Each of the later examples are engraved with initials to the exterior and interior.

DUNHILL; a 9ct rose gold cigarette case of rounded rectangular form with engine turned detail, Greek key decoration to the edges and five square cut sapphires to the sprung thumb piece, signed, (hallmarks slightly obscured), probably London 1932, length 11.5cm, width 8.25cm, approx. 138g.Additional InformationThe case is very slightly sprung but this is being ultra critical. It closes tightly with no gaps showing. There are no initials or engraving details either outside or in. There is light surface wear. The sapphires are in good order. There is a 9ct pierced band to the interior which is also marked and the case is signed Dunhill London.

Light wear and tarnishing to the case. The pencil is heavily worn, the cap is very loose with numerous dents. The Albert chain is good, with minimal wear.Interior dust cover with deep inscription, Albert chain and T-bar stamped 9ct ACC, approx chain weight 7g.

The engine turned case is inscribed to the interior 'Mae to Ian 11-2-1940', and has surface scratches. The third case has a tight action, is rather sprung and has surface wear.

The cigarette box: the lid of this item does close flush, the box has a very slight rock when placed on a flat surface, there are no personalised engravings on this item. Hinge appears to be in good order. The marks are rubbed. There are some light surface scratches, but nothing deep. There are a couple of small dents, one to the lefthand side at the back and one just off center to the bottom edge at the front.
