A 1972 Rover P5B coupé, registration number NYM 938L, chassis number 84507430, engine number 84018968, Arden green over Silver Birch. This P5B has featured in Top Gear with Richard Hammond. Introduced in 1969, the P5B featured the new Buick 3.5 litre engine in the svelte coupé and saloon bodies. They found favour with government ministers, the business elite and even had royal patronage. As a coupé example it is the most sought after with its contrasting colour lowered roofline, sculpted rear seats and chrome Rostyle wheels. Having only covered a believed 79,000 miles from new, NYM 938L was supplied by Middlesex Motors (Harrow) London to its first owners, Moris, Tozer & Beck Ltd, London. Presented in what is probably the best colour combination of Arden green with a Silver Birch roof and Saddle tan leather interior, featuring its original radio and toolkit. The accompanying history file contains the original Passport to Service, owner's handbook, past MOTs and receipts. P5B coupés are very fashionable in the classic car market and this well presented example being a previous TV star should appeal to collectors and investors alike. Mrs Taylor would use Aldersons for all of the Fords servicing during her ownership (service book containing 14 stamps), with the last being carried out on 04/02/14 at 18,110 miles. The MG has been restored by previous owners with receipts from marque specialists for a body refurbishment and reconditioned engine and gearbox, plus other numerous components for many thousands of pounds. Our vendor has continued the high level of maintenance and restoration undertaken by previous owners, including a full brake overhaul with uprated EBC pads, a new ignition fuse board, a full tonneau cover, and alloy rocker cover. The MG is accompanied to auction with a large history file containing many receipts, past MOTs and a BMIHT certificate. V5, V5C, MOT to May 2017 See illustration
A 1959 Morris Marshal, unregistered, two tone cream and grey. This extremely rare Morris Marshal was manufactured by BMC for the Australian market, with only approximately 1,000 manufactured. It is powered by the 2.6 litre straight six derived Healey engine through a four speed column change gearbox. During its time in the Southern hemisphere the Marshal was used by a family in Tasmania who would subsequently donate the car to a Technical College for refurbishment by the students. Since being imported earlier this year the Morris has been recommissioned with a new fuel tank and rebuilt brakes. The vendor advises us that he believes this matching numbers car to have never been welded and it is presented in original condition with a red and grey interior. This rare Morris would make an excellent towing vehicle for a vintage caravan or classic racing car. ***The Morris is offered for auction with a NOVA email stating the vehicle can be registered in the UK and toolkit only***. MOT and tax exempt See illustrations
A 1975 Triumph Stag, registration number HRV 726N, chassis number LD/35079-O, engine number LF/028934-HE, body number T.35140/35274-LD, Java green. This desirable manual overdrive Triumph Stag has covered a low 60,000 miles from new. The car was supplied by Mann Eggerton & Co Ltd, Bury St Edmonds, Suffolk to Mrs P M Fellows from Saxmundham, Suffolk, who purchased the Stag for £3,786.29 including optional extras of tinted glass, a laminated windscreen, reflective number plates, underseal and radio fitting, less a part exchange allowance of £1,725 for a 1972 Triumph Stag. The Stag is very original with matching numbers and is finished in a very distinctive 1970s Java green coachwork with black vinyl interior, a mohair hood and works hard top. The accompanying history file contains the original Passport to Service, with a stamped record up to 45,566 miles (1990), original owner's wallet with handbook and leaflets, a Heritage certificate, photocopies of previous V5s showing the three previous owners prior to the vendor, receipts, past MOTs and the original bill of sale from Mann Eggerton. This genuine low mileage and very original Stag has been in the vendor's collection for the past 16 years and is now only for sale due to him rationalising his collection. A 1965 Vanden Plas Princess 4-Litre R, registration number CUF 202C, chassis number VRS3/3173, engine number 40FBAH3093, grey over silver. During the 1960s BMC, Rolls-Royce and the pre-eminent coach builder, Vanden Plas collaborated on several projects, culminating in