The lock is present and we have the key. It does operate. The base moulding to the left and right is detached but we have the pieces. The shelves are original. The backboards are original. Stamped to rear R1141 and 123. Height 200 cm, width 82 cm, depth 57 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The wardrobe is in good structural order. The cornice is slightly sprung at the front corner joins and there are very minor nibbles to the corners. The door is not warped. It closes as it should. The latch operates. The interior is in generally good order. The upper shelf is possibly a later addition as the supporting brackets look relatively modern. The interior side hooks may not be original. The bordered back has slightly sprung at the joins in places but again this is not a structural problem. The sides of the wardrobe are in generally good order with only minor blemishes and marks as one would probably expect. Where the inner bottom shelf meets the side of the wardrobe it has been strengthened. There are drilled and filled screw holes (5) drawing the side of the cabinet into the shelf. This is at low level but clearly visible. The back of the wardrobe has either been built to accommodate a skirting board or altered to accommodate a skirting board. The inside rear left hand floor corner has clearly had something leaking. This has softened the wood in that area. There is no evidence of any woodworm.
