A George II oak bureau, the architectural stepped interior with pierced, break arched door in blind fret surround, the front fitted three moulded drawers above three further graduated drawers, on bracket feet, 107cm h; 92 x 48cm ++The handles and key plates Victorian gilt brass replacements, stamped WT&S beneath a sun. In basically good original condition with small losses to the narrow parts of the moulding around several of the drawers
Early Victorian Longcase Clock, the painted arched dial inscribed "Geo Grant - Southampton", with secondary seconds dial and date aperture, the spandrels decorated with convolvulus, the arch with leafy scrolls, eight-day movement, chiming on a bell, contained within a mahogany case, with arched hood, fluted column pilasters, above an arched door with boxwood and ebony beading, shaped apron and bracket feet, 221cms, (7'3").
George III and later Longcase Clock, the silvered arched dial inscribed, "John Skinner - Exeter", with secondary seconds dial, date aperture, strike silent dial, the spandrels engraved with putto, eight-day movement, contained within a mahogany case, with arched hood with turned column pilasters, arched door with beaded outline and on plain base, 234cms, (7'8").
19th Century and later Longcase Clock, with painted arched dial, inscribed, "John Cartwright - Oldbury", secondary seconds dial and date aperture, the spandrels decorated with wild animals and with rolling moon phase in the arch, eight-day movement, contained within an oak and mahogany crossbanded case with swan-neck pediment, turned column pilasters, arched door with lozenge inlay and with quarter column pilasters, on bracket feet, 234cms, (7'8").
Edwardian mahogany and gilt metal mounted Bureau de Dame, the upper half with a cabinet, fitted with two glazed shelves and enclosed by a bevelled glazed door, flanked by bowed shelves, the interior of the base fitted with three satinwood-faced drawers, leather writing surface and enclosed by a cylinder front with Vernis Martin panel decorated with a Continental landscape scene, above one long drawer, stamped, "Edwards & Roberts" and on fluted tapered legs, 87cms, (34").
A sideboard, 1950s / 60s, oak, the sideboard of rectangular form with exposed corner dovetails with central row of four graduated short drawers, each with two wooden loop handles, flanked by a single cabinet door to each side, each opening to reveal two adjustable shelves, raised on short front corner block feet, 154cm wide, 91.5cm high, 40cm deep. Provenance: Made by Robert Wearing.
An eight day longcase clock, oak, the 11" square brass dial with chapter ring of Roman numerals, the 19th century movement striking on a single bell, the oak case made in the 18th century style, circa 1990s, the hood with architectural pediment carved with a 'W' to the frieze, over a short trunk door, box base on shaped bracket feet, 210cm high. Provenance: Case made by Robert Wearing.
A 1930's bleached oak five piece bedroom suite by Heal & Son Limited, London, with octagonal moulded panels, comprising a four door wardrobe, 72" wide x 72" high, a small double door wardrobe with fitted interior, 36" wide x 59" high, a kneehole dressing table and a pair of bedside cabinets, all raised on bun feet, together with a similar dressing stool with rush seat (6)
French brass carriage alarm clock, late 19th century, gilt brass corniche case, white enamel face with roman numerals and subsidiary alarm set dial (hand missing) signed Goldsmiths' Company as the retailer, triple barrel striking movement with gilt platform and hour repeat, back plate stamped Paris and Patent SJRETYPOLLER. Ht 14cm (Door glass missing, strike barrel faulty etc. no key)
Edwardian mahogany longcased clock , the broken arch brass face with silvered chapter ring and gilt art nouveau numerals, subsidiary chime/silent, Whittington/Westminster, and seconds, three-train movement striking the quarter on eight chromed tubes and the hour on a ninth, the swan neck hood with fluted Ionic columns on a trunk with glazed door and set-out base. Height 243cm (Key, pendulum and three weights)