the Vanden Plas Princess 4-Litre R launched in 1964. The luxury saloon featured a modified Farina A110 body with a unique tail design, the Rolls-Royce FB60 4-litre six cylinder engine and a sumptuous leather, walnut and Wilton carpeted interior. This extremely low mileage example was originally supplied by Stringers of Brighton to a Mr Letts, who was to retain the car until his death in 1985, whereupon it passed on to another family member. Since then there has been one further custodian. The Princess would remain in storage for eighteen years until being recommissioned with a brake overhaul, a new fuel tank, and carburettor overhaul. The car was originally supplied in black over grey, which was felt a little too severe. A full quality respray was carried out in metallic grey over silver to compliment the beautifully preserved tan leather interior. With only 35,000 miles recorded on the odometer, confirmed with a large run of MOTs from 1968, and a history file containing the original Passport to Service amongst other receipts and correspondence this example must be one of the lowest mileage examples available. V5C, MOT to August 2017 See illustrations
A 1981 Lotus Esprit S3, registration number HBZ 1590, chassis number SCC085912BHD11043, Calypso red. The Giorgetto Giugiaro's designed Esprit was launched at the Paris Auto Show in October 1975, replacing the Europa in the Lotus model line. The Esprit would go on to find fame in two James Bond movies, The Spy Who Loved Me in 1977, where a white S1 would transform into a submarine, and For Your Eyes Only in 1981, where two Essex Turbos in white and copper starred alongside Roger Moore. This normally aspirated example has covered a mileage of less than 70,000 miles over its 35 years on the road, substantiated by a run of MOTs from 1984. Finished in striking Calypso red with a contrasting half black leather and red alcantara interior and sitting on BBS alloy wheels, this Esprit looks very purposeful and every inch the sports car Colin Chapman intended. This S3 has benefited from many thousands of pounds worth of maintenance over the years including a cylinder head overhaul and engine bay refurbishment in 2015 at a cost of £5,236.99, amongst other noteworthy works. This well maintained example is offered for auction with a large history file with receipts, past MOTs and correspondence. V5C, MOT to February 2017 See illustrations
A 1934 Austin Seven Ulster Special, registration number WSJ 430, chassis number 205539, ***engine number M152461 (not M15246)***, maroon. This well known and extensively campaigned Austin Seven Special was constructed by Doug Bukin and registered in 1988. During Doug's ownership the Austin was campaigned in over 80 competitive events in both circuit and hill climbs, with both the VSCC and 750 Motor Club at various venues including Goodwood, Mallory Park, Donington Park, Prescott, Silverstone and Shelsley Walsh amongst others. The car is well constructed with an aluminium body in the Ulster style over tubular framework with a 6 ft 3 inch chassis, lowered axles and 17 inch wheels. The engine is highly modified with a high compression cylinder head, an Allen Billet crankshaft, Renault 5 aluminium pistons and crank, an aluminium deep sump, big valves, a lightened flywheel, a four branch exhaust manifold, a single modified carburettor and overbored block (803cc) and a remote spin off oil filter. The electric system has been uprated to 12V total loss system, with a recently replaced full wiring loom (receipt on file) and a rebuilt starter motor by Tim Miller. Both the cooling and ignition system are uprated for competition use. The car is offered for auction with two close ratio three speed gearboxes, for both circuit/road use and hill climbs, four cycle wings, a spare wheel, headlights and other spares. The history file contains two VSCC eligibility forms (No 1223/2788), photographs of the build, photographs of the car in competition, hill climb and circuit set up notes, various photocopies of magazine articles of Doug's Racing Exploits, books on Austin Seven Specials, VSCC buff forms, SORNS, a receipt for the rewire and servicing (£1,465.72), and expired MOTs. WSJ 430 is something of a TV star having previously appeared on the BBC 1 The One Show with Doug and Angelica Bell at Silverstone in April 2008. WSJ 430 is ready to take to the track or hill climb and is reluctantly for sale due to the vendor having insufficient time to use the car as he intended.
