This would have originally have sat on a plinth base which is not present. Elsewhere general wear commensurate with age but condition overall ok

Some metal beading around glazed door is slightly loose but still attached. Interior velvet is ripped in areas and worn. Some very minor losses/cracks to veneer around base. Top is slightly faded with some marks, scratching, a possible area or repair and would benefit from some sympathetic restoration.
Victorian aesthetic period ebonised and amboyna inlaid piano-top davenport desk, with brass galleried superstructure enclosing stationary compartments (push button release in the interior) and leather inset slope enclosing birds eye maple lined interior, side panelled door enclosing fitted interior of four drawers, raised on castors, this appears to be a piano-top davenport but rising mechanism not functioning, 55cm wide x 56cm deep x 95cm high
Fine Early 18th century eight day longcase clock in walnut marquetry case with square brass and silvered dial signed William Grimes, London . Gilt cherub spandrels, ringed winding holes, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, four pillar movement striking on bell . The walnut case with ornate floral and bird marquetry decoration , spiral twist columns to hood and lenticle glass to door, raised on bun feet. Pendulum and twin brass weights present.The case 203 cm high, the trunk 29 cm wide, the base 36.5 cm wideProvenance: Estate of the late Jane SumnerCondition report: Good overall condition. Does run but stops after 10 minutes or so ( may not be set up here properly ) Striking mechanism disconnected and may have a missing part. The case is in good condition. It has been restored and has some old worm holes to the hood door and other areas. It does have its original door key and working lock.There may be some re-veneering and other repairs to the case.The hood glass is not original , nor is the lenticle glass. Please see additional images. On further inspection by our clock specialist we do believe the movement is not original to the case. It is a six pillar movement not a four pillar as previously described.Dial measures approximately 28cm x 28cm
Fine George III bracket clock by Paul Rimbault, London with gilt and silvered arched dial with strike/silent in arch, date aperture, rococo scroll spandrels , twin fusee movement striking on bell with repeat , scroll engraved backplate and bob pendulum in mahogany caddy top case with brass carrying handle, urn mounts on bracket feet, 2 keys and pendulum present, 50cm highCondition report: The clock appears in good restored condition , however the verge escapement cannot run as the Bob pendulum fouls the base board and therefore it cannot regulate the clock. The clock strikes and repeats . The rear of the case is bleached by the sun and the bottom of the rear door has a slice of mahogany missing.- see extra imagesOn further inspection by our clock specialist we have now moved the base board of the movement (which had slipped backward) allowing the free travel of the pendulum and the clock is now working
