A Hohm driving school large-scale instructional working model car, German, post-War,1960s, the model with cutaway sections and electrically operated functions including a visible engine block and cylinder/head, in original "untouched" condition with plywood base fitted with switches and buttons to allow demonstration. 107 cm long x 35 cm deep x 41 cm overall height. In 1934, Emil Hohm, an Opel dealer in central Germany, and Werner Degener, a driving instruction-manual publisher, recognized the need for an instructional model (modelle) which was portable and could easily demonstrate the mechanical and operation functions of the automobile. A true-to-scale model of an Opel Admiral was produced and shown at the 1939 Automobile Exhibition in Berlin. A hit with the crowds, production soon started with six employees. After World War II, with an upturn in the German economy, there was a period of rapid growth in the automobile industry. Driving schools sprang up everywhere, and the functional model became part of the teaching curriculum. Some schools produced their own instructional chassis.Due to the high quality and low production, Hohm models were never inexpensive, originally costing over 900 DM in 1959. Nonetheless, Hohm produced over 7000 models of all types, capturing almost 70% of the market. Their quality and good name was known all over Europe, and many were exported to Spain, Finland, Indonesia, Greece and other countries. More often than not these models have been restored and re-painted this is in its original factory finish with a pleasing patina. Enterprise NCC-1701 from Nicholas Meyer's sci-fi sequel Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Created for Quantum Mechanix, this light-up 1:350 scale replica features a composite resin and fiberglass body over a steel endoskeletal frame; the vessel's distinctive Aztec hull plating pattern painted on through meticulous masking and airbrushing; applied ship lettering and graphics; and extensive lighting effects designed to include white LED interior lighting visible through the windows, blue LED warp-engine illumination, blinking formation and anti-collision lights, and lighting in the deflector dish, all of which are powered by a 12-volt power adapter and controlled through a three-function remote control. Internal details visible through the windows including the officers' lounge, botanical garden, recreation deck, and a shuttle bay visible by removing a cover piece on the stern of the starship. The model is displayed on an adjustable metal mount attached to a black wooden base with a gold-color metal plaque featuring the ship's information, a quote, and the logo for "The FX Company". The lot exhibits minimal wear from use and age. Dimensions: 36" x 17" x 18" (91.5 cm x 43.25 cm x 45.75 cm)Contains electronics; see electronics notice in the Buyer's Guide.Estimate: $8,000 - 16,000Bidding for this lot will end on Friday, June 30th. MOONRAKER (1979) - Glastron Carlson Speedboat - A Glastron Carlson speedboat from the production of Lewis Gilbert's Bond film Moonraker. In the climactic action sequence, Hugo Drax's (Michael Lonsdale) men chased Bond down the Amazon River in speedboats.Four Glastron Carlson CV23HT speedboats were acquired for production by EON Productions for the chase sequence and customized with a specialty silver flake gel coat over gray paint applied during the fiberglass molding process. This is believed to be one of only two to survive from production, having been sold at a boat show in 1979 and held in a private collection ever since. However, as the custom upper canopy visible in the film is not included, it remains unknown if one was ever affixed to this boat, and therefore if it was ever filmed. In addition to its distinctive paint scheme, this operational, gas-powered speedboat features ID number "GCV 10542C," a latching sunshield over the cabin, a "Glastron Carlson" plaque, and a MerCruiser 260 HP stern-driven engine with functional lighting and speaker systems installed. The interior is upholstered with gray leatherette and paneled with varnished wood, and features red velvet and white shag carpeting. A "Moonraker II" decal was affixed to the starboard bow by the current owner. Also included is a Letter of Authenticity from noted James Bond collector and co-founder of The Ian Fleming Foundation, Doug Redenius.Following production, red pinstriping was added. This pinstriping is tape-based, not paint, and can be removed with heat. Due to age and exposure, the boat exhibits rusting to its internal mechanisms, fading to the exterior and wood finishes, and various liquid streaks and grime, but it retains its iconic silver coloration. As it remains stored and registered in Canada, bidders will need to contact Propstore in advance to arrange shipment and transfer of registration. Dimensions: 276" x 83" x 72" (702 cm x 211 cm x 211 cm)Contains electronics; see electronics notice in the Buyer's Guide.Special shipping required; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.Stored