Lewis of 78 Pensford Road, Knowle Park, Bristol, all handwritten reporting general WWII news across all theatres and also eyewitness reports by himself during the bombing raids for example Monday 17 March 1941 'Bristol was the town which bore the brunt of the last nights air attack , many hundreds of incendiary bombs were dropped with little result high explosive were also used. Air Raid warnings 3.40 to 3.50pm and at 3.55pm. We heard a wave of jerries passing over high up in the clouds', together with 4 silver ARP badges plus an ARP Wardens door plaque sign (Qty: 9)
Vintage Singer Sewing Machine Housed in Oak Cabinet. Lovely sewing table with lift up lid to reveal sewing machine. Two side doors, left one opens to reveal five small drawers containing scissors, thread, needles etc. Right hand door houses foot pedals. Central cupboard has storage, and contains a large box of threads, needles, etc., and a large tin of threads, bias bindings, pins and other accessories. Cabinet measures 32" width, 30" height and 17.5" depth. Very attractive item, please see images.
A 19th Century Coin Operated Penny-in-the-Slot Walnut Polyphon, by Nicole Freres, Leipzig, the vertical mechanism, crank driven playing 15.5 inch discs, arched glazed door flanked by turned pilasters, 44 inches high, 24 inches wide. Complete with 12 discs. Appears to be in good working order.
A 19th Century Coin Operated Penny-in-the-Slot Walnut Polyphon, by Nicole Freres, Leipzig, the vertical mechanism crank driven playing 19.5 inch discs, arched glazed door flanked by turned pilasters, 38 inches high, 27 inches wide. Complete with 39 discs. Appears to be in good working order.
Two mid 20th century vintage retro music / record cabinets to include one having a sliding door with sectional interior raised on tapering ebonised turned legs together with a mahogany music case having a reeded sliding door raised on splayed turned tapering legs. Measures 75 cm high x 50 cm wide x 37 cm deep.
