2006 Bentley Continental GTRegistration no. SEW 550Chassis no. SCBCE63WX6C037665Engine no. 019742Odometer reading. 32,000MOT expiry date. 14/06/2021*One owner from new and in the best colour combination*Fully serviced regularly with full service and MOT history*Always garaged and in outstanding conditionThe Bentley Continental GT was the Volkswagen Group's first flying B car and what a magnificent debut it was. Launched in 2003, the company really excelled itself - in a daring riposte to BMW and Mercedes-Benz's V12 engines, the Continental GT boasted a W12 motor with twin turbochargers and no less than 48 valves. A development of the technology that the Group had learned with VR6 engines but engineered and manufactured in Great Britain, the W12 is a masterpiece of compact design and a pinnacle of smoothness and sophistication. The fine GT that we present here has a most fitting registration number - SEW 550 - it really does run like a beautifully balanced 550 bhp sewing machine! With just one owner from new and in generally very good condition throughout, this GT has always been garaged, by night and day, when not on the road. It has been little used, hence the low mileage, but has been serviced and cosseted in accordance with its calendar requirements as well as by mileage covered. It was last inspected and serviced in November 2018 and has covered very little mileage since, and all the service records and history are available to view.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 81/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Based on the standard 560 SEC, the AMG featured the same 300bhp 5.6-litre V8, but bored out to 6.0-litres – boosting the power to 385bhp. This additional power helped propel the car from 0-60 in under 6 seconds – a phenomenal figure at the time for a vehicle of this stature. Inside, the AMG was also equipped with electronically adjustable Recaro seats, additional walnut wood trim, an AMG specific steering wheel, and chrome door sills. It is the opinion of many that the 560 SEC AMG was, and still ,is the ultimate AMG Mercedes. Built in October 1989, the example shown here was originally ordered new from a dealership in Munich, Germany. Various optional extras were fitted to the car from factory such as automatic climate control, a fire extinguisher and heated front seats. The car is in very good condition inside and out, and features the correct Blue-Black metallic paint and black leather interior. Overall the car runs well and is in very good condition, and comes with a good history file. Imported to the UK by its enthusiast owner in 2017, the AMG has sat in his private collection virtually unused. Benefitting from a recent service and MOT the AMG is ready to use. The official production figures for the Wide Body AMGs are unknown, but believed to be just 26 - the cars are exceptionally rare and difficult to come by. This is a prime opportunity to own one of the greatest Mercedes AMGs ever produced.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 78/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SprintRegistration no. 569 UYVChassis no. AR 1493 08616Odometer reading: 89,848kmsMOT expiry date: Exempt*Low mileage with good history*Good paintwork and interior trim*A stylish sports GT *Left-hand driveThe 750 and 101 Giulietta series was Alfa Romeo's first foray into the 1,300cc class and proved immensely popular; it probably saved the carmaker. With its beautifully balanced design and jewel-like 1,290cc twin overhead cam engine, it found nearly 180,000 buyers in berlina, spider and various coupe forms, in its production run from 1954 to 1965. Of course many have succumbed to corrosion and neglect but the example seen here has obviously been cherished and preserved beautifully. Delivered in March 1959 to a customer in Italy, according to its Alfa Romeo Centro Documentazione Provenance document, this Giulietta was originally Bianco Gardenia but is now presented in a beautiful period dark blue, with a lovely correct blue/grey vinyl and cloth interior. Purchased by the present owner at the 2016 Automotoretro fair in Padua, Italy, it has been mechanically and electrically restored by marque experts DTR Sports Cars at a cost of some £30,000 (bills available) in 2020. This is a matching numbers car, fitted with the rare 5 speed gearbox option and an expensive handling kit which makes it even sweeter to drive. A great opportunity to acquire a Giulietta that is a delight to drive and just as pleasing on the eye. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 93/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1969 Lotus Seven Series 3Registration no. H3299BBD (Spanish Historic Registration)Chassis no. LSB 2454Frame no. BL2162Odometer reading: 9,878 miles* Matching numbers car * Two private owners from new* Lotus Classic Certificate of Vehicle ProvenanceWhen the Lotus Seven was launched in 1957, designed by the legendary Colin Chapman, it was far ahead of any other sports racing cars of the era. The car was so right first time, it is still in production today, as the Caterham. It is the second most copied car on the planet. Lotus produced the classic Seven through until 1970, the Series 3 benefiting from a strengthened chassis, wider wheels and tyres, slightly wider and strengthened Ford Escort Mexico back axle, exterior fuel filler, and even a fuel guage! This Lotus is a genuine factory built Seven that was released from Lotus Components in Hethel on the 18th April 1969, and shipped to the Lotus distributor in Canada. The optional extras were stated to be mag/alloy wheels and a heater. It was part of the very last batch of approximately 70 LHD now classic Lotus 7s assembled by the factory. It was purchased by an enthusiast in Calgary, who had a small car collection, and used it mainly for the local car club events. The last recorded competition event was on the 11th September 1979, although it is said to have participated in hill climbs in the early 80s, after which the car was put in to dry storage. The Lotus changed hands for the first and only time in 2012 at 8238 miles, when the present owner shipped the car to Spain, via the UK. Whilst in the UK it was inspected by the Lotus Seven Registrar, who confirmed that it is a genuine, original Lotus. It still had the original tyres, so it was refitted with