Movement appears sound. Case appears to be beech or fruitwood rather than mahogany. Age-related cracking to hood. Old plugged hole to upper left of trunk where a door fastener has been removed. Horizontal crack and scuffing top base, small loss to one foot.

Late Victorian mahogany floor-standing collectors cabinet, single glazed door enclosing single bank of twelve slide drawers, each with ring-turned handles and glazed covers, all bar one with pinned specimen name cards, raised on a plinth base, 52cm wide x 48cm deep x 89cm high Condition report: Outer structure generally tired in appearance with numerous scuff, scratches to top and edges, losses to edges on mouldings on top and base. Sides with mildew. Base very scratched. Interior is in far better order. Some scratches noted and wear to varnish where draws have been pulled out. Draws run smoothly.
