A French mahogany wardrobe, circa 1860 and later, the moulded cornice above a pair of panelled doors enclosing a hanging space, raised on a plinth base, 242cm high, 145cm wide, 67cm deep Provenance: Previously from a Private Collection Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, The rear third appears to have been joined on, it is fabric covered and appears to be pine beneath - it appears to be designed to fit into an alcove with the mahogany front exposed to be viewed in the room, the interior is similarly lined, there is a hanging rail and a covered shelf, Old chips and losses to some areas of moulding, there are scuffs and marks to the sides, these would benefit from a polish The doors are slightly bowed, there is an old lock but no key is present, the lock is unlocked at time of report The wire work to the doors is later, to one door in particular there are losses and breaks Condition Report Disclaimer

Shellard, London, The French circular eight day countwheel bell striking movement with anchor escapement regulated by disc bob pendulum and 3.5 inch circular silvered Roman numeral dial signed I. SHELLARD, LONDON to centre, with steel hands set within canted silvered surround fitted with hinged convex-glazed cast brass bezel, the shaped-top case with symmetrical foliate scroll carved pediment over conforming side scrolls conjoined by a leafy apron between, the rear with brass grille inset rectangular door, 24cm (9.5ins) high. Provenance: The property of a private collector, Hertfordshire. Condition Report: no key to back door, hinge to front with visible glue repairs, sides with what look like possibly later steel screwheads fixing in movement- later screws to back hinges- and lock looks possibly later. Vale Downs Louth; a George III oak 8 day longcase clock, 11 3/4" arched dial with silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture, case 199cm high overall (pendulum, 2 weights no key) Valentine Downs is recorded as working in Louth, Lincolnshire circa 1791. Condition Report: case cleaned- looks to have been slightly reduced then rebuilt at the base- chapter ring and eagle roundel re-silvered- movement very dirty and with later tape and wire mounted inside plates suggesting sections/parts of movements have been stopped- but not repaired- no key to door or winder Condition Report Disclaimer
