Ivan Akimovich Sushchenko (Russian, B. 1930) "Steamship" Signed lower right. Original Oil painting on Masonite. Provenance: Collection of James A. Helzer (1946-2008), Founder of Unicover Corporation. This is the original painting which was published on the Fleetwood First Day Cover for the U.S. 1c Pan-American Invert: City of Alpena Steamship stamp issued March 29, 2001. During the 19th century when Americans began traveling West by the thousands, the Great Lakes provided a convenient route for passenger and freight. Vessels powered by sail were commonly used -- just as they had been for centuries throughout the world. The invention of the steamboat revolutionized waterway transportation. American engineer and inventor Robert Fulton designed the first commercially successful steamboat -- Clermont. He adapted James Watt's steam engine (patented in 1769) to his boat and, in 1807, the Clermont steamed 150 miles up the Hudson River from New York City to Albany in 32 hours. The boat later provided regular passenger service on the Hudson and opened the door for other steamboat service on the Great Lakes and along the Atlantic coast. In 1809, the Phoenix, designed by John Stevens, became the first steamboat to make an ocean voyage, traveling along the Atlantic coast and up the Delaware River from New York City to Philadelphia. It was only a matter of time before steam would be used to power ships across the Atlantic, and in 1819, the American ship, the Savannah, became the first steamship to do so. The Savannah traveled from New York City to Liverpool in 29 days. However, in 1838, the British side-wheeler Sirius became the first ship to cross the Atlantic under steam power alone. Robert Seabeck (Wyoming, B. 1945) "1929 Model a Station Wagon" Signed lower left. Original Mixed Media painting on Paper. Provenance: Collection of James A. Helzer (1946-2008), Founder of Unicover Corporation. This painting is the original painting which appeared on the Republic of the Marshall Islands 60c 1929 Model A Station Wagon stamp issued June 4, 1996. By the beginning of 1929, Ford Motor Company was producing enough Model A's to meet the high customer demand. External door handles were available for the first time, and brighter colors and trim were available. America was prosperous and set a record-breaking year in its demand for cars. One million Model A's were built by February 1929; and two million by July 1929. Like the Model T, the Model A varied in type and body style, and included pickups, mail trucks, ambulances and fire engines. Prior to introducing its own station wagon in 1929, Ford Motor Company had supplied the Model A chassis to aftermarket manufacturers to install a station wagon body type. In January 1929, using the Model A platform, Ford manufactured the first mass produced station wagon. These partially wooden Model A's were built by Murray Corporation of America from maple/birch subassemblies supplied by Ford's northern Michigan lumbermills. These unique vehicles were also known as "woody wagons" and sold for $650. Image Size: 6.5 x 13.75 in. Overall Size: 15 x 22.25 in. Unframed. (B15417)

2002 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG Kompressor Transmission: Mileage:80602The fifth generation of the legendary SL series of two door convertible sports cars was known as the R230. It featured a fully retractable hardtop that was marketed as the Vario Roof, a first for the SL class although it had been available on the smaller SLK model since 1997. The flagship models were built by AMG in the form of the SL55 and SL65, both highly tuned versions of the SL500 and SL600 respectively. The SL55 was powered by a mighty supercharged version of the 5.5 litre, V8 which produced 493bhp and achieved 0-62 in 4.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 155mph (governed). In theory, the SL55 could reach 190mph if the car was derestricted but, for many, the acceleration and top speed is impressive enough in its standard form! This Supercharged version of the Mercedes SL was registered in October 2002.Originally blue, this SL was professionally wrapped by Evolution Customs in Dunfermline in 2015 and now presents stunningly as a replica of a Formula One pace car in silver, red and black. This sleek look is enhanced with black alloys and AMG decals. This head-turning Mercedes is offered to auction with a V5C registration and a fresh MoT test certificate and is available without reserve.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1957 Triumph TR3A Transmission: manualMileage:15350‘Honest John’ correctly noted that the TR line was ‘all about evolution and refining of the breed’. So, although there was very little to distinguish the TR3 from the TR2, it was usefully improved. Behind the new egg-crate grille covering the radiator-cooling intake was a more powerful engine thanks to its bigger SU carburettors. Furthermore, in 1956, the main development came when it became the first British car to be fitted with disc brakes, made by Girling, as standard. Visually, the TR3A, as it became known, had a widened grille, external door handles and a toolkit.Sales of the TR3 picked up as a result of the improvements and the USA became an important export market. Indeed, this example, originally an Arizona car, was imported back home in 1999 and converted to righthand drive. It has remained in the vendors ownership since 2013 and had over £20,000 spent to bring it up to the quality expected of its new custodian. All bills and invoices are available since then with MoT test certificates dating back to 2004. Over £10,000 was spent in late 2018 replacing and repairing sills, lower front wings and rear threequarters followed by a photographic bare metal respray of these areas by Triumph specialists. In addition, an unleaded and alternator conversion has taken place with a new wiring loom and rack & pinion conversion in mid-2013. Finally, in a nod to modern motoring, a new cooling system hoses and Kenlowe fan have been installed. It should be noted however, that time does not stand still and various ongoing repairs will be required to both bodywork and trim. Complete with wire wheels, this sharp-looking TR3A is both quick and of good quality. Early registration is recommended. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.Interested parties should note that this example not only comes with an overdrive gearbox but also complete with a full soft-top, sidescreens and tonneau cover.