Pirelli Cinturatos, so that it could be driven safely, and pass the Spanish ITV. It had all of the original equipment, the hood and seat belts pretty much unused. The aluminium body bore the scars of a few competition mishaps, and after 42 years was too brittle to restore properly, the chassis had been oversprayed in silver with a rattle can, in an effort to enhance the appearance. It had also been modernised with Caterham wings and rear lights, which have now been replaced with the correct items. The chassis was sent to Xtra Special Sevens, checked to be rust free, and in perfect alignment. It was powder coated in Lotus grey, and a beautiful new aluminium skin hand formed around the chassis, by a skilled craftsman. Wherever possible the original parts and components were cosmetically restored, the bolts re plated/re chromed, the mag alloy wheels re finished to concours standard. When you sit in this car, you are sitting on the original seat fabric, holding the original Springall steering wheel, and looking at the original dashboard. Even the carpet over the transmission tunnel, is the original item. Compare the black and white picture of the engine bay taken from the Series 3 section of the Lotus Seven Register, with the colour picture, it is identical, right down to the Barnacle suction rear view mirror. Even the exhaust silencer and tail pipe were remanufactured to the original pattern and it has the correct Thorpe PT 675 brake/stop/side lights. It must surely be one of the most correct Lotus Seven Series 3s.The sidescreens are original, although the old opaque plastic windows have been replaced, and the hood, frame and fittings are totally original. This lightweight Lotus is powered by the original Ford Cortina GT crossflow engine, with the Weber 32 DFM twin choke downdraught carburettor. During the rebuild the ignition was upgraded to an electronic distributor head, which combined with a new coil gives a much improved and reliable spark.Whilst the chassis was being refinished, as a matter of house keeping, the gearbox was stripped and checked and rebuilt, and later the rear axle was also rebuilt with a new crown wheel and pinion, to the correct standard ratio of 3.77:1. The clutch plate was renewed whilst the engine and gearbox were out of the car. All of the serviceable bolts and fixings were retained, re plated and reused. The front brake calipers were serviced and replated, new discs and pads fitted, and the rear brakes received new cylinders and brake shoes. The brake and clutch master cylinders were also serviced. The front suspension components were media blasted and re finished in Lotus Grey, the cast components were ceramic coated to keep the surface good for many years. The Spax shock absorbers were repainted, and new logos applied. The 4 branch header and exhaust system were also ceramic coated in a period silver, for a durable and attractive finish.During the present owner's tenure, the Lotus twice entered the annual Classics and Legends event at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, and had an outing with the South of France Lotus Seven group, for a blast up Mont Ventoux. It also won a concours trophy immediately after restoration at the Marina Alta Classic Car Club. The really great news about a Lotus Seven as a classic car, is that although 50 years old, it keeps up with and will even out perform many modern cars, and has an aluminium body that will not rust. With the Caterham versions still in production today, outwardly unchanged, this car still looks perfectly at home on the roads of the 21st Century as it did in the 60s.. As an added bonus, it is a real head turner.During the research of the car's provenance, a gentleman from Calgary was in touch. In 1973 he actually viewed the car as a possible purchase. Sadly the car was well over his budget at the time, and he settled for a cheaper more used model, which he still owned at the time of the correspondence. Interestingly he was reunited with our car in 2012 as it was being prepared for shipping, and confirmed that it was the same car he viewed in '73. There is a signed document from him to support this history. This car comes with a NOVA certificate, so that it has cleared customs and can be registered in the UK, and the Spanish registration papers which should enable registration world wide. This Lotus would sit well in any collection, but is no 'trailer queen', and could equally be enjoyed for fun days out.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 93/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1963 Porsche 356C CoupéRegistration no. TBAChassis no. 127210Odometer reading: 88,733MOT Expiry: N/A *Very original 356C*Supplied new to Sonauto Porsche in France*Maintained with Porsche parts only The Porsche 356 was Porsche's first ever production car and is arguably one of the world's greatest sports cars. Originally introduced in 1948, the 356 had a 17 year production run with the 356C being the last revision before the introduction of the 911 in 1964. The 356C's performance was enhanced significantly when it was introduced in 1963, and was offered with disk brakes and dampened steering. These additions made the car much more responsive than the 356B, and arguably more enjoyable to drive. Other features that helped to distinguish the 356C from its A and B predecessors include revised bodywork (identified by dual air intakes on the engine lid), and larger front and rear windows. This example is a European specification car and was originally delivered new to Sonauto Porsche, France in 1963. The car was then imported to Lebanon in 2015 where the current owner acquired the car in 2019. The car has been maintained meticulously with Porsche parts and is very original and believed unrestored, yet also refreshed with some new parts. The exterior and interior of the car is in very good condition, and the car runs and drives very well and as it should. The 356C is a historic and revered Porsche that helped lay the foundations of the Porsche sports cars that is renowned today. This example will offer a new owner the opportunity to own and enjoy the car for many years to come. