J. van Hove“.In dekorativem schwarzen Rahmen.Auf einem zugefrorenen Fluss eine Familie mit Schlitten und im Hintergrund mehrere Schlittschuhläufer. Am linken Ufer die Ansicht eines Stadtviertels mit schlossartigem Gebäude, zu dem man durch ein steinernes Tor gelangt. Am Ufer zudem ein festgefrorenes Boot, auf dem eine Frau gerade ihre farbenfrohe Wäsche an einer Leine aufgehängt hat. Rechts des Flusses eine hohe prachtvolle Kathedrale und zahlreiche kleine Staffagefiguren am Ufer. Stimmungsvolle romantische Ansicht unter hohem, meist grauen Wolkenhimmel, die Kälte eines Wintertags vermittelnd.Der Künstler war Schüler des Haager Dekorationsmalers J.H.A.A.