Lot 114

1978 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC Transmission: automaticMileage:72938The R107 and C107 took the chassis components of the mid-size Mercedes-Benz W114 model and mated them to the larger engines from the W116 S-Class. The SL version was a two-seat roadster with standard soft top and hardtop with optional folding seats for the rear bench. The SLC (C107) derivative was a two-door hardtop coupé with normal rear seats. The SLC is commonly referred to as an SL coupé, but in reality it was an S-Class coupé, replacing the former saloon-based 280/300 SE coupé in the Mercedes-Benz line-up. Volume production of the first R107 car, the 350 SL, started in April 1971 alongside the last of the W113 cars; the 350 SLC followed in October. Sales in North America began in 1972, with the name 350 SL, but with a larger 4.5 litre V8 engine and were renamed 450 SL/SLC for model year 1973; the big V8 engine became available in other markets with the official introduction of the 450 SL/SLC in March 1973. US cars sold from 1972 until 1975. From July 1974 both SL and SLC could also be ordered with a fuel-injected 2.8 litre straight-six as 280 SL and SLC. September 1977 saw the introduction of the 450 SLC five litre featuring a new all-aluminium five-litre V8 engine, aluminium alloy doors, bonnet and boot lid and a black rubber rear spoiler. These handsome C107 coupés are becoming quite rare in such condition. Well presented in silver with a superb Olive Green velour interior, this example has had just five owners. The current vendor reports that the paintwork is in largely very good condition with just a few minor blemishes as is the interior which is very good for its age. Offered with a sizeable history file detailing previous maintenance work and MoT tests certificates, the Mercedes-Benz service booklet and the UK registration document. With all the qualities of the convertible R107 and two extra seats these SLCs are really starting to come of age. This wonderful example is in very good order and is imminently usable for the new owner.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1984 Alfa Romeo Alfasud Transmission: manualMileage:64420When it went on sale in 1972, after first being launched the previous year at the Turin Motor Show, the Alfasud rewrote the book. Given that Alfa Romeo had no experience of small front-wheel drive cars, the sheer dynamic excellence of the flat-four powered Sud came as a shock, leaving the opposition grasping at straws in order to catch up. In 1976, Alfa Romeo trumped the standard Sud by reworking it into a gorgeous hatchback and the results were predictably fantastic. Styling was handled by Giugiaro who, of course, had penned Alfa Romeo's most praised design, the 105 Series and, who at the time was probably the best designer in the world in terms of drawing cars that were simply 'beautiful'. The Sprint, in many people's eyes, eclipsed the already desirable Alfetta GTV.This Alfasud was originally sold by Amersham Motors Ltd on 14th April 1984 and is finished in Avorio (Ivory) with beige velour trim. Starting life as a 1.3 SC example, this Alfa Romeo benefits from a 1.5Ti engine upgrade together with Ti trim alterations. A comprehensive history folder accompanies this pretty five-door hatchback with receipts and MoT test certificates dating back to the point of registration and confirming the mileage of 64,420 to be correct. The original service books together with the handbooks are present. In 2001, with an odometer reading of 62,741, the car was put into storage; she was recommissioned in 2018 with the odometer being 62,982 at the point of the MoT test. Showing no signs of any accident damage or corrosion, this Alfasud appears to have completely original paintwork and is a very sound, solid example. Last serviced by Thorobred Cars in Laleham in February 2021, a complete set of Goodyear tyres were fitted at the same time. This Alfa Romeo Alfasud is supplied with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 7th February 2021 with no advisories.Guide price £6,000-£8,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 120