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 81/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1983 Matra MurenaRegistration no. A692 EHNChassis no. DX 704441EEngine no. N/AOdometer reading: 114,393 (184,099 kilometres)MOT expiry date: 03/02/22 * A rare model of an idiosyncratic sports car* Mechanically totally overhauled with significant performance upgrades* Good history with previous ownership of 27 yearsThe Matra Murena is a rare car in any form and this example is particularly special. At the last count there were only 18 Murenas on the road in the UK, the majority of which are 1.6s, this example is the only one with this engine specification, having a 2.2 litre motor that has been tuned to give more power than the top of the range 'S' model. The engine was rebuilt by Roy Gillard of Redwood Repairs and consisted of a reground crankshaft, re-bored block, water pump reconditioned, cylinder head replaced, and a new camshaft especially made by Piper Cams. Invoice on file. The engine was converted to accept twin reconditioned 45mm Dellorto carburettors and was set up on a rolling road where it achieved 144 bhp. Putting all this power down is a new clutch on a lightened flywheel and a 10% higher top gear has been fitted. The suspension and cooling systems have been overhauled and upgraded, including replacement trailing arms, a known weak point. These and the complete chassis have been extensively Waxoiled, part for works totalling more than £6,600. The coachwork was repainted some 20 years ago but is wearing its age well. A rare example ready to be enjoyed. 1975 Rolls-Royce CornicheCoachwork by H J Mulliner, Park Ward Ltd.Registration no. JBN 549NChassis no. CRH19358Odometer reading: 94,330MoT expiry date: exempt*One of the last coachbuilt Rolls-Royces*Previously registered in Canada*Last MoT'd in 2010Recalling its glamorous Grandes Routières of pre-war days such as the Phantom II Continental, Rolls-Royce's final coachbuilt models - entrusted to the company's in-house coachbuilder Mulliner, Park Ward - were limited to just two: a two-door coupé or similar convertible, the former arriving in March 1966 and the latter in September the following year. The cars were hand built in the best traditions of British coachbuilding using only materials of the finest quality, including Wilton carpeting, Connolly hide, and burr walnut veneers, a necessarily lengthy process that took all of 20 weeks for the saloon and slightly longer for the more complex convertible. This painstaking attention to detail resulted in a price some 50% higher than the standard Silver Shadow's. Nevertheless, demand for these more glamorous alternatives to the much more numerous Shadow was strong right from the start, a state of affairs that resulted in them being given their own model name - 'Corniche' - in March 1971. Despite its sky-high asking price, the model proved a major success for Rolls-Royce; periodically revised and up-dated, it remained in production well into the 1990s, the last (Convertible) examples being delivered in 1995.it was once registered in British Columbia, Canada and last MoT'd in 2010, the car comes with a large history file including numerous bills and recent expenditure.Footnotes:Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereVendor Score Total: 61/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. SALLDHA67VA121591Odometer reading: circa 151,000MoT expiry date: TBC*2.5-litre turbo diesel engine*Restored during 2019*Converted to accommodate a bed in the rearFollowing the successful reception of the all-new Land Rover Discovery in 1989, it was decided to give the traditional Land Rover its own name: Defender. Despite, or perhaps because of, being recognisable related to the very first Land Rover of 1948, the Defender retained a steadfastly loyal customer base; indeed, in the UK in 2013 it even managed to out-sell the Range Rover. Restored during 2019, this single-cab Defender 110 TDi pickup has been converted to accommodate a bed in the rear, as well as a sink and gas hob, for the vendor's son to take to music festivals and other events. 1971 Fiat 500LRegistration no. APN 938KChassis no. 2836624Odometer reading: 53,975MOT Expiry: N/A*RHD example*Previously restored*Unique sports exhaustThe Fiat 500L, or 500 'Lusso' as it was known, was produced between 1967-1975 and was essentially a better appointed version of the standard 500. The car featured an additional chrome bar on the front fascia, updated interior, black steering wheel, plastic dash, plus reclining seats and carpets. This 1971 example is in excellent condition and has been previously restored. The car has plenty of receipts on file from a previous owner who undertook the restoration, with the bodywork and paint appointed by Weenie Fiats in the West Country. There are also receipts for a 650cc engine that was purchased in Italy, as well as receipts for Fiat 124 pistons that were fitted in 2010. The sump is also an Abarth replica, and the car has a sports exhaust. The car runs very well, and the little twin carb engine together with the sports exhaust add to the already enjoyable driving experience. The car was also photographed for a Christmas advertising campaign for Jo Malone perfumes, however it is not known whether the images were officially used in print. The car is well finished inside and out, and the paint and interior trim present particularly well. Overall the car is in excellent condition and would prove to be a very enjoyable classic runabout. On a recent test drive this little wolf in sheep's clothing performed faultlessly, a spirited drive, excellent performance and sporty sounds with no undue rattles or noises from within its comfortable cabin.