Thy Days are but a Span', with Roman and Arabic chapter ring and subsidiary minutes and calendar dials, the centre engraved with a sailing boat, a sunburst, foliate scrollwork and birds, the chapter ring crested by two silvered appliques inscribed 'Time is Valuable', the hood with swan neck pediment inset with mirrored and painted glass tablets, the door flanked by detached reeded columns, the trunk with shaped top door edged with astragal beading, with reeded quadrant forecorners, the base with astragal beaded edged panel and chamferred corners, standing on brass ball feet, 93 1/4" (237cm) high (excluding brass finial), max width 24 1/2" (62.5cm) (some restoration to the case required with two weights and pendulum)