1973 Jensen Interceptor Mk. III Transmission: automaticMileage:61696With the Interceptor’s introduction in 1967, Jensen switched from glass fibre to steel for its car bodies. Underneath, the preceding C-V8’s chassis, running gear and 6,276cc Chrysler engine remained substantially unchanged. With around 280bhp on tap, performance was more than adequate, The Motor magazine recorded a top speed of 140mph with 100mph arriving in 19 seconds. Leather upholstery, reclining front seats and walnut veneer were all standard features, while automatic transmission was the choice of almost all the buyers. The Series II incorporated revised front suspension, Girling brakes and redesigned interior, while the Series III, introduced in 1971, came with a 7.2 litre engine, better seats, central locking and alloy wheels. For 1974 Jensen adopted an improved, 330bhp version of the 7.2 litre Chrysler V8 on the ‘J Series’ Mk. III, which also gained all the equipment, including air conditioning, that had been standard issue on the now discontinued Interceptor SP. The major development that year was the introduction of the convertible, which in turn would inspire Jensen’s final variation on the Interceptor theme: The Coupé.This good 1973 Jensen Interceptor III was subject to a restoration sometime in the 1980’s when the colour was changed from black to the current colour of blue. The current owner purchased this car in 2009 from Jensen specialist, Cropredy Bridge Garage and at that time had fitted 17” alloy wheels, new walnut veneers and a high output alternator. In 2010, in preparation for a trip to the Le Mans Classic the following work was carried out, new big end bearings, new water pump, new starter motor, new power steering pump and a superpack radiator with high output fans. Later, in 2010, further work was carried out including new head gaskets, both exhaust manifolds refaced and refitted, new spark plug leads, rear exhaust silencers replaced, new starter solenoid and a reconditioned steering rack. The MoT test certificate in December 2010 shows the mileage to be 56,855 miles. In 2011, the carburettor was rebuilt, new oil pressure sender and electric window gears were fitted. Finished in blue with beige leather interior, this Interceptor III is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate, the original Jensen build sheets and a list of owners from DVLA. Also supplied with the car are new spares which are; door, bonnet and boot seals, new front seat cushions, new beige Wilton carpet set and a beige handbrake gator.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1964 MG 1100 Mk. I Transmission: manualMileage:40000In 1962, a quite revolutionary new saloon was launched by BMC at the same time as the brand new MGB. Initially wearing the Morris badge, ADO16 was hot from the drawing boards of Alec Issigonis and Pininfarina. Offered in many guises by Innocenti, Morris, Riley, Wolseley, Vanden Plas and Austin, the AD016 was truly universal in its appeal. In line with BMC's policy at the time, Austin badged versions of the ADO16 were built at Longbridge, whilst Morris and MG versions were assembled at Cowley. The original Mk. I models were distinctive for their use of a Hydrolastic suspension. Unlike almost all of its competitors, the AD016 featured front-wheel drive instead of the rear-wheel drive. The Mk. I Austin/Morris 1100 was available, initially, only as a four-door saloon. This little early MG 1100 is in good condition throughout and is presented in the factory colour specification of grey over cream with blue interior trim. Recent works include overhauled carburettors and rubber perishables replaced. Imported from the dry climates of South Africa and recently fully recommissioned, this 1964 example has been UK registered and starts and fires into life with aplomb. Recently benefitting from new carpets and fully overhauled brakes, this MG has a four-speed synchromesh gearbox. Supplied with an MoT test certificate until September 2021, this ground breaking small car is offered without reserve and is a real MG collectors delight.Guide Price £4,000 - £7,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Lot 132

2002 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Transmission: automaticMileage:85634With a 0-60mph time of six seconds, the 4973cc, R129 Mercedes-Benz SL500 carried on the tradition of the fast and reliable grand touring convertible. A fully operating electric hood, windows, door mirrors and seats made this model easy and comfortable to operate. The fifth generation SL was in production between 2002 and 2008 and featured the all-new retractable hardtop - an important feature for those British showers! Mercedes-Benz followers were impressed with the stability of the car with the hardtop in place and the ease at which they could remove it. Such was its success; the SL is still one of the leading cars in the Mercedes-Benz range. This car features the very capable 5.0 litre 302bhp V8 powerplant mated to a standard automatic gearbox. This sleek looking Mercedes was originally registered in September 2002. During the vendors tenure which started in 2015, this SL500 has been used infrequently and always dry stored. The car fired into life when requested and the impressive power hood works smoothly. The history file for this V8 powered Mercedes includes the owner’s book pack, a well stamped service history, various bills and receipts and previous MoT test certificates. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document, a fresh MoT test certificate and including the cherished number plate, this impressive Mercedes is offered without reserve.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