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 88/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1950 Land Rover Series I 80 InchRegistration no. 849 EYFChassis no. R06105133Odometer reading: N/AMOT Expiry: N/A*Immaculate example*Recent full restoration by two long term Land Rover Enthusiasts*Rebuilt engine with 14 miles covered since rebuild *All main components, including axles stripped & rebuilt The Land Rover Series I (80' Lights behind the grille) is the ultimate classic. Not only is the car instantly recognisable, but it can also serve a very useful and practical purpose if desired. This example shown here is in immaculate condition and has just received a full restoration from the ground up. The engine, a 2-litre Siamese bore (visually identical to the 1.6 litre), has been professionally machined by a Land Rover specialist and has been fully rebuilt using Cox and Turner parts. The car runs and drives very well and pulls quietly and smoothly as it should. The original radiator dating from 1950 is in excellent condition, with a new Cox and Turner water pump and correct period hoses from CKD Ltd. The gearbox has also been stripped, inspected and rebuilt with new parts where necessary. The axles have been stripped and rebuilt with new parts, including new wheel bearings all-round as well as new swivels and seals. The Tracta joints are also in excellent condition. In terms of the braking system, there is a new master cylinder, new lines, wheel cylinders, reservoir, hoses and shoes all-round. The handbrake mechanism has also been fully rebuilt. The car also has its original chassis which is in excellent condition, invisibly restored where necessary, and painted to match the body. Inside, the dash panel has been fully restored. All the dials and warning lights are working as they should, as is the choke and hand-throttle control. There is also a new Autosparks full period wiring loom and a new dynamator with original control box. New indicators have also been fitted discreetly, along with the original trafficators which have been restored (and work independently from the indicators). New spade seats have also been fitted, along with a brand-new canvas hood and sticks supplied by Undercover Covers UK.The bodywork is in excellent condition. The original panels were media-blasted to bare metal and then fully resprayed to a very high standard in Deep Bronze Green (2K) paint. The tub has been fully restored along with a new floor and rear bulkhead fitted by CKD, so the rear can be used with ease by a new owner. CKD also supplied a new tailgate, wings and doors (with seals). The cappings, fittings and frames have been re-galvanised and refitted with using correct rivets. The car comes with a V5, all bills and a photographic record of the restoration. It also has a Gaydon Heritage Certificate showing it was first delivered to the Ministry of Supply in 1950.This restoration has been untaken with respect to the original car and to the highest of standards. The car should certainly stand the test of time in the years to come. Externally, the bumpers were changed from chrome to aluminium alloy and rubber. This Rolls-Royce was purchased new by the present family owners from H R Owen in 1978 and was in dry garaged storage, on jacks, from 1980 until 2019. It was restored by N. 1971 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I SaloonRegistration no. TUF 976JChassis no. LRH9764Odometer reading: 69,534MOT Expiry: Expired 03/05/2019 *Low mileage Silver Shadow*Honest example*Mostly original The Silver Shadow is one of the most important and iconic vehicles ever produced by Rolls-Royce. The epitome of luxury in 1965, the Silver Shadow was in production for 15 years and proved extremely popular for a vehicle at this price point. Notable owners of the Silver Shadow include the likes of Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Mohammed Ali, Dean Martin, Johnny Cash, and many more. The car is renowned for bringing Rolls-Royce into the modern era, debuting unitary construction, disc brakes, independent rear suspension and automotive self-levelling. This example is a honest low mileage car, and is largely original. The car drives very well with no apparent issues, and overall is in good condition. The car was purchased by the vendor for a magazine shoot and is supplied with photographs of invoices and expired tax discs. The previous owner to the vendor had a fire and lost all the original documents, but luckily he had photographed the documents all for his insurance previously, so there is plenty of history that comes with the car. The previous owner of 8 years and the owner beforehand for 30 years. The interior is also in an original condition with some wear on the seats. The paintwork does have some imperfections and touched in areas which could be improved if desired, or simply use as is.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 58/100 Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. Originally developed from the TR2, the TR3 provides an enjoyable drive from its hearty engine and refined chassis. Essentially a facelift of the standard TR3, the TR3A offered a new wider front grille, exterior door handles, a lockable boot, and full tool kit. A full restoration of the car was carried out in 2010 by TR specialists, so the car presents very well. The car is finished in this stunning Wedgwood blue colour scheme with the dark blue leather interior. The side screens, tonneau, hood cover are also new and in superb condition. The engine and gearbox were rebuilt in the restoration with the cylinder head converted to unleaded, adding an element of usability. Other enhancements include a new rack and pinion steering system, servo disc brakes, alternator, overdrive, electronic ignition, Kenlowe electric fan and bluetooth audio with aux. The car also has a good history file including all the handbooks. The car runs and drives very well and feels very tight, with the additional upgrades adding to the driving enjoyment and usability. The Property of a Gentleman and Racing Enthusiast1968 Triumph TR250Registration no. N/AChassis no. CD1856LOdometer reading: 56602MOT expiry date: N/A * Good condition body and frame from US dry state* Comes with large quantity of spare parts* Low mileage and appears complete and originalFootnotes:The Triumph TR250 was the US version of the TR5, substituting Stromberg carburettors for the TR5's fuel injection in order to meet the more stringent US emissions requirements. This older restored TR250 was imported from the US in 2011 and comes with a host of bills for parts. The engine was rebuilt just prior to being imported, in 2011. The car was taxed in California from 1986-91 and a copy of the US title is present, issued in the state of Oregon. All duties and taxes have been paid but not yet UK registered. The TR250 is running and driving well and is an ideal candidate for either conversion to TR5 specification or use and enjoy as it is, after some tidying up and repainting. 