A George III cross-banded oak painted dial longcase clock, the hood with swan neck pediment and inlaid square columns, the trunk door with inlaid shell paterae, the case with boxwood strung mahogany panels, the 12 2/16" (37cm) painted dial with Arabic numerals and date aperture within flower spandrels, a cottage vignette upper half, the four-pillar eight-day movement striking on a bell, with two weights and pendulum, 51cm wide x 25cm deep x 208cm high.
A George III inlaid mahogany painted dial longcase clock, Walter Walson of Altrincham, the hood with swan neck pediment and reeded square-section columns, the shaped and boxwood strung trunk door flanked by reeded pilasters, the canted base box with boxwood strung panel, the 14" painted dial with black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, decorated with two exotic birds and spandrels of fruits and flowers, the four-pillar eight-day movement striking on a bell, with two weights and pendulum, 55.5cm wide x 27cm deep x 209cm high.
A George III inlaid oak brass dial longcase clock, the arched hood with three brass finials, the door with chequer stringing and flanked by fluted full columns, the trunk with arched door flanked by canted corners inlaid with conforming chequer stringing, the plain base box raised on a shaped foot, the 12" brass dial with silvered chapter ring having Roman hour and Arabic minute tracks, silvered subsidiary seconds and a calendar aperture, moulded spandrels to the corners and dolphin spandrels flanking a classical medallion to the arch, the eight-day four pillar movement striking on a bell, with two weights and pendulum 46cm wide x 20cm deep x 222cm high.Dial silvering worn. Pendulum stem detached from bob and lacking suspension spring and so clock has not been tested running. Movement appears sound and does wind and strike. Case and hood has some shrinkage splits to boards, especially to trunk door and right side of base box. Some minor chips and small losses in places. General cosmetic marks throughout consistent with age and use.
A George III inlaid oak and mahogany painted dial longcase clock, by Inigo Smith of Wrexham, the hood with swan-neck pediment and door flanked by fluted full columns, the trunk with shaped cross-banded door flanked by fluted quarter column pilasters, the base box with cross-banded panel, the 13" dial having black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, painted with two castle vignettes and flower spandrels, the four-pillar eight-day movement striking on a bell, with pendulum and two weights, 51cm wide x 23cm deep x 204cm high.Pendulum stem has snapped and has no suspension spring, consequently the clock has not been seen to run or tested for timekeeping. Movement appears in good order and does wind and strike, seconds and calendar advance correctly. Dial appears good with typical faint cracklure throughout and some wear/chipping to the paint on the outer edges. Hood lacking central finial, probably originally brass. Base box lacking foot or feet. Case overall fair to good with some cosmetic marks consistent with age and use. Left hand cornice beneath hood has a small loss to the front corner and there is a small chip to the top of the trunk door. A latch has been added to keep the trunk door closed. There is no door key or winder with this clock.
A Victorian mahogany veneered, 8-day longcase clock, indistinctly signed 'R.Ca?mmack, Ormskirk', the hood with a broken swan-neck pediment and a signed 14" dial with painted spandrels, Roman numerals and a subsidiary dials for date and seconds, over a short double arched trunk door, with weights, key and pendulum, approximately 240cm high (6)Hood - top door rail and sides with hairline cracks and chips. Overall - ok and nicely figured case. Lacking winder. Not operational in vendor's home.
