A needlework casketMid-17th century, EnglishThe domed top designed with a young man and his companion, the upper front with personifications of Faith, Hope and Charity and the full front opening door designed with a gentleman and lady beneath an arch, the surround with fruit, flowers and insects worked in tent stitch with coloured silks, the sides with laid threads, the back covered with green silk, the inside door with green silk lining worked in gold thread with ES 1680 and opening to reveal regimented drawers of linen covered card with green silk fronts, a hidden drawer at the back of the lower section, another to the upper left and one other with ring dividers below this left drawer, the drawers of varying sizes, the whole raised on bun feet, 28cm wide, 17cm deep, 39cm high (11in wide, 6 1/2in deep, 15in high) Footnotes:Provenance: Sale, The Mary Bellis Collection, Christie's, London, 21 May 1987 Lot 75.For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

The dining table on tapering supports L154.5cm x D78.5cm x H74.5cm, the sideboard with three central darwers with recessed handles flanked by a double cupboard door and a single, enclosing shelving, on tapering legs, L180.5cm x D44.5cm x H74cm
A tray of metalware, including a white metal Indian small tapering tankard, embossed with figural village scene, shield shaped cartouche engraved with Gothic style initials, 7.5cm; a pair of brass and copper candlesticks,18cm; a 32cm brass crocodile nutcracker, 17cm cast iron owl door stop, two Burmese palm leaf manuscripts from a fan; small brass ornaments.
George III oak longcase clock, square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, signed Robert Jones, with date aperture, eight day movement, the case with triangular pediment, long door, panelled plinth, height 210cm.Condition report:Pendulum, weights and key present. The last additional image shows list of recent (2015) work carried out by a local clock restorer. The block that the movement sits on and some of the blocks under this are clearly replaced. Some replaced sections of oak to the hood. The trunk and case panelling have some splits occurring (some natural along the grains) but generally the condition of the case is ok.
Victorian oak and mahogany longcase clock, square painted dial signed Bass, Northampton, painted vignette and spandrels with date aperture, thirty-hour movement, casr with scrolled pediment, short door, bracket feet, height 210cm.Condition report:Clock not set up in the saleroom, but weight and pendulum are present. Movement appears complete. Dial appears repainted. Movement blocks have been refurbished/ replaced. Various old repairs and restoration throughout the hood and case by way of veneers, some existing splitting through drying out.
George III oak longcase clock, square brass dial signed Edward Rudd, Melksham, with subsidiary second dial and date aperture, eight day movement (lasking weights and pendulum), case with plain freize, shaped long door, plinth base, 199cm.Condition report:No pendulum or weights. Clock not set up in the saleroom to determine if movement in working order or complete. Back panel of the case has been replaced. No evidence of worm. Some movement in the door to the hood, other than just opening/ closing. Base of the case is split and moulding loose.
An ebonised twin train bracket clock, 17cm brass dial with silvered roman numeral chapter ring and outer Arabic minutes ring, gilded cherub spandrels to each corner, glass panels to sides and fretwork to back door, brass mounts to top and hinged handle, striking on a gong, overall height 42cm.Condition report:Please see additional uploaded images of the movement.
Georgian century grandfather longcase clock, arched brass dial with moon phase, subsidiary second dial, applied cast spandrels, signed Valen. Downs, Louth, broken swan neck hood, oak case with mahogany crossbanding, inlaid arched door with star motif, overall height 215cm.Condition report:Pendulum is present but no weights or key. Minute hand loose but present (takes to reverse of face). Clock removed from long term storage and doesn't appear to have been in working order/ installed for some years. Heavy discolouration to the dial and moon phase. Case with evidence of worm, all over losses and general poor finish/ patina. No glass in the hood.
