In that same year the car received a full respray (in its original green colour) which contrasts beautifully with the cream leather interior. Overall, this is a lovely example and is a very honest time warp car that has a low mileage of just 25,907 miles. The bodywork, paintwork and interior are all in good condition. There is little history with the car which was purchased from Kevin Odlum, and has been in storage since 2010. Its 4.2-litre straight-six is also reported to be running and driving, however the car will be sold with a recommendation for recommissioning prior to active use.Vendor Score Total: 78/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1978 Lincoln Town CarRegistration no. LIL 433Chassis no. 8Y82S913711Odometer reading: 61,216MOT: December 2021*Good example*Former wedding car*Known in the Lincoln Owners Club Footnotes:In 1970 the Lincoln Town Car was initially introduced as a luxurious trim package on the Lincoln Continental. It featured additional niceties such as plusher carpets as well as extended leather throughout the interior. The design of the Continental Town Car embodies that of American cars from the 1970s with its square angles and large grille, and its look was designed to match that of its competitor, the Cadillac Eldorado. This 1978 example is in very good condition and has previously been entered into shows as a testament. The car has also been previously used as a wedding vehicle, and is also currently known to the Lincoln Owners Club. There is some history equipped with the car, including its import documents. It's beige exterior colour with beige leather interior are both in good condition and are thought to be a period colour combination. It's 6.6-litre V8 engine is said to be running well. These American 'land yacht' styled cars hark back to a bygone era of comfort and offer an incredible relaxed driving experience as a result. This is a good and useable example.Vendor Score Total: 78/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1988 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera TargaRegistration no. F197 MLLChassis no. WP0ZZZ91ZJS141127Odometer reading: 85,000 MOT Expiry: December 2021 *Sought after Carrera 3.2 G50 Targa*Low warranted mileage*Touring Spec*Large history file with Porsche service history Beautiful example of one of the greatest air cooled 911s. From a private collection this Porsche 3.2 Targa has been impeccably maintained and cherished by enthusiast owners from new. The car itself is also fairly unique, as it was specified from new in December 1988 as a 'Touring Specification'.More discreet, it contrasts to the much more common 'spoilers and flares' 'bankers bonus cars' if the late eighties. This non-sport specification includes the deletion of the front spoiler and whale tail boot lid, and includes the very rare 15' Fuch alloy wheels with slightly higher price tyres. The car is in an excellent condition, and the Guards Red paintwork still presents beautifully. The 3.2-litre flat-six engine has also been carefully maintained with a full Porsche specialist service history, and is paired with the improved G50 five-speed gearbox. This, combined with the electric black leather seats and 15' Fuch alloy wheels really give a sense comfort, but with no impact on the cars impressive performance. This example was also featured in 911 and Porsche World Magazine in 2014 where Specialist Porsche JournalistJohnny Tipler said: ' it has the best ride quality because of its tall tyres and 15-inch rims', thus proving that this combination strikes the ideal balance that's rare in a 911 of this era. The mileage is also relatively low at 85,000 miles, and there is a large history file that includes a fully stamped service book, original handbook package and kit. The original non-spoiler boot lid is also available with the car. This is a rare and stunning example ready to enjoy To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 97/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series I Coupé ProjectRegistration no. 7806 UKChassis no. 860418Odometer reading: 13,816MOT: Exempt*Early Series I rolling project*Matching numbers*Structurally sound*Ideal for restorationFootnotes:Ever since its unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961, the Jaguar E-Type has made headlines around the world for not just its sheer beauty, but also its effortless performance. Its design has been described as perfect from every angle, and it harks back to an era long before safety regulation had an impact on car design. Its faired-in headlights, centred twin exhausts, independent rear suspension and all-round disc brakes were thought to be revolutionary features for a sports car at the time. With a price tag of just £2,250 (approximately £42,000 in today's money), the E-Type was also astonishingly good value, and as a result it was a great success for Jaguar. Presented is a rare opportunity to acquire an early 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series I Fixed Head Coupe. Sold as a project, the car has been in storage for approximately 15-20 years and will require a full restoration. The mileage is remarkably low as a result, and the odometer shows just 13,816 miles. It's also reported to be moveable, and there is air in the tyres (the brakes are not seized). Sadly there is little history with the car bar its original buff logbook, however it comes from single ownership since 1971. It was originally finished in Gunmetal grey but was resprayed in the 1960s prior to the present vendors ownership to the current purple colour that you see today. Structurally the car is in good condition and is remarkably solid, however