EARLY 19TH CENTURY SCHOOL "Harriet Hay, dau of William 16th Earl of Erroll, Wife of Daniel Gurney", portrait study, half length, oil on canvas, unsigned, titled upper left, 84 cm x 64 cm CONDITION REPORTS Has had restoration work. See images taken under UV for more detail. There is an area of flaking / loss where the paint work is missing to her collar bone area, as well as to one of the roses and other small sections throughout. There is a large heavy scratched area to the very top of the door. The image has clearly rubbed in its frame / slips at some point. Has possibly been put on a different stretcher previously - there are various old pinholes to the canvas. In need of a very good clean. Has heavy crazing throughout. See images for further detail.
