CORRECTED (LOWER) ODOMETER READING 1995 Audi 80 Cabriolet 2.0 - Odometer reading 170,300 miles- MOTd until 29th September 2022 with no advisories - Manual, 2.0l petrol producing 115 bhp Audis fourth generation of the 80 aimed to introduce the model into the German luxury mid-sized vehicle segment which was dominated by BMW and Mercedes-Benz at the time. It did so successfully with the B4 models being extremely popular especially amongst those in the corporate world. This blue Audi Cabriolet has been adored by its current owner for the last year and a half. A former mechanic, he exclaims that he has regularly maintained the car and dry-stored it in his garage since ownership. He mentions that he personally installed new discs, brake pads and hoses (front and back) along with changing the timing belt, water pump and thermostat distributor cap 1000 miles ago with receipts to backup part purchases. It is clear from its recent MOT and from visual inspection that it has been well cared for mechanically as well as aesthetically. The bodywork and interior appear smart with only a minor scratch on the lower passenger side door that lets it down and the car comes with its original leather binder filled with history. The car includes 2 keys, alarmed central locking, electric windows and power steering which is all working. There has been an upgraded stereo unit fitted which allows the driver to make hands free phone calls and play music. This combined with its half blue leather interior makes the cabin a lovely place to be. This retro cabriolet offers a great cheap usable modern classic that is only appreciating and will see you through the months in 2022. - Our buyers premium on all cars, motorbikes and scooters is 10% + VAT. - We encourage any interested parties to inspect the vehicle on our viewing days and prior to sale on Thursday 2nd December to satisfy themselves on the car's condition, please check our buying terms and conditions for cars and bikes available online or via email. - Transportation options may be available, please contact us for a quote.

Lot 1014

1987 Renault 5 TL 'Rio' Limited Edition - Rare 'Rio' UK only Special Edition - Odometer reading 57,355 miles - One lady owned nearly 30 years - MOT expires 31st July 2022 - Cherished Registration Number comes with the vehicle Renault's '5' is a four-passenger, three or five-door, front-engine, front wheel drive hatchback supermini manufactured and marketed by one of France's most successful automobile companies over two generations: 19721985 (also called R5) and 19841996. The compact, small car market was thriving in the UK during the 1980's and the R5 was significantly Renaults best selling UK model. The second generation shape (released in 1985) featured a new transverse engine and gearbox layout, galvanised & zinc coated structural elements, improved efficiency engines, 20% greater glass area, and uprated safety features. The driving distance range of the new 1,108cc 'TL' model, when fitted with the 5-speed gearbox, on a full tank of fuel was elevated to a staggering 620 miles, equating to 68.9 mpg... a world record at the time for a spark ignition vehicle according to Renault. To accelerate sales further and draw in a younger audience, Renault UK launched a Limited Production 'Special Edition' named 'Rio' in March 1987. 4,000 cars were made available (as either a 956cc 4-speed or 1108cc 5 - speed) with a twin speaker digital stereo system, 3-position Britax glass Sunhatch roof, multi-coloured pattern fabric upholstery amongst other features. Only available in bright red or silver, all were sold out in the first few weeks of being launched. JIB 1844 (the cherished number stays with the car) was first registered in May 1987 - one of the last registered 'Rio' Special Edition cars. Specified in Bright red with the larger 1,108cc engine and optioned with 5-Speed manual gearbox. Joan Ivy Bull (JIB) purchased the car in 1991 and transferred the cherished number on to the car within the first twelve months. The Renault 5 was sparsely used, accumulating no more than 6,000 miles in the first eleven years of her ownership. The keys were lost and the car was stored in her garage until Summer 2020 when a specialist key company were asked to create new keys for the vehicle. They subsequently purchased the car, serviced and recommissioned the car for road use. The car was purchased by a young lady local to Ewbanks in the Summer of 2020 but has been driven less than 100 miles in her first 16 months of ownership. She tells us that the car always starts and been fun to drive on the occasions of her using it. There is a good quantity of new and old MOT certificates in the history file, which correlate with the current odometer reading, which remains very low at 57, 355 miles. There are a number of old V5's also, which provide a charming view of the cars history in the ownership of three ladies. The paintwork gleams beautifully and the interior looks virtually untouched, so well has it been preserved. It is a very pretty little classic which should provide fairly reliable, enjoyable and low budget classic motoring to its next owner.- Our buyers premium on all cars, motorbikes and scooters is 10% + VAT. - We encourage any interested parties to inspect the vehicle on our viewing days and prior to sale on Thursday 2nd to satisfy themselves on the car's condition, please check our buying terms and conditions for cars and bikes available online or via email. - Transportation options may be available, please contact us for a quote.

