Edwardian mahogany triple wardrobe, shaped and carved pediment, central mirror panel flanked by panelled doors enclosing hanging space, trays and drawers, plinth base, width 195cm, depth 60cm, height 218cm.Condition report:In good overall condition, the wood and panels are all sound. The linen-lined interior is a little tired but to be expetced with age. The colour has faded across the entire front, noticeable when the doors are open. The mirror plate is sound, but has begun to flake and speckle a little to the corners and margins. The areas surrounding the door pulls are worn with use, and adjacent to the left hand door pull are a few large notches. divets in the frame. The drawers to the interior run ok and the linings are all sound. There is a bit of a moth-ball odour.

Lot 453

Oak longcase clock, the hood with cavetto moulded cornice, turned columns, trunk with long arched door, bracket feet, eleven inch square brass dial, signed John Waltham Sickell, Kingsbridge, eight day movement striking on a bell, with pendulum, two weights and winding key.Condition report:Appears complete and working although not set up fully in the saleroom. The movement is very clean, presumably it has been relatively recently serviced and kept clean. The seat board is a replacement with new crews keeping it in place. The chapter ring is painted with a cream finish and then with black enamelled numerals and markers. The catgut lines are fraying slightly. Repairs to the hood cornice. WOrm throughout the back panel. The rest of the case is in good order, some splitting to the base panel, historic repairs to the feet.

A Fisher of Raunds drop dial wall clock, 29cm enamel dial with Roman numeral chapter ring, twin train movement with parquetry inlay to case and glass panel over pendulum, scroll moulded ears to sides, overall 65cm.Condition report:Appears to be working order. The case has some historic repairs including patch repairs to the inlay. The frame of the dial glass has two crude repairs near the hinge and the opposing side, and the latch that keeps it closed is quite ill fitting, but still serves the purpose. The face has some paint flaking but not terribly evident when the glass is closed, other than surrounding the winding holes. The lower pendulum door is also repaired.

Large Victorian burr walnut breakfront triple wardrobe, moulded cornice, central mirrored door flanked by panelled doors, fitted with hanging space, trays and drawers, plinth base, width 226cm, depth 68cm, height 210cm.Condition report:There is a block of moulding missing from the top cornice, upper right. The main body and doors are generally very good, some colour fading to the central section. Some patches of veneer have been repaired but not immediately noticeable. The mirror plate is speckling a little with age. The pull from the right hand robe is loose and needs reattaching securely. The main door doesn't quite close onto the latch - it may have dropped slightly as there are heavy scratch marks to the plinth base where the door has been opened/closed over time. The interiors are very functional with the drawers running well and sound construction, with very little staining. The linen lining needs replacing but otherwise fine. General wear to the exterior through use, the sides are a little more worn.
