19th century Black Forest hunting lodge credenza. This impressive cabinet is divided in two-parts. The rounded intricately carved base has three drawers above three cupboards, each cupboard having a central panel ornately carved in proud relief with grouse and flowering fruit. Each drawer having a hand-carved drawer-pull in the form of lion mask. The upper part of the cabinet has a glaze-fronted door revealing three display shelves, flanked by pillar supports carved with mask, flowers and scrolling leaf with bracketed outer display shelves. The whole cabinet is crowned with a scroll pediment surmounted with a deer head, approx 255h x 182 l x 60 d cms, shelf depth 30 cms. January Antique and Collectable Sale 27/01/2022Overall it is a very solid and attractive structure, original glazing with no damage. The bottom shelf has a fine crack running all along it's length and out to the display shelves on either side, this could be rectified. The top tips of the antlers has suffered some loss and the gallery behind although intact is loose.
