A Victorian walnut tabletop stationery cabinet, 37 cm wide Condition report Report by GHHalf of the vertical piece of cockbeading between the two swinging doors is broken off. Otherwise some uneven sun fading to the top and general wear and tear. Also a couple of large scratches on the lower left hand side. Metal generally in reasonable condition, but the right hand escutcheon plate has a small loss. Also the handle for the lower drawer is off and no longer present. Internally the piece is reasonable but the pin holding the bottom drawer is bent but present. There is some loss to the inside of the right hand door and there are no letters for the date apertures.
A carriage clock, with repeat, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, fitted a movement signed S Jretypoller, striking on a gong, in a four pillar brass case, 16.5 cm high (over handle) See illustration Condition report Report by GHNo key, but the spring moves freely when the clock is rotated in the hand and briefly ticks. The front glass panel has a small chip to the top left and a larger one to the bottom left. The right hand glass panel also seems to have a small chip on the top right and the left hand glass panel has a small chip on the top left. The rear panel has a larger chip to the top right, and one of the hinge pins is missing meaning that the door can easily fall out. The enamel face has a very small hairline crack just below the centre of the dial of around 4 mm in length. Otherwise good.
