A George III mahogany breakfront linen press or housekeepers cupboard, outlined and detailed with serrated and checkered band inlay, the architectural pediment above a pair of fielded panelled cupboard doors opening to three oak sliding trays, flanked by a pair of conforming cupboard doors enclosing an arrangement of sliding shelves, the base with four central graduated and cock-beaded oak lined drawers, the upper drawer opening to a compartmentalised interior with two side opening secret drawers, applied with pierced brass back plates and swing handles, flanked by cupboard doors opening to sliding trays, upon a plinth base, 256 H x 249cm W x 68cm DCondition report30cm length of beading missing from middle RH door, LH door has dropped and catches when the door opens, the same door has a 70cm split running from the top.Moulding to the top of the base is loose on both sides, with an 8cm chip to the LHS, the RHS with moulding missing from the top side.All four drawers are tight and at fault, with various splits and losses, the second drawer having a detached slither, 15cm long.There is a 5cm hole to the backboards in the RH cupboard.The cupboard is in structurally sound condition, however it will require a degree of restoration and tidying.
A George III oak and mahogany crossbanded breakfront housekeepers cupboard, the moulded cornice above a pair of astragal glazed cupboard doors, flanked by two further cupboard doors, upon the base with an arrangement of nine drawers and a central single cupboard door, applied with ebonised drawer pulls and escutcheons, upon bracket feet, 202cm H x 212cm W x 62cm D (at fault)Condition reportBase measurement (rather than cornice) 204cm W x 54cm DTwo cracked panes, a 21cm cutaway section that has been re-attached in the cornice, please see additional image.The cornice appears to have bowed slightly causing the LH cupboard door to rub, LH rear side part of the bracket foot is detached, bottom LH drawer feels tight.Some minor losses to drawer beading along with general light splits, scuffs, gouges, marks and fading.Overall the cupboard appears to be structurally sound although it would benefit from some light restoration, a clean and polish, as it was removed in genuine untouched condition from a county border farmhouse property.
A George III oak cased eight-day longcase clock, indistinctly signed Leicester, the hood with a twin swan neck pediment over a pair of freestanding fluted columns flanking the painted break arch dial, with an oval cartouche depicting Britannia above the 33cm dial applied with Arabic numerals, centred with a subsidiary second dial and date aperture, signed with the makers name and enclosing the four pillar two train movement striking on a saucer bell, the case with a dentil frieze above a shaped and crossbanded door inlaid with a central conch shell and flanked by conforming quarter pilasters, above the lower board similarly inlaid and embraced by canted corners, upon a plinth base with integral bracket feet, 230cm high, two weights and pendulum, glass measurement 45cm H x 33cm W

A 19th century scumbled pine housekeepers cupboard, formed with an arrangement of four cupboard doors over a further four cupboard doors, upon bracket feet, 183cm H x 183cm W x 50cm D, lacking cornice (at fault)Condition reportAll hinges replaced with losses and damage around the original hinge beds, all doors with chips and losses to the edges, bottom RH door has splits with a brace added to the inside of the door, later re-stained which may hide further faults.A timber spar has been added to the rear underside of the cupboard to replace the two rear feet, no visible signs of worm although it is possible to the underside and disguised by the later staining.General marks, losses, chips and wear commensurate with age and use.The cupboard was removed from a border counties farmhouse in an untouched condition .We believe it to be third quarter 19th century.
Gabriel Viardot (French, 1830-1906). Aesthetic movement chinoiserie cabinet. The rectangular top with raised ends houses a bronze dragon with pierced fretwork over a glazed door and opening to an arrangement of shelves, with one drawer with an archaistic style taotie mask pull with a red velvet backing. On a pierced fretwork apron and shaped bracket feet.Provenance: From the Estate of Horst Rechelbacher, Osceola, Wisconsin.Horst Rechelbacher, the founder of Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients, was a pioneer in the field of safe and eco-friendly cosmetics. The same curiosity that led him to explore ways to improve the beauty industry led him to travel the world, collecting rare and beautiful objects as he went.Height: 61 in x width: 38 1/2 in x depth: 16 in.Condition: The cabinet is in good condition overall. The structure is stable and sturdy. There are no major losses and no visible repairs. The locking mechanism has been removed. The dragon is present but unattached. The drawer and door open and close smoothly. The glass is in good condition, with no chips, cracks, or scratches. Some wear to the velvet. Some wear and splitting to the veneer along the shelves; the bottom shelf shows signs of moisture exposure. Wear throughout as expected with age and use.

George III oak longcase clock, square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, signed Robert Jones, with date aperture, eight day movement, the case with triangular pediment, long door, panelled plinth, height 210cm.Condition report:Pendulum, weights and key present. The last additional image shows list of recent (2015) work carried out by a local clock restorer. The block that the movement sits on and some of the blocks under this are clearly replaced. Some replaced sections of oak to the hood. The trunk and case panelling have some splits occurring (some natural along the grains) but generally the condition of the case is ok.

Movement appears complete. Dial appears repainted. Movement blocks have been refurbished/ replaced. Various old repairs and restoration throughout the hood and case by way of veneers, some existing splitting through drying out.

Clock not set up in the saleroom to determine if movement in working order or complete. Back panel of the case has been replaced. No evidence of worm. Some movement in the door to the hood, other than just opening/ closing. Base of the case is split and moulding loose.

Downs, Louth, broken swan neck hood, oak case with mahogany crossbanding, inlaid arched door with star motif, overall height 215cm.Condition report:Pendulum is present but no weights or key. Minute hand loose but present (takes to reverse of face). Clock removed from long term storage and doesn't appear to have been in working order/ installed for some years. Heavy discolouration to the dial and moon phase. Case with evidence of worm, all over losses and general poor finish/ patina. No glass in the hood.
