A French brass eight day striking repeater carriage clock, number 2323. The case has brass pillars on each corner and an elaborate border around the top of the case. It has lever platform escapement striking on a single gong. The winding and hand setting is through a rear glazed door. It has a gilded dial with enamel chapter ring, numeric figures and blue steel Fleur De Lys style hands. It stands at 21cm high, 10cm wide and 9cm deep
An early 18thC laburnum oyster veneered cabinet, with moulded top and cushion shape secret drawer, over two marquetry doors, hinged to reveal an interior fitted with an arrangement of drawers around a central door, with further drawers, on a later barley twist framed stand, 42" wide, the cabinet 29" high, 65" overall Provenance: By descent, the Fitzgeralds of the Island, Count Waterford. This items has been on loan at Malahide Castle near Dublin.