1995 Bentley Turbo RRegistration no. M315 RMSChassis no. SCBZR15C3TCH57067Odometer reading: 76,350MOT Expiry: 23/02/2022*Dry stored*Low mileage*MOT February 2022The Bentley Turbo R is one of the most significant performance saloons produced by Bentley during its history. Not only was the car incredibly luxurious but it was also very powerful, producing 384bhp from its turbocharged 6.75 litre V8. This rare short wheelbase example of the 1996 Model year specification was initially retained by Rolls Royce as a company car and has been resprayed and is finished in Diamond Blue Silver 'Lechler Special Mix' livery and strikingly furnished with wild berry leather upholstery with a full sheepskin over-rug set as well as having its original toolkit, triangle and jack in fitted compartments in the boot. The car sits on original factory specified 17' Continental 'R' wheels. This low mileage 1995 example is in excellent condition and runs and drives very well and as it should. Overall, the bodywork and leather and wood interior presents very well bar a slight mismatch of paint on the wings and some small rust spots. The current owner purchased the car from a Bonhams Auction in 2009 from a past chairman of the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club, and has stored the car in a dry garage since taking ownership. The car has been kept running and used sparingly once or twice a week. The vendor had been advised by a previous owner that the car had belonged to the Chairman of Rolls-Royce when Bentley and Rolls-Royce were under the same ownership. The car comes with its original service book (plus full history) and is fully stamped with receipts. The car has recently been fully serviced with a new MOT expiring February 2022.Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 98/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1961 Mercedes-Benz 300d 'Adenauer' LimousineRegistration no. 440 XUGChassis no. 189.010.22.002641Odometer reading: 63,485MoT expiry date: exempt*The last word in automotive luxury in its day*Automatic transmission*Rare right-hand drive model*Superb history file with thousands spentIntroduced in 1951, the Mercedes-Benz 300 owed the design of its independently suspended oval-tube chassis to the 170S of 1949, and would later provide the mechanical basis for the incomparable 300 SL sports car. Additional refinements appropriate for the company's top-of-the-range luxury saloon included an improved steering mechanism and remote electrical control of the rear suspension ride height. Initially developing 115bhp (DIN), the 3.0-litre, overhead-camshaft six-cylinder engine was increased in power for succeeding models. Other improvements included larger brakes (with servo-assistance from 1954); optional power steering; and three-speed automatic transmission as standard on the 300d. Custom built by Mercedes-Benz's most experienced craftsmen, the conservatively styled 300 was luxuriously appointed and trimmed with materials of the highest quality. Fast and elegant, it was one of very few contemporary vehicles capable of carrying six passengers in comfort at sustained high speeds. It was the car of choice among West German government officials, and throughout Europe and the USA was widely favoured by businessmen, financiers, and politicians. Indeed, 'Adenauer' became the 300 saloon/limousine's unofficial model name, after German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, its most famous customer. This 'Adenauer' formerly belonged to Sir Freddie Laker. There are numerous bills on file amounting to vast sums spent on the vehicle, which include a full respray and interior trimming. which is vendor-rated as in very good condition and comes with an old-style logbook, article trimmings featuring the car and various model related manufacturers brochures/manuals.Footnotes:Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereVendor Score Total: 61/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1946 Standard Flying 8 TourerRegistration no. JZ 82Chassis no. NA16735T4Engine no. NA 16811EOdometer reading. 56,301MOT expiry date. N/A*One owner from new and in the best colour combination*Fully serviced regularly with full service and MOT history*Always garaged and in outstanding conditionThe Standard Flying 8 (known simply as the Standard 8 after World War II) was a significant car for the Standard Motor Company as the name ran from the pre-war years right through to the introduction of the Triumph Mayflower and then the Herald, as the Standard brand name was phased out. Notable in having an aluminium cylinder to its 1,009cc 28 bhp engine, the 8 was pitched squarely against competition from the Morris Eight and Austin 8. The tourer we present here is slightly more sprightly than the saloon as it is a little lighter and this example has excellent coachwork and paint, with a nicely patinated full grey leather interior and good weather equipment. It was restored in 1989 and has obviously been sympathetically enjoyed since. It runs and drives very well and has a good history file available.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 82/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. It is thought to be the only surviving 15GTL in the UK and it runs and drives very well, having just been through the owner's workshop for a thorough check over. Its charming period blue velour interior is in good order and the only work apparently needing attention is a little corrosion below the rear window.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 46/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1964 Mercedes-Benz 220 SEb 'Fintail' SaloonRegistration no. 923 YNYChassis no. 111-041-200S8721Odometer reading: 21,693 milesMOT Expiry: Exempt*Rare UK RHD example*Low mileage*Manual *Sold for restorationMercedes-Benz unveiled the 220SEb at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1959. The SEb featured an elegant design, offering a wider radiator shell, wrap around windscreen, wider rear window, vertically positioned headlamps and discrete tailfins. The high purchase price meant that relatively few were sold in the UK, most with the automatic transmission. This example is still wearing its original Havana Brown paintwork, and is not only right-hand drive, but also a manual. Inside the car retains many original features but will require work. The car is in need of a full restoration inside and out. The engine starts and holds good oil pressure, but will require work to get moving having been in storage for many years. The W111 Fintail is a desirable classic, and this example offers the opportunity to create a new lease of life for the car. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 38/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The Property of a Gentleman and Racing Enthusiast1973 Jaguar XJC PrototypeRegistration no. OHP 21MChassis no. 2J1002BWOdometer reading: 72,562MOT expiry date: N/A * Prototype car used for press demonstrations - with history* Coachwork restored to excellent standard* Many spare parts including two complete interiors Jaguar produced 9,378 two-door XJ coupés with a pillarless hardtop body between 1975 and 1978. The car was originally shown at the London Motor Show in October 1973, and this prototype being offered is body number 5J1002. A very significant car as it heralds the teething troubles of this model - window sealing and roof problems were resolved with much development work and by covering the roofs of the production cars with vinyl. The coupé was based on the short-wheelbase version of the XJ and is a very elegant and unusual gentleman's sporting car. This example was used by Jaguar as a press demonstration car and thus would have been carefully fettled to give the best impression of the new model. There are letters on file confirming its press loan usage.Restoration has commenced on this example and the bodywork - the hard work - has been completed to a high standard; the coachwork is described as being straight and the car is presented in a primer coat, which allows prospective buyers to properly judge its condition. There is a wealth of spare parts including complete leather and cloth interiors and numerous receipts from Jaguar specialist parts suppliers such as David Manners. 1997 Rover Mini CooperRegistration no. R704 AKEChassis no. XNNAZEBD142022Odometer reading: 33,734MOT Expiry: Expired 2016 *Genuine UK car*Offered for restoration*Last on the road 2016 The Rover Mini was the final take on the iconic Alec Issigonis designed car, and the last original Mini to be produced. Officially known as the Mark VII, the Rover Mini offered features not seen before in the car, such as a driver's side airbag, side impact protection beams, and additional sound insulation. These features, including revised front seats, arguably made the Mark VII the most comfortable and usable version of the classic Mini. This example, which has been off the road since 2016, provides an incoming owner the opportunity of restoration. The bodywork will require some attention and welding due to rot on the inner and outer sills, however included in the sale are 2 door skins, front and rear panels, outer sills and sill tops. The car runs well, but the clutch fluid leaks so not drivable currently. The interior is in good condition but will require cleaning. There is also a small history file with the car including new and old V5Cs, 7 MOTs, and several invoices.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 84/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. FAA11/239024Odometer reading: 70,067MOT Expiry: N/A * Low mileage* Running, rolling restoration* Unique black exterior with red leather interiorThe Alec Issigonis designed Morris Minor has served a useful purpose as an everyday car since its introduction in 1948. This is still an aspect to the car that is still true today, with the car offering potential for everyday use if desired. This example is a 1954 Minor Series II and is being sold for recommissioning or restoration. The car was last on the road in 2015, the engine fitted is a later engine which starts and runs well and has low mileage. The bodywork and wheels are in good condition but with small rust patches in places (the chrome will also require some attention). There is little history with the car but the electrics, gearbox, clutch and general running gear are in sound condition. The interior of the car presents well and should not require much attention. There is certainly great potential.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 48/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. This early UK supplied example was sold in January 1974 to the registered keeper who owned the car for 47 years. A restoration of the car was started some 40 years ago, however only a few panels were removed and the project was put on hold. The car has been in the owner's dry storage ever since awaiting restoration, and is now being sold due to retirement and redevelopment of the storage location. All removed parts are being sold with the car, plus spare components such as a gearbox, engine parts, panels, switches and gauges. The car also comes with a log book, V5, and some paperwork. T7745 (not UK registered)Chassis no. 382799Odometer reading: N/AMOT Expiry: N/A *RHD example*Dry stored*50 year ownership span with single owner from 1974*Sold for restoration The Lancia Aprilia was considered the spiritual testament of the company founder, Vincenzo Lancia, when it was launched in October 1936 with its streamlined design. This early Series 1 example was imported to the UK from Kenya in 1971, and then sold in June 1974 to the current owner. Since it was purchased the car has been in dry storage and awaiting restoration, however this never materialised and the car is now being sold due to retirement and redevelopment of the storage location. The car comes with various documents including a Kenyan vehicle licence from 1958, a customs document from October 1971, and other correspondences. Originally supplied green, it is believed the car was painted red in Kenya during the 1950s. The car is also virtually rust free, but will require a full restoration. Missing items include the windscreen and a few smaller items. The engine turns (but has not been started), and the car also rolls easily for loading.