off-site; see off-site storage notice in the Buyer's Guide.Estimate: $30,000 - 60,000Bidding for this lot will end on Wednesday, June 28th. THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH (1999) - Russian Special Services Atomic Energy Antiterrorist Unit Land Parahawk - A Russian Special Services Atomic Energy Antiterrorist Unit land parahawk from Michael Apted's Bond film The World Is Not Enough. Russian military parahawks ambushed and pursued James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) and Elektra King (Sophie Marceau) across a mountain during their skiing outing. This high-tech land parahawk is one of only three created by production for the chase sequence. Following production, it was purchased by the Ian Fleming Foundation, from whom it now originates. Constructed from a functional Ski-Doo snowmobile, the vehicle is modified with a black fiberglass shell, matching felt upholstery, a clear acrylic visor, a double-bladed propeller, a metal rotary belt, and four articulated metal skis for controlling its direction. It also features a 2si 460 F45 aircraft engine and a 3.3-gallon gas tank. The parahawk's interior features a dashboard with controls for the propeller and power, metal footrests, and brake handles. It comes mounted to wooden dollies for transit and has not operated since the end of production. The vehicle exhibits chipping paint along the left side and control panel, as well as rusting to the skis. Following production, it was drained of fluid, rendering it currently nonfunctional, and no warranty is made or implied as to its functionality. Dimensions: 144" x 86" x 86" (366 cm x 218.5 cm x 218.5 cm)Contains mechanical and electrical components; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.Special shipping required; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.Estimate: $40,000 - 80,000Bidding for this lot will end on Wednesday, June 28th. STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE (1977) - Hand-Painted Ralph McQuarrie X-Wing Starfighter and Imperial TIE Fighter Illustration - An illustration of an X-wing starfighter and an Imperial TIE fighter hand-painted by Ralph McQuarrie from the production of George Lucas' Star Wars: A New Hope. This artwork was created circa August 1976, and later printed on T-shirts for US-based crew members, including the staff at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). The ships in the artwork were likely a deliberate choice by McQuarrie to represent ILM's work. This illustration is one of the few produced for the film that includes an X-wing. It is shown here in its final design form with four distinct engines rather than two, and features the earlier blue-striped fuselage which progressed to a red stripe later in production. The piece features a number of McQuarrie's signatures, including the orange planet in the background (similar to the well-known triangular "The Star Wars" logo McQuarrie designed), the arched framing (similar to the "Fantastic Five" painting), a soft gradient on the lettering, and airbrushed engine, laser, and motion streaks to add energy to the piece. This illustration is rendered in mixed media, primarily including gouache, on illustration board. Below the "Star Wars" lettering is a pasted-on additional piece of paper likely added to cover an earlier abandoned design element. The board also features press-on lettering reading "the star wars corp. 1976." The artwork is stored with a clear acetate cover layer and an additional paper cover that McQuarrie applied after completing it. It remains extremely well-preserved with no fading and only a minor surface tear outside of the image area. McQuarrie's original trilogy paintings are the pinnacle of his work; they are exceedingly rare and highly sought after by collectors. This is one of only a small number of McQuarrie paintings related to the first film known to exist in private collections today. Both the composition and content of the piece are superb, and a high-quality image of this artwork has never been published previously. Dimensions (on board): 16.5" x 19.25" x 0.75" (42 cm x 48.75 cm x 2 cm)Estimate: $50,000 - 100,000Bidding for this lot will end on Wednesday, June 28th. The auction will begin at 8:00AM PDT and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. Note other lots in the auction may close on Thursday, June 29th or Friday, June 30th.

Fulmer drew this blueprint to coordinate Industrial Light & Magic's (ILM) construction of the speeder bike models for the Endor chase sequence. This blueprint depicting bird's eye and left side views of a speeder bike, as well as sketches of a Biker Scout and various components such as "Handle Bar," "Foot Support Bar," and "Engine Block," comes from the collection of ILM model shop supervisor Lorne Peterson. It is rendered and annotated in pencil on Star Wars-branded drafting paper labeled "Scooter," dated "Apr 10/82," numbered "1178646618925," and initialed "M.G. Fulmer." It exhibits staining and creasing from being rolled for storage.
