WWI First World War (and early 1900s) Interest - a large well filled photograph and scrap album of local Bristol / Wiltshire / South West interest filled with assorted photographs, newspaper cuttings, postcards and other such items. Appearing to have been made by a single owner - the family of one Sergeant Major H Farquharson, whose name is pasted-in to the inside front cover and noted on several of the postcards featured. The Farquharson's address is noted as St Michaels Hill House, Bristol.  Many of the items within the album relate to the Gloucestershire Regiment and The Black Watch.  The album includes; a large format photograph with ink annotation ' Officers 2/6 Gloucestershire Regiment - Tidworth Bhurtpore Barracks April 1916, Proceeded Overseas 23rd May 1916, less those marked '+'), several pre-war training camp photographs, a Recruiting Station photograph, various large format photographs showing inspections, training photographs, a cutting from the Western Daily Press 1914 showing Sixth Gloucesters Leaving HQ, WWI era real photographic postcards of troops being loaded on a ship (likely at Lundy Island), large format photographs of regiments (including military band), a large format photograph showing soldiers marching over Bristol Bridge, some laid-in paintings likely by the soldier, a photograph of the 'Deaf & Dumb Winners Of Bristol Cup 1907', several photographs of a destroyed engine (presumed aircraft - early), photographs of Bampton & Bampton Fair, and many others. The album well filled, with the final group of pages empty. Several hundred items included within. Interesting local connection album.