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 21/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1972 Ford Escort Mexico Rally CarRegistration no. DGA 2KChassis no. BFATMR05179Engine no. 711M6015BAOdometer reading: N/AMOT Expiry: N/A*Iconic Escort Mexico*Dry stored in a Carcoon*Great potentialThe Ford Escort is one of Britain's most well-loved cars and was Ford's most successful rally car, winning at Championship level for more than a decade. Launched in December 1970, the Ford Escort Mexico was a tribute to Hannu Mikkola and Gunnar Palm after their victory in an Escort in the London to Mexico World Cup of that year. The Mexico edition rally car was engineered to satisfy any keen driver whilst also maintaining agile and controllable handling for the road. The Mexico featured uprated suspension, larger disc brakes, and was powered by the same Kent 1,600cc engine as the standard car but with a progressive twin choke downdraft Weber carburettor. This 1972 example is in good condition and has spent a lot of its life in a Carcoon, but will require some work. The car is currently not running, but the vendor is aiming to get the car running and started by the time of the sale. The interior is in good condition, but the running gear such as suspension and brakes will require further attention. There is good history with the car including MOT certificates and the MSA historic identity forms from 2001. There is great potential on offer here with this special homologation vehicle.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 67/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1965 Saab 96 Monte Carlo 850Registration no. EAE 587CChassis no. 347564Odometer reading: 63,800MOT Expiry: N/A*Immaculate condition*Low mileage*Dry stored in Carcoon*Ready for recommissioningAn homage to Erik Carlsson and Pat Moss for their victories at the Monte Carlo rallying circuits, the Saab 96 Monte Carlo 850 is an iconic homologation special. The car featured a longitudinally mounted 841cc engine that was uprated with triple carburettors and oil injection for the Monte Carlo, putting out 57bhp. A modified cylinder head and filled crankshaft counterweights helped give the engine a higher compression ratio, and therefore more power. Externally, the Monte Carlo is distinguishable via special Monte Carlo badges, unique front seats and rear bench, special door cards, wood trimmed steering wheel and dual chrome strips on the side. This low mileage 1965 example is in immaculate condition, and has been dry stored in a Carcoon for the last 20 years. The vendor's father who owned the car beforehand originally planned to take the car rallying, but decided against the decision due to its immaculate condition. The car currently does not run, but there is good history with the car and it is ready to be recommissioned for the road. The vendor has stated that he is aiming to get the engine running and started by the time of the sale. Many original 96 cars have been stripped of parts over the last few decades for restoration of the more desirable Monte Carlo models. This is an opportunity not to be missed. 2013 Land Rover Defender 110 XS TDCiRegistration no. WD63 LHEChassis no. SALLDHYP7EA447103Odometer reading: circa 34,500MoT expiry date: 23/01/2021*2.2-litre turbo diesel engine*Generously equipped*Upgraded with tail liftFollowing the successful reception of the all-new Land Rover Discovery in 1989, it was decided to give the traditional Land Rover its own name: Defender. Despite, or perhaps because of, being recognisable related to the very first Land Rover of 1948, the Defender retained a steadfastly loyal customer base; indeed, in the UK in 2013 it even managed to out-sell the Range Rover. This Defender 110 XS has covered circa 34,500 miles from new and is rated by the vendor as either very good or excellent in every respect. As an XS model its generous specification includes half-leather seats; heated front seats; electric front windows; remote central locking; air conditioning cold climate pack; and heated front windscreen. 1928 Singer JuniorRegistration no. RO 8983Chassis no. 5235Odometer reading. 10,819MOT expiry date. Exempt*A fine quality car from the 1920s with OHC engine*Comprehensive history file available*Maintained and improved over the yearsThis Singer Junior is a charming and unusual alternative to the ubiquitous Austin Seven. With its 848cc OHC engine and four-wheel rod-operated brakes, it will convey four adults at the heady pace of 45 mph. First registered in 1928 in Middlesex, according to a tax disc, little is known of this car's history until the 1950s when it resided with various keepers in Hertfordshire, Essex and Wales before moving to the West country and Derbyshire and then Yorkshire, all recorded in the car's history, included in the original log book. There is a large history file available for inspection, including past tax discs, MOT certificates etc, and records of work done on the car. This work has included a magneto overhaul; re-lining of the brakes; two new bearings fitted to the gearbox; changing of the crown wheel and pinion and repairs to the exhaust/inlet manifold. The files also contains considerable information about Singer engines and photocopies of information from Singer Junior handbook. It was last used on the road in 2019, before the owner passed away and has been carefully stored since then. We have run and driven the Singer for photographs recently where it ran very well indeed. However careful recommissioning is recommended prior to seeing active use once more. It has been shown twice at Singer National Rallies, winning awards both times: 2012: Best Vintage Car and in 2017, Best in Class. A charming light car perfect for VSCC events. 1939 Albion FT3 LorryRegistration no. AVP 366Chassis no. 158023Odometer reading: N/AMOT Expiry: N/A*Beautiful Albion flatbed lorry*Rare model*Previously restoredFounded in 1899, Albion Motors was a Scottish automobile manufacturer that also specialised in commercial vehicles. Sadly the company and was sold under British Leyland, but it is notable for producing iconic vehicles such as the Albion Ventura double decker bus. In production from 1939 until 1954, the Albion FT3 was in fact the company's longest lived model, and was originally powered by six-cylinder petrol engines. However, out of practicality and rising fuel prices many were later converted to diesel. This 1939 Albion FT3 is a wonderful early example that was previously restored in 1986. It is finished in a beautiful blue and red contrasting colour scheme that is painted to match the vendor's father's transport company. The colours really help to make the vehicle stand out. This example comes with little history, but does come with original wooden crates on the rear bed. The vehicle runs and drives well, and