there is some rust appearing in places, such as on the NSR wheel arche and rear window surround. This is a matching numbers vehicle.Vendor Score Total: 26/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series II 2+2 CoupéRegistration no. CYY 984HChassis no. PIR35920BWOdometer reading: 90,847MOT: Exempt*Restored in 2009*3 owners from new*Well maintained with good historyFootnotes:The Jaguar E-Type is one of the company's most well-known cars, and was famously labelled by Enzo Ferrari as 'one of the most beautiful cars ever made'. Production of the E-Type spanned 14 years from 1961 to 1975 in Series I, Series II and Series III format. This example is 1970 Series II car that is configured in Coupe 2+2 format, and is a well looked after example. It is documented that the first owner had it from new until 1991, where the second owner then purchased it and owned it until 2006 (both in Wales). In 2007 the car went straight to well-known and reputable Scottish Jaguar restorer John McAleese, who gave the car an extensive restoration. This included a body restoration (with respray), engine rebuild, new bonnet assembly, and new chrome with new wire wheels. Today the car is sitting at just over 90,000 miles and we are advised is running and driving well. The restoration was completed in 2009, and it's been well looked after and maintained up until 2017, but since then the car has been unused. The red paintwork and leather interior are in excellent condition. There a lot of documentation with the car including its V5 registration document.Vendor Score Total: 84/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The Hornet was also available in a 'Special' configuration, which was a coach-built variation that was bespoke to a customer's choosing. This example is a 1934 Hornet Special that is powered by a 1,604cc six-cylinder engine which was only available in the Special. The car is in very good condition throughout and comes with an extensive history file. This includes multiple old pictures of the car, old hill climb passes, and various invoices and receipts. More recently it is recorded that approximately £6,000 has been spent on maintenance since 2011 (which included fitting new king pins and timing the carburettor). It was designed by renowned MG designer Syd Enever and featured a much more aerodynamic design whose shape still looks familiar today. Following its launch, the MGA proved to be a hit and over 100,000 were sold by 1962 in both 2-door roadster and 2-door coupe body styles. This 1958 roadster offers great potential as a project car and is finished in the iconic British Racing Green. The shell itself has been well restored and still presents well. It is also noted that the car's original 1500cc engine has been swapped out for a later MGB 1,800cc unit mated to an MGA gearbox. The steering rack has also been built. This is an honest and cherished example that offers great potential.Vendor Score Total: 20/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1978 Land Rover Series IIIRegistration no. ATW 371SChassis no. 90624489A*Former RAF vehicle*Unique Khaki green colour scheme*2286cc diesel engineFootnotes:Produced between 1971 and 1985, the Series III is an iconic Land Rover that helped pull the company through a turbulent period in UK economic history. Essentially a facelift of the popular Series II, the Series III offered improvements over its predecessor such as a modernised interior and a synchromesh gearbox. Series Land Rovers have also been popular vehicles with the British Military, and the Series III is no exception to this serving from the 1970s right through to the 1990s. This Khaki Green example is a former RAF vehicle, and has been re-imported to the UK from Holland by the vendor. If you look closely you can see the original RAF colour is still visible in some places. Overall, the interior is aged and tatty and could require further attention. There is little history with the car but the 2286cc diesel engine starts and runs well, and the running gear and brakes are in good condition. The suspension is also of sound condition. Overall the car presents well and has been partly restored, but still offers scope for improvement if desired.Vendor total: 45/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1932 MG J2Registration no. YY 5032Chassis no. J2141Odometer reading: N/AMOT: Exempt*MG J2*Good condition*Engine rebuilt in 1997*Extensive historyFootnotes:Launched in August 1932, the MG J2 was engineered with the enthusiast in mind. It was powered by a 847cc single overhead cam four-cylinder engine which, paired with a four-speed gearbox, could reach an outstanding top speed of 82mph. It's look was also unmistakably MG with its long squared bonnet, folding windscreen and chrome wire wheels. Over 2,000 units were sold between 1932 and 1934, and at a cost of just £199 it was excellent value, and as a result the J2 proved successful. This 1932 example is presented in good condition and comes with a large history file that includes its original buff logbook, old bills and various paperwork. The file also includes invoices for an engine rebuild by CRG Engineering (MG specialists) in 1997 and other mechanical works. Having been in its current ownership since 2008, the vendor has kept the car in excellent condition and has maintained it himself. Recent work on the car includes a new mohair hood that was fitted over the original frame in 2008. The vendor believes that the car was rebuilt in the 1980s with a replacement chassis. This is a good example of a classic pre-war British sports car.Vendor Score Total: 78/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH.