2021 Shepherds Hut Transmission: Mileage:The shepherd's hut (or shepherd's wagon) was, since the 15th century and into the 20th century, used by shepherds during sheep raising and lambing, primarily in the United Kingdom and France. They often had iron wheels and corrugated iron tops. Sometimes the sides were also made of corrugated iron.Use of shepherd's huts by farmers reached a peak in the late 19th century and dwindled in the 20th century with the advent of mechanised farm machinery and electric power reaching even remote farms. Their use persisted in some northern counties in the United Kingdom, particularly Westmoreland and Northumberland, where the terrain of the uplands supports little else but sheep farming. There have been numerous different materials used to construct shepherd's huts and after World War I, when metal was in short supply the chassis were often built with wood and the sides built with interlocking planks of larch or spruce. Sometimes the roof covering would be constructed from felt and tar and insulated with lambswool. Cast iron wheels were frequently recycled from other farm machinery. The shepherd's hut was a kitchen, dining room, bedroom, sitting room and storeroom all rolled into one. The designs vary but all were constructed to provide the shepherd with practical and durable accommodation. The old huts had a stove in one corner for warmth and cooking, and a window on each side so the shepherd could see the flock. A hinged stable door, which was always positioned away from the prevailing wind, enabled him to hear the flock, and strong axles with cast iron wheels were used to withstand the constant movement from field to field. This brand new Shepherds Hut which measures 18ft X 8ft is custom made with box section metalwork chassis on a turntable with drawbar. It has stud work walls, floor & ceiling insulated with organic recycled sheeps wool with an engineered oak floor over. It has textured hand painted redwood internal cladding walls with a Tongue and Groove barrel roof, oak featheredge cladding to the exterior and oak double width steps. The owner has bestowed this wonderful Hut with bespoke hardwood doors and windows with five lever locks to the door and hand forged window furniture. For those who like to be cosy on those chilly evenings/days, a delightful ‘Hobbit’ wood burner has been installed to full HETAS regulations. Four double sockets and four vintage LED style wall lights have also been installed with two bulkhead lights to the exterior to finish off that authentic look and feel. A fitted kitchenette with base level units and worktop, including hot water heater, Belfast sink and tap (will need connecting to mains drainable and water supply) has been installed to complete the interior aspect of this traditional Shepherds Hut. The Hut doesn’t include any groundwork, mains connections, or installation, all of which can be quoted separately. Also buyers please not that this Shepherds Hut does not include, any interior props or free standing furniture which can be seen in the photographs or whilst on display. *Delivery within a 50 mile radius (only ‘Standard’ delivery with easy access) £600.00 is being offered by the owner. 1998 BMW Z3M Transmission: manualMileage:111570The Z3 was the first modern mass-market roadster produced by BMW, as well as the first new BMW model to be assembled in the United States. It was introduced as a 1996 model year vehicle, shortly after being featured in the James Bond movie 'Goldeneye'. While the film was number one at the box office, sales of the car peaked and it was sold out by the time the car was launched. Along with the styling cues, BMW’s Motorsports division took the Z3M and shoehorned in the performance version of the most beloved six-cylinder engines in the auto industry from the BMW E36 M3, upping the power to 321bhp!!This example is finished in Estoril Blue metallic with blue and black leather sports seats and a blue hood. The car comes with its factory hardtop, heated seats, electric windows and electric door mirrors. It also has remote door locking facility, wind deflectors and a roof cover. Its powerful 3.2 litre six-cylinder engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox and all the alloys wheels are in good condition as is the car throughout. 