overall is in a presentable condition. The running gear and suspension are also in good condition. There is still an active Albion owners club for a new owner to join if desired, with many rallies held each year. This is a beautiful vehicle that is now increasingly hard to come by. 1943 GMC DUKW 353Registration no. 77 YP 09 (Army registration)Chassis no. 6863Engine no. N/AOdometer reading: N/AMOT expiry date: N/A *Powerful 4,425cc six-cylinder engine and six-wheel drive*Consistently serviced and maintained by military engineers*Low hours/miles as museum piece for many yearsThis GMC DUKW model 353 2.5 ton 6 X 6 amphibious troop carrier was manufactured by General Motors in 1943 and was delivered to the British armed forces in June of that year. It served the 19 Amphibious Squadron of the Royal Corps of Transport but unfortunately there is no record of its war time involvement with the D Day landings. A rare survivor, it transferred to the Royal Corps of Transport Museum in the early 1970s.The DUKW was held as part of a collection at the School of Mechanical Transport in Leconfield and remained the property of the Ministry of Defence. The collection was loaned to the Museum of Army Transport in Beverley, Yorkshire where the DUKW was displayed and kept in running condition until the museum's closure in 2003. The DUKW remained running until it was moved to be on Museum display when the fuel was drained, thus it will require some recommissioning before it is ready to return to 'active service'. It comes with considerable history including a report on its original specifications and its Vehicle Data Card, detailing its movements and commissions and represents a great opportunity to obtain an exciting military vehicle with many uses. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 53/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1956 Bentley S-Series SaloonRegistration no. XFO 126Chassis no. B55CMOdometer reading: 38,000MOT : expired *Delivered new in the UK*Extensively restored in 1997/1998*Circa 5,600 miles since restoration*Badging changed from 'Bentley' to 'Rolls-Royce' 'The Bentley 'S' Series is a very attractive car with superb lines, appearance and finish. It costs a lot of money, but to the connoisseur who must have the best it is worth every penny. It is schemed to require the very minimum of attention over large mileages, but it has the famed Rolls-Royce service behind it when any attention is required. This will still be a glorious car in 45 years' time, just as my own 1911 Silver Ghost is today.' - John Bolster, Autosport, 1956. Chassis number 'B55CM' was first registered on 16th July 1956 as 'LCX 834'. In 1976 the Bentley was exported to the USA, remaining there until 1990 when it returned to the UK and was registered as '18 YRR'. On 4th March 1998 the DVLA agreed to transfer the registration from '18 YRR' to 'XFO 126'. A comprehensive engine and bodywork restoration was undertaken in 1997/1998, including fitting hardened valves and valve seats to facilitate the use of lead-free petrol, while the badging was changed from 'Bentley' to 'Rolls-Royce'. An MoT certificate dated 3rd June 1998 records the mileage then as 32,334. The current odometer reading is circa 38,000 miles. Comprehensive details of the restoration, including bills and photographs, are available in the file. The current vendor purchased the vehicle from Bonhams Hendon sale in 2019, since when it has seen minimal use.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 55/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1983 Land Rover Series III 109' Pick UpRegistration no. DJV 467YChassis no. SALLBCAG1AA170178Odometer reading. 68,418MOT expiry date. TBA*An honest and rugged vehicle with great character*Recent galvanised chassis with good bodywork and recent new interior*Fitted with excellent dropside body and very rare winchThis 1983 Series 3 109' chassis cab pickup is believed to have been restored in the late 1990s when it received a galvanised chassis and the nicely constructed wooden drop side bed. Its diesel engine is of course very economical and it starts easily in all weathers. It is fitted with the very rare genuine Land Rover hydraulic winch - said to have cost as much as the base vehicle from Land Rover when new. This is one of very few working MK 2 winches known to survive. In keeping with its rugged background, it is fitted with a set of ex army wheels and very good Goodyear G8 tyres. There is a newly fitted interior with three seats, in the superior deluxe trim. The body is in generally in good order and the door frame bottoms were refurbished this year. The drop sides of the attractive wooden rear body may be removed in moments to give a useful flat bed arrangement. The mileage is believed to be correct but there are no records and the truck was built at a time before Land Rovers became collector items. The Land Rover benefits from mainly original factory paint and the original stickers in the engine bay seem to be original and untouched. Refreshing in its workaday honesty, this Land Rover is said by the owner to be a faithful friend with more patina than a rusty shovel! It passed its last MOT in June 2018 and has seen almost no use since.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 61/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1974 Volkswagen Beetle Registration no. SJU 921NChassis no. 1142701081Odometer reading: N/AMOT Expiry: N/A*Dry stored*Great potential*Sold for restorationThe Volkswagen Beetle is one of the true greats of the 20th Century. The car revolutionised affordable motoring, serving workers, families, first time drivers and enthusiasts the like. By the time this example was produced in 1974, the beetle had become much more and refined. This included larger windows for better visibility, new 'elephant foot' taillamps, and a much more modern interior. This example was purchased by the vendor who bought the car in August 2018 as a restoration project. The car still had an MOT at the time, but is now off and road and has been dry stored since purchase. Overall the car is not in a good condition and requires a lot of attention cosmetically and mechanically. There is little history with the car and will need to be rewired also. The owner hasn't found time to restore the vehicle, hence the sale. The car has great potential.
