A George III Chinoiserie Japanned 8-day longcase clock, the 11" brass dial signed John Smith, London, silvered Roman hour and Arabic minute chapter ring, mask head spandrels, subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture and ringed winding hole, the black lacquered case with flat topped hood, overhanging cornice top, the long trunk door fitted with circular lenticle, decorated with Chinoiserie inspired motifs, Condition: Weight pendulum and winding key present. Door slightly bowing. Rubbing chips and wear to lacquer decoration. lacquer and gilt decoration to sides very faded. 11" square brass dial. Movement most likely associated. The seat boarrd has been raised up on two blocks and the dial sits to one side with a gap to top and side. Glazed door aperture 12". Two moulding strips to side of hood detached but present. movement untested
A George III oak 8 day longcase clocksigned Thomas Bevan, Marlborough on the 12" dial with silvered chapter ring, having Roman and outer Arabic numerals, dual minutes tracks, subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture, brass pierced spandrels with two train movement striking on a bell, the case having pedimented hood with three pedestals for finials (missing), a glazed door flanked by a pair of turned columns with gilt bronze capitals and bases, the trunk with hinged door, on a box base with shaped feet,height approx. 223cm, width 51cmCondition: Weights present, the case is missing the three finials, shrinkage to one column which makes it slightly loose, small loss to corner of the pediment, some moulding missing from the top edge of the base, Movement untested and no guarantee can be offered as to the full working order.
A Regency satinwood bracket timepiecethe 4 inch white enamel dial painted with Arabic numerals, signed Grant Fleet Street London and with blued steel hands, behind a convex glass and brass bezel, the five pillar single fusee movement with engraved brass backplate, the lancet shaped case with triple arched fretted brass grille, flanked by cluster columns on the front angles with brass capitals and reeded border to arch the sides with lions mask ring handles, the rear with lancet glazed door, on stepped base with brass ball feet height 30.5 cm., width 17.4 cm., depth 12.5 cm.Condition: Pendulum present, but no winding key or case key. Movement untested. Lock for rear door detached but present. Front door locked. Dial repainted, crack to case front below dial and below brass grille.
A large Victorian Gothic walnut cased bracket clockthe arched silvered dial with Roman numerals, minute track, STRIKE/SILENT and SLOW/FAST dials, signed Halton & Slocombe, 63 Moorgate St, London, two train movement striking on a coiled gong, the figured walnut ogee arched case adorned with a pair of columns and having fret cut sides and surmounted by three leaf finials, on a plinth base and compressed feet height 70 cm., width 42.3 cmCondition: Dial with some rubbing/scuffs to silvering between 1 - 6 within the numerals and around winding holes. Movement untested. Pendulum present. Winding key and door keys absent. Case in good condition. Slight chip to right hand corner above column. Slight chip to veneer bottom right hand corner. Front door will only close flush if locked. Small crack approx. 1cm to left top edge of door where arch starts
An early 20th century mahogany wardrobe, the arched pediment above single mirrored door set with arched bevelled plate and flanked by pair of panelled trims, above a single drawer to plinth base, 210 x 123 x 45cm (af). CONDITION REPORT Overall solid but used condition, with signs of wear throughout including splits, scuffs, stains, crazing to the polished finish. Scuff from the door opening and to the lower plinth. The pediment has a left hand trim missing, but this is not visible from the front. Further splits to the veneer on the pediment are visible.
A 20th century oak Priory-style dark stained bookcase, with rounded rectangular top and egg and dart frieze above a pair of part leaded glazed doors, with lower linenfold decoration panels, raised on squat bun feet, containing a quantity of books and CDs, 133 x 80 x 36cm. CONDITION REPORT The cabinet is locked and the key is not present. The top is faded with areas of scuffs, scratches, stains, etc and there is a deep scratch to the right hand side of the right door. Further light surface wear to the lower plinth.
