An 18th Century Italian walnut side cabinet of small proportions, the plain top with moulded edge over three drawers and a single cupboard door on bracket feet 71 cm wide x 34 cm deep x 83.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Top has two sections with clear worm damage and two without suggesting that the two without may be replacements. The drawers appear to be original. The pine linings are held together with hand cut nails suggesting some age. All appear to be the same method of construction. The interior appears to be basic but sound. The lock mechanism has some age but appears to have had a new section/panel/cover suggesting that it has been restored at least. The front of the door has a couple of pegs suggesting that there has been restoration or alteration around the area of the lock and indeed there appears to be a pegged previous keyhole. The side panels appear to be basically sound though with several areas of damage and loss, some of which is barn stored spider faeces which should be resolvable with a decent clean. The back panels appear to have some worm damage but appear throughout to be bascially sound and probably original - see images for further detail
