A VERY FINE EIGHT DAY WALNUT LONGCASE CLOCK, by George Paker of Dublin (1701 - 1766), the moulded cornice with a chequered frieze above a square brass dial with a signed silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, subsidiary dial for seconds and date aperture, the movement with anchor escapement and inside count wheel strike, finely matted dial centre with concentric turnings, around the winders, attractive cherub leaf and crown spandrels against a herringbone and leaf engraved plate flanked with two ebonised and parcel gilt columns each with leafy capital, on a herringbone banded trunk, with a moulded arch door with oval lenticel on a conforming moulded box base with bracket feet, 89"h x 21"w (226cms x 53cms).