1963 Ford Lotus Cortina Mk. I Transmission: manualMileage:31684In 1961, Colin Chapman was commissioned by Harry Mundy to design a twin-cam version of the Ford Kent engine and its first appearance was at the Nürburgring in a Lotus 23 driven by Jim Clark. Soon after, the engine appeared in the Lotus Elan. During the engine's development, Walter Hayes at Ford asked Colin Chapman to fit the twin-cam into 1,000 Ford saloons for Group 2 racing homologation. Chapman accepted the contract and the type 28, or Lotus Cortina as it became known, was born. Whilst Ford supplied the two-door body shells and took care of the marketing, Lotus engineered the mechanical and cosmetic changes which included the 1558cc engine along with the Elan's close-ratio gearbox, front quarter bumpers and Lotus badges. They also made changes to the interior with a new centre console to accommodate the revised gear lever position, different seats and a later styled dashboard that incorporated a tachometer, odometer, oil pressure, water temperature and fuel gauges. A wood rimmed steering wheel was the finishing touch. This magnificent Lotus Cortina was first registered on 17th June 1963 and was originally manufactured in the Lotus colours of white with a green stripe. Having been restored to a superb standard, the body colour was changed to the Alan Mann racing colours of red with a gold stripe in September 2001. With excellent door gaps and panels that are extremely straight with no rippling the quality of the restoration of this Ford is clear to see. The twin cam Lotus engine runs well with good oil pressure and the gear changes smooth. We are advised on the open road this Lotus Cortina drives well and creates a host of admiring glances. 1991 Range Rover CSK Transmission: manualMileage:158,438The limited edition Range Rover CSK is named after Charles Spencer King, the man who designed the original two-door Range Rover over 20 years ago. The CSK was intended primarily to publicise the new anti-roll suspension and was promoted as a sportier Range Rover but most elements of its specification were drawn from the four-door Vogue SE or from US-market models. Each car has an individually numbered plaque on the radio panel confirming its exclusivity, discreetly bearing his insignia and, in 1990, would set you back £28,995 for the manual or £30,319.32 for the automatic. The CSK features a number of modifications improving both performance and passenger comfort and became the fastest production Range Rover ever built at that time with the proven and re-chipped version of the 3.9 litre, V8 engine developing 185bhp. 1976 Jaguar Series II Coupé (5.3 litre) Transmission: automaticMileage:93136A 9,378 car production run of two-door XJ coupés with a pillarless hardtop body called the XJ-C was built between 1975 and 1978. The car was originally shown at the London Motor Show in October 1973, but it subsequently became clear that it was not ready for production, and the economic troubles unfolding in the western world at that time seemed to have reduced any sense of urgency about producing and selling the cars. After reports of problems with window sealing delaying production, XJ coupés finally started to emerge from Jaguar showrooms some two years later. The coupé was based on the short-wheelbase version of the XJ. The doors were made out of a lengthened standard XJ front door (the weld seams are clearly visible under the interior panels where two front door shells were grafted together with a single outer skin). Both six and twelve-cylinder models were offered; 6505 of the former and 1873 of the latter were made. The delayed introduction, the labour-intensive work required by the modified saloon body, the higher price than the four-door car, and the early demise prompted by the new XJ-S, all ensured a small production run making these coupés quite rare today. This lovely example was first registered on 11th November 1976 and is presented in gleaming red coachwork with cream leather trim and complementary red piping. This rare car having formed part of a large collection, has been both maintained well but also stored correctly since restoration. Offered with a UK V5C registration document and MoT test certificate until 2022 this is an example in lovely condition and viewing is highly recommended. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction.
