SUZUKI GS1000 (1980) Reg GPM 820V FRAME NO 700004 ENGINE NO 131057 The GS1000 was introduced to the Suzuki range in late 1977. The combination of air-assisted front forks, a stiff chassis and adjustable rear shocks made for an above-average ride around the tightest of twisties, despite a longish 59.3-inch wheelbase. Contemporary journalists praised the comfort, excellent power delivery, superb handling and its good brakes. Suzuki clearly had racing in mind when it designed the GS1000, which migrated to the track shortly after it was introduced. The new Superbike class and a young racer named Wes Cooley turned both Superbike racing and the GS1000 into major attractions. Wes popped wheelies, smoked tyres and flamboyantly won races aboard a GS tuned by the legendary "Pops" Yoshimura. This 1980 GS1000 which has had only 2 previous recorded keepers has received some various cosmetic and handling upgrades over its years and is described as in overall good condition and having only covered 15 miles in the past year. In good running order, it is suggested that a light amount of re-commissioning may be required. Supplied with old style V5C and mot certificate *(expires October 2014)
YAMAHA FJ1100 (1985) B33 LVN FRAME NO 36Y010295 ENGINE NO 36Y010295 Launched in 1984 the FJ1100 was intended by Yamaha to be the pinnacle of sports bikes, however, it`s glory as such was short lived when the ground breaking Kawazaki, water-cooled, Gpz900 was launched the following year. This being said, the FJ proved itself as an incredibly capable, not only fast, but reliable machine, the engine design remaining relatively unchanged through the FJ1200 (1986-1996) and the XJR1300 (1998-Date). The marque has a loyal following and is supported by a large membership owners club. This standard 1985 Fj1100 has been kept by its previous owners in "as original as possible condition" retaining its original paintwork and described as "overall very good" the bike will require the usual safety checks and MOT. V5C present. No Reserve
KAWASAKIi GPZ1100 Unregistered (nova) Frame nO TBA Engine NO TBA Following on from the market beating Z900 & z1000 range, topping Kawasaki`s range for 1981 was the GPz1100 sports roadster. Chain driven and fitted with fuel injection, an innovation Kawasaki had first tried on the Z1000H a year previously. Bike magazine reported in August 1981 "…the newest `Big Z` scorched through the standing quarter-mile in 11.53 seconds on its way to a top speed within a whisker of 140mph…" Sold new abroad and recently imported, this GPz1100 has received a considerable amount of attention including re-paint in Kawazaki`s famous green and an apparent full rebuild and thus is rare in that it retains its original fuel injection system often swapped in favour of standard carburettion. Described as principally restored and requiring minor finishing and re-commissioning. NOVA documents included. No Reserve
