Movement is clean and appears to be in working order. However, there are several holes in the back plate and at top left corner there appears something has been removed, possibly a repeat wheel. Cock may also not be original. Dial is clean and in good condition. Case very good overall. Rear door has minor damage to top left corner and has been cut inside to accommodate pendulum bob
19th century mantel clock with French timepiece movement signed - Chappement Brevete, front to rear swinging pendulum in the form of a cherub on a swing, visible movement, white enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals in an alabaster case with gilt metal mounted scroll supports on a platform base with four turned feet (pendulum present, winding key lacking), 23cm overall height CONDITION REPORT General overall condition reasonably good. Movement is dirty and does tick but we are unable to say if it is in full working order. Enamelling on chapter ring is cracked in several places. Hands have been repainted black. Case is dirty and dial surround cracked. Two gilt metal mounts at top of scrolls missing. No rear door

No sign of worm. Large split running the length of the top of the lower section, partially obscured by the top section. Large split running up left hand side. Large area of veneer missing off base on right hand side, also missing rear foot. Left hand door of base quite faded. Top section in good condition