Lot 1016

1963 Mercedes-Benz 300 SE Sedan Fintail Barn Find - Comes with a collection of parts - Not complete; engine for example is not with the vehicle - Tax disk indicates it was likely last on the road in 1993 The Mercedes 300 SE was one of four models that Mercedes decided to introduce their new Fintail body style to. The 300 SEs success in the luxury sedan market had moulded the car into their flagship model, aimed at wealthy clientele. When launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1961, the 300 SE was double the cost of a Jaguar E-Type. They went on to produce over five thousand examples until production ceased in 1965 where they were superseded by the 600 Grosser. This era of luxury Mercedes is now extremely sought after due to its combination of aesthetic extravagance with matching performance from its 3-litre fuel-injected engine which produced 170BHP. This example from our checks was originally grey but has clearly been sitting for a number of years with parts being taken out. For example the vehicle is without its engine or transmission. It does however come with a large array of spares including an additional front grille, bumpers and trim alongside light clusters. Ewbanks encourages any interested parties to come to take a look at the vehicle on our viewing days prior to the sale and request a condition report to gain insight into the cars state. There is no doubt this would make a great restoration project with fully restored examples meeting high results at auction. Alternatively the car offers a great donor to another project. - Transportation options may be available, please contact us for a quote.Condition Report: Extensive corrosion on most panels of the car. Windscreen is cracked. Engine, drivers side door and transmission are not with the car and could have more missing mechanically parts. Interior looks decayed but seats have held up reasonably well from storage - they would obviously care for a refurb however. Vehicle does come with an array of parts in the boot of the vehicle and the back seat. For example another front grille, taillight clusters and bumper parts are all visible. Vehicle has no history apart from its V5c which shows 4 former keepers. Clearly the vehicle would require a serious restoration to bring it back to drivability, however, the parts should hold some considerable value due to the rarity of these examples to any sixties Mercedes enthusiast.

Lot 1017

1966 Morris 1000 Traveller - One owner for over 50 years - Odometer reading 46,500 miles, MOT & road tax exempt - Very original with matching numbers Designed by Alec Issigonis, the Traveller followed a similar practical basis as the Minor saloon with foldable rear seats useful for carrying large loads. Launched in 1953, the Traveller was one of the last cars to use a structural wood frame made from Ash and was set apart from the Minor van due to quality features such as stainless steel door window frames. In 1963, the engine grew to 1098cc, higher gearing was added and a weight reduction allowed the car to be faster on the road than the earlier models. When tested by the Motor Magazine in 1965 they praised the Traveller, exclaiming it to be for the family man with a small business or the businessman with a small family. CJO 34D offers an incredible opportunity to pick up a piece of automotive history with only two owners. Prior to the current owner, its previous keeper worked on the Oxford-based Morris 1000 assembly lines for BMC. The current vendor tells us that he was so impressed by the design and subsequent construction that he decided to purchase one for himself. The car is a testament to its low and beloved owners as the car appears in great condition underneath, inside and out. After leaving BMC, Mr Dore spent the rest of his working life at his local garage and gave up driving at the age of 83. The current owner in his 60s is parting ways in order to downsize after owning the car for around 10 years. Known very well to Ewbanks after consigning his show ready Morris Minor pickup in our September 2021 sale, he has owned multiple 1000s, always keeping them in a heated garage and only using them in the dry summer months. This is visibly apparent with the car well presented in stunning blue coachwork with blue leather - an opportunity not to be missed…

Lot 1019

1992 Mercedes-Benz 190E (W201) 2.0 Saloon - Pine Green metallic - 106,380 miles with large history file - New MOT The W201 Series '190' model was unveiled by Mercedes at the Paris Motor Show in 1982 and was the first 'compact' saloon to be released by the company. It quickly formed a reputation for superior build quality over its main rivals and set new standards of refinement in the 4-door saloon segment. 1.87 million were built across an 11-year production span. The 'E' designation on the majority of 190 models denotes the 'Electronic Fuel injection' provided by the Bosch KE-Jetronic multi-point system, which enhanced the power output of the vehicle. This particular model is a 1992 190E, specified in metallic pine green with matching upholstery and automatic transmission. It is a late example, registered the year prior to production ceasing. The history file verifies the low mileage and is made up of the original Mercedes book-pack wallet (including stamped service booklet with 13 x entries), a further invoice for service at 100,615 miles, as well as many old MOT's, other papers, Haynes Manual, V5 and spare key. This privately entered Mercedes is a very attractive modern classic with good history and presents in excellent general order.

