comes to Liverpool 'as it is an excellent film', 18th June 1934), Norman Wisdom (signed with his first name only, 1953) and Bud Flanagan (signed Flanagan & Allen, also on behalf of Chesney Allen, thanking their correspondent for some songs and commenting '….unfortunately we are tied down under an agreement with our publishers to sing only our own numbers.
