A Long-Cased Grandfather Clock. The 8 day mahogany cased clock with broken pediment and brass eagle and ball finial with blind ornament. Arched door reveals a polished steel face with Roman dial, calendar and second hand aperture and brass foliate spandrels, flanked by two columns with brass capitals and bases, approx 230 cms.

A Victorian Welsh mahogany longcase clock, 32cm arched painted dial inscribed Meredith, Merthyr Tydvil, Roman numerals, the arch and spandrels painted with a bay and rustic buildings, subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, twin winding hole, 8-day movement striking on a bell, the case with arched hood, rectangular door to waist, 218cm high, c.1860William Meredith was working at Merthyr Tydvil from 1852 to 1899; in his earlier years he also signed clocks from Tredegar.