2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0 16v 5-door 4x4 - 5-door 4x4- Bull Bar & side steps- Ten-Spoke option alloy wheels- One keeper for the last 15 years - MOT expires November 2022Launched in 1988 to provide a more substantial multi-terrain capable vehicle than the compact 'Jimny' the Vitara model was universally successful and helped to establish Suzuki as a global market 4-wheel motor manufacturer, having initially been predominantly recognised for 2-wheel motorcycles in the prior decades.Suzuki announced the second generation model in November 1997. Slightly larger, more expensive, and more powerful, it used a light-duty automobile-type rack-and-pinion steering box instead of the recirculating ball truck unit used in the first generation. Most sold in the UK used the ubiquitous 2.0 petrol, although a 1.6-litre GV1600 became available in 2001 but never matched the popularity of the 2-litre.CA02 VAV was registered in July 2002. Specd in metallic silver, it is the 5-door model with 2.0-litre engine, mated to 5-speed manual gearbox. It has 2-WD / 4-WD Transfer Case selector and is optioned with with very smart 10-spoke Suzuki alloy wheels. Other smart features include the relatively subtle front factory bull bar and polished metal side-steps. It is also fitted with anti-shatter privacy glass. The car is reported at being a pleasure to drive and very capable in all conditions. The vehicle is sold with two keys, full V5, Original Service booklet and Suzuki owners wallet. The car was advised with slightly perished CV joints during the latest MOT issued in recent weeks. The vendor has had a garage fit brand new ones and a receipt for such will be included in the history file. 1989 VW Golf Mk2 GTI 16V - Desirable 16V GTI version with low owners - Odometer reading 152,500 miles, fresh MOT ahead of sale - Atlas Grey paintwork with full recaro grey & red cloth seats The iconic car of the people VW Golf took storm in the mid seventies which aimed to be the long standing replacement for the Beatle. Awards quickly followed with the Golf fitting into the practical needs of the global public and combined with its reliability made for a great partnership. After the success of the Mk1, the second generation had large boots to fill. While a lot of purists argue in favour of the original Mk1, the Mk2s are very well received and continued to elevate the brand to a household name when new. Our Mk2 3-door example comes in Atlas Grey and features include full recaro grey and red cloth seats. The car has also benefited from a few sensible upgrades from GTI engineering based in Silverstone that includes a body kit, GTI performance wheels and floor mats. Furthermore, this is the more desirable 139bhp, 16-valve version which was lower, higher-revving and faster than the 8-valve versions. Due to being a later car, our GTI is subject to a facelift where the front side quarter lights were dropped, repositioning of controls as well as the change to a five-bar front grille. The car is also specd with a sunroof which is in great working order. This much loved car has been adored by its elderly vendor for nearly 30 years who is reluctantly parting ways in order to reclaim garage space. MOTd ahead of sale, this offers the perfect winter pickup to be enjoyed in 2022.

1976 Jaguar XJ 4.2 Series II - Low mile example - Serviced last year - British Racing green paintwork Jaguars idea of the full-sized family luxury car, the XJ became Jaguar's flagship 4-door saloon after debuting in 1968 and went on to produce five generations of the model. The series two received a minor facelift along with notable heating and A/C system upgrades to make them more reliable than the series 1s. Most commonly in the UK, they housed the 4.2 litre XJ6 straight-6 engine which could propel the car to nearly 120mph. A family owned example, past down three generations is going under the hammer. The vendor is selling on behalf of his late father who cherished the car after being passed down to him from his father. This much loved XJ comes in gorgeous British Racing green paintwork. The car comes with a decent history file which shows regular maintenance. The history indicates the car has been serviced every year whilst in the deceased ownership and the vendor exclaims that the car was dry stored in a heated garage and only used for jaunts to the golf club. With the odometer only reading 76,000 miles and coming with plenty of history showing its mechanically upkeep, our XJ offers a sound investment in a stunning traditional colour.Provenance: this vehicle is part of a deceased estate and comes with a large history file.
