A French Empire Silver-Gilt Musical-Box, by L. Baudin, Paris, 1809-1819, oblong, the hinged cover and base with an engine turned ground within foliage and scroll borders, the cover opens to reveal a plain interior, the front with a opening, cover lacking, the back with slide mechanism, the base with winder, key lacking, 8.8cm wide, gross weight 7oz 17dwt Baudin seems to have specialised in boxes of this sort with a number of examples with similar decoration extant. These include a nearly identical example, the inside engraved with an inscription (sold Bonhams, 21 November 2018, lot 31) and one with similar borders, the centre set with a micromosaic panel (sold Christie's, 8 December 2011, lot 111). . Marked on the bezel with second standard cockerel mark and with medium guarantee mark. Various struck inside and on bezel with maker's mark. The standard and guarantee mark are both clear while the maker's mark is poorly struck in some places and with wear in other places. There is some minor surface scratching and wear to the box, consistent with age and use. The key is lacking. The mechanism is not currently functioning when wound. There is a cover missing over the opening in the front of the box.

An Elizabeth II Silver and Enamel Compact, by Barker Ellis Silver Co., Birmingham, 1968, circular, the hinged cover enamelled with pink and red roses and foliage on a white ground, over engine-turning, the base engine turned, the inside of the hinged cover set with a mirror, 8.5cm diameter. Fully marked inside base. The marks are clear. The cover apparently unmarked, though the marks may be behind the mirror. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. Total gross weight including mirror 139gr.
A Continental Silver and Enamel Cigarette-Case and a Silver-Gilt and Enamel Match-Book Holder, Each With English Import Marks for Henry Perkins and Sons, London, 1929, each oblong, the hinged covers with blue enamel over differing engine-turned grounds, 8.2cm wide and smaller, gross weight 3oz 17dwt, 119gr (2) . The cigarette-case fully marked inside base. The cover apparently unmarked. The match-book holder marked inside base and part marked inside cover. The marks are generally. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use.
A Victorian Silver Snuff-Box, by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham, 1837, oblong, the hinged cover and base each engraved with a tartan pattern, the sides engine turned, engraved with initials, the interior gilded, 5.5cm wide, 1oz, 30gr. Part marked inside base and cover. The marks are generally clear. There is overall surface scratching and wear consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a minor softening to the engraving.
A George V Silver-Mounted Timepiece and a French Silver-Mounted Timepiece, The First by Asprey, London, 1919, The Second by Paul Guillon, Paris, Circa 1910, each oblong, the first with an engine-turned silver case, 4cm high, the second plain and on four bun-feet, with overhead swing handle, 7cm high (2) . Neither timepiece is currently in working order. Total gross weight including timepiece mechanism 217gr. The first: fully marked underneath and part marked inside back cover. Further stamped 'Asprey London' inside cover. The case in generally good condition. The hinged cover fitted with metal winding key. The Second: Marked with Minerva mark and maker's mark on edge of base and cover bezel. The marks on the base have wear, the marks on the bezel are generally clear. The dial signed 'K.B. & Co.' There is some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. Winding key lacking.
A George V Silver-Mounted Travelling Dressing-Table Service, by Mappin and Webb, London, 1920, 1923, 1924 and 1928, each piece engine turned and engraved with initials, comprising: three differing cylindrical jars; a square section jar; a clothes-brush; a pair of hair-brushes and various implements, all contained in a leather pouch, the pouch 31cm wide . The silver mounts are each marked. There is some wear to the marks, though each is still legible. There is some scratching, each and bruising to the mounts, though consistent with age and use. There are some items missing from the pouch and some wear, discolouration and loss to the leather case.
A late 19th century miniature combination pocket barometer and compass, circa 1890, unsigned but likely made by F. Kuhn, Luzern, Switzerland, with white metal drum shaped body and fitted suspension ring, all over engine turned decoration, the compass with mother of pearl face, quartered and half black 'Singers' Patent' dial with cardinal points, dial 42mm, the barometer with silvered dial and blued steel hand, 0-9000 / 31-22 scale, 'Compensated', and swivel bezel with point marker, dial 47mm, bevelled glass to both sides, overall 29 by 50mm, 69mm including jump ring, within original fitted double sided burgundy leather case, blue velvet and white silk lined, with push button clasps, 41 by 62 by 73mm.
