A PAINTED WARDROBE IN 18TH CENTURY STYLE 20TH CENTURY Bearing date 1826 to the cupboard door, enclosing a hanging rail 168cm high, 97cm wide, 47cm deep Condition Report: As catalogued this is of 20th century make but in an earlier style, would appear to have signs of 'aging' to give the appearance of an antique example, with surface 'wear', 'chips' 'distressing'. Some splits and cracks, some chips and losses, some unevenness overall The interior is unfinished pine, has supports for a shelf that has never been present at Dreweatts - if wished one would need to be sourced by the purchaser - it now has a hanging rail There is an old lock but no key, the door is open at time of report Overall solid and stableSome signs of old woodworm Please see additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
AN OAK DRESSER BASE MID 18TH CENTURY The drawers with mitre-moulded fronts and with a pair of conforming cupboard doors 87cm high, 183cm wide, 47cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and useSplits and cracks, chips and losses, both cupboard door most noticeably split down the length. Handles appear to occupy the original holes, no obvious signs of others having been fitted, the locks all look old too, the escutcheons match the handles - the lowest drawer of the central 'bank' has a lock but the escutcheon hasn't got a key hole, again this element matches the handles and other escutcheons. At some point this has been stood on an uneven floor and one rear leg has been raised which now means the dresser base sits unevenly on our flat floor - some work may be required on installation to ensure it stands firmly when in a domestic setting There are some chips and losses to the timber and veneersThe top surface with old split, and also some marks and staining including ring marks and othersPlease see additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
