A 19th Century mahogany long case clock with arched top over a marquetry inlaid door featuring birds and flowers and marquetry inlaid base featuring a twin-handled vase amongst flowers, with a shaped apron and bracket feet, the brass and silvered dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, and with subsidiary seconds dial, and to the arch "Chime / Silent dial and a "Chime on 8 bells / Chime on 4 bells" dial, marked "Jos Hunt London", bears a brass plaque to the interior of door "Presented to Charles Walter Kellow as a mark of high esteem in the grateful recognition of his invaluable services during the Andover elections of 1880 and 1885 by his friend Francis William Buxton 1886" and bears paper label to the back marked "Edwards & Roberts Upholstery Warehouses, Wardour Street, London", 220 cm high
A 19th Century cast iron arch top kennel door frame, the arch moulded with the inscription "Spratts Patent Dog Cakes", 43.75 cm x 35 cm CONDITION REPORTS Basically in sound condition though with surface rusting. Appears to have been polished and with an element of blacking to cover the rust throughout. Photographs give the impression of very reddy colour to the rust which is accentuated by the interior lighting in the saleroom - in reality not as pronounced in its' colour
THOMAS SMYTHE (1825-1906) "Stable lad with brush, feeding horses a dog at his feet by door", oil on canvas, unsigned, inscribed on "Cider House Galleries Limited" label verso, 30.5 cm x 40.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Has been cleaned and there are a few areas that have been touched up especially round the haunches of the horse and the area above the horses head. there is also something going on on the left hand side of the open door. Has crazing and cracking throughout including a couple of more predominant places in the top left hand corner and there are also some surface scratches and flaking to the varnish/paint. General wear and tear conducive with age and use - see photos. The frame has dust, dirt, cracking etc and appears to have been re-lined. See images for further details
A George III mahogany tray top night table, the top with twin handles over a single tambour door above a pair of dummy drawers, opening to reveal a lined interior, raised on square legs, 50 cm x 77 cm CONDITION REPORTS The top with various marks, scratches, scuffs, impressed marks, dark marks, ring type marks. The top surface is very slightly bowed,some minor chips and losses to the edges. The door runs fairly freely. The sides and backs have various splits. Drawer is slightly stiff, the base board has a split into it. All over various general signs of wear and tear throughout expected with age and use.
An early 18th Century walnut sécretaire à àbbatant, the upper section with moulded cornice above a cushion drawer, the feather-banded fall front with oval central medallion opening to reveal a fitted interior with various pigeon holes with secret drawers behind, central cupboard door and drawers, the base of three long graduated drawers raised on bracket feet, 103 cm wide x 170 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Some small chips t the cornice, some cracks, some repaired sections, some cracks to the veneer. The fall has to be wedged shut, there is a missing escutcheon round lock. Interior with some scratches, scuffs and marks. Lock appears to be worn through possibly a repair to some of the veneers inside. Around the top of the base various marks, chips and small losses, scratches etc, handle missing to the top drawer, splits to the base board. Bears ivorine label for Vernon Gittins, splits to the bases of all drawers, wood is very faded in places. All over various scratches, scuffs and marks and various general signs of wear and tear throughout. Width of the body of the top section 93 cm. Width of the cornice 102.5 cm. Width of the bottom section 98 cm. Height of bottom section approx 83 cm. Height of top section approx 88 cm. Total depth at longest point approx 46.5 cm.

Large split running down the front side - see images - and the hole to the drawer front. Various splits to the sides, sliding door runs relatively freely, some splits to the interior.
