A NEOCLASSICAL CLOCK Second half of 18th century Austria Vídeò Carved and gilded wood, brass and glass 58 x 38 x 14 cm Marked on dial: "Leopold Korner / a Vienne"; inscriptions in pencil on back door An intricately carved gilt table clock with a dial featuring two rings of Arabic numbers, an hour hand and minute hand, with “Leopold Korner” and “Vienne” inscribed in the center. The dial and clockwork are housed in a cube cabinet set on a footed base. The clock is decorated with typical Neoclassical elements: above and along the sides are vases, festoons, decorative floraland egg-and-dart patterns. The clockwork has a chime on the quarter hour.
