George Miller, Gateshead, late 18thC / early 19thC 8-day long cased clock in heavily carved case (G Bennet, Newcastle) depicting angel to door and knight to base panel. The chased brass break arch dia;l with moonphase and painted rural scenes. The 33cm brass dial with silvered chapter ring, stylised Arabic brass numerals with date aperture and cherub spandrels. The square hood has over-laid gilt foliate decoration and reeded Roman columns with acanthus leaf capitols and the whole raised on bracket feet, 225cm tall.
