A Regency mahogany secretaire bookcase, early 19th century, the moulded cornice with fluted capitals and lozenge decorated frieze above two cupboard doors with reeded pilaster supports enclosing adjustable shelves, the base of four drawers inlaid with stringing and a deep drawer enclosing a fitted interior of pigeon holes, small drawers and a cupboard door, all between pilaster supports, 145cm by 56cm by 235cm . Good quality timber. Cornice with small shrinkage splits to the corners and minor repair work. Right hand side panel upper section with fine split, approx 20cm long. Base section with natural shrinkage split, approx 15cm long. Opposing side upper section okay. Base section with bad splits which have been partly filled and polished. Cockbeading with various damage. Secretaire drawer interior with scratches to end panels. Baize writing surface dry and faded. Drawers run smoothly. The two middle drawers have later dividers, which can be removed fairly easily. Upper section cupboard doors good. The interior with gap in backboards. 050220
A heavy Brass Skeleton Clock having 3 3/4'' diameter enamelled chapter ring with Arabic numerals and with subsidiary moon phase dial over pierced-work hands, the single fusee driven movement by "Franz Denk in Wien" having turned pillars supporting the 4 mm thick plates of the movement supported on stepped feet in turn supported on a brass table base place having tapering turned pillars/legs standing on a dark-wood base with knurled brass screw-action levelling feet. Protected by a well-made, brass-framed glass case with a door to the front for winding, setting and regulating access. In running order with the key present, 17 1/4'' high x 13''.
An early, highly collectable Welsh Oak domed Jam Cupboard of arched form shaped with bentwood, the front with a rectangular door carved with stylised leaf fronds and a half round floral detail, the surround with scribed, ''S'' patterns, and with to the pediment a rainbow shape and other details. A lock (a/f) is installed to the door which has blacksmith made butterfly hinges. The back is of much later date and of plywood which fortunately appears to have been more of an attraction of woodworm than the back of the piece. Below the door is carved initials A DA DA \D and to the lower right of the door BG with the letters AD, following on on the frame, 27'' high x 19 5/8'' wide x 10'' deep
A desirable early Oak Spice Cupboard of peg joyned construction, the recessed door having four panels and opening to reveal an interior with four, three and two drawer tiers within, having iron ring handles and with a void with a shelf below. The door hangs on blacksmith made iron butterfly hinges, cleverly concealed to the door frame. 19 7/8'' wide x 19 3/4'' high x 12'' deep approx.
A Mahogany cased light and dark wood strung 8 day Longcase CLock having door flanked by mirrored spirals, the arched painted face with Roman numerals having a rolling moon phase dial to the arch, inset second hand below the 12 o'clock position and semi-circular calendar window, decorated to the corners with follies/castles.
