A 1953 Bristol 403, registration number ONB 447, chassis number 403/1417, engine number 100A/3136, maroon. With the introduction of the 403 in 1953, Bristol?s already impressive Grand Tourer was further improved with some important changes. The 2 litre straight six engine had a new alloy cylinder head which unleashed an extra 15bhp raising the bhp to 100. The 403 was now a genuine 100mph car and with improvements to the running gear and Alfin alloy brake drums all round the Bristol became a true gentleman?s express. This 403 was dispatched to Arnold Ltd on 5th October 1953. 1417 is fitted with the correct 100A engine, standard not remote gear change lever and Alfin brake drums. The 403 has been with the current custodian for the last nine years. During that time he has undertaken repairs and maintenance including the fitting of a new clutch, refurbishment of the brakes, carburettors cleaned and balanced, and extensive professional repairs to the outriggers, sills and boot floor with photographs of the fabrication work at all stages. We are informed that the Bristol is now structurally and mechanically sound, has good oil pressure and is running well. The tan leather interior has matching carpets and is said to also present well. 1417 with be offered for auction with a history file including approximately 170 images of the bodywork repairs contained on CD. A 1979 Reliant Scimitar GTE SE6A, registration number BPE 820T, chassis number 8M61/18204617, green. This Scimitar was purchased from Graham Walker Ltd Chester for £6,500 in 2012. It is understood that Graham Walker Ltd had undertaken an engine and suspension rebuild as well as improving the interior. On completion of the work the owner was unable to pay so the car was retained and sold by Graham Walker Ltd. Work to the interior included retrimming the upholstery in green leather, replacing the headlining with Oxford cloth and fitting new carpets. This manual overdrive Reliant has been well maintained since and the vendor informs us that this has resulted in a good driving car. The Scimitar is fitted with a full stainless steel exhaust system and will be offered for auction with its bill of sale from Graham Walker Ltd, some maintenance receipts since 2012, a workshop manual and an original sales brochure. V5C, MOT to June 2020 (now MOT exempt), tax exempt See illustrationsAll lots in this sale are sold as is and bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. A 1972 Rover P5B Coupé, registration number COX 950K, chassis number 845068860, engine number 84017664, silver birch over Arden green. Introduced in 1969, the P5B featured the new Buick 3.5 litre V8 engine in the svelte coupé and saloon body styles. They found favour with government ministers, the business elite and even had royal patronage. As a coupé version COX 950K is one of the most sort after examples with its contrasting colour lowered roofline, sculpted rear seats and Rostyle wheels. COX 950K was originally supplied by main Rover dealers Colliers, Abbey Road Garage Ltd. Erdington, Birmingham, to its first owners, CH Brown & Sons Ltd, Birmingham, for the princely sum of £2,836.80 including optional extras of a heated rear window and two tone paint (original bill of sale on file). Brown & Sons would retain the Rover for eighteen years having all maintenance and servicing carried out by Colliers (receipts on file). Since then there have been four other recorded keepers including our our vendor. Presented in arguably the best colour combination of silver birch over Arden green with a saddle tan leather interior, COX 950K is said by our vendor to be running and driving but is now in need of some TLC to bring the car up to its former glory having seen little recent use. The Rover will be offered for auction with a vast history file contained within two ring files with the original sales invoice, maintenance receipts, previous MOTs, magazine articles, original owners manual and workshop manual. V5C to follow, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations All lots in this sale are sold as is and bidders must satisfy themselves as to the provenance, condition, age, completeness and originality prior to bidding. A 1956 MG A Roadster 1500, registration number 901 EKX, Chariot red.The all new MG A was launched at the 1955 Frankfurt Motor Show, featuring the beautifully steamlined body and B Series engine. Walker, George The Costume of Yorkshire in 1814. A Series of Forty-One Facsimiles of Original Drawings by George Walker. Leeds: Richard Jackson, 1885. Folio, full parchment gilt; frontis. and 40 colour plates on Japan paper; extra-illus., seemingly without guiding principle, with engravings and similar on pre- and post-lims (inc. verso of frontis., foot of title, and around the explanation of plates, though none obvious on main text block or plates). Limited ed., this no. 15 of 600, first 100 with plates on Japan paper, others on plate paper. Text in English and French. A fascinating view of a mostly lost Yorkshire, with the Milk Boy and the Whalebone Scrapers amongst militia regiments and Line Swinglers. This is not only a costume book however. It also features ancient traditions (such as Riding the Stang) and a picture of Murray and Blenkinsop's steam engine, which predated Stephenson. The additional prints seem mostly unconnected with Yorkshire costume, though some do depict foreign dress and custom.

ESTC T135774 (with signature 'b' under the gap after 'PAUL'); Wellcome II, p. 451. This is an unauthorised edition, edited by Paul Dawson, and without 'All Carefully Examined and Corrected by Mr Desaguliers' on the title-page. When Desaguliers became aware of the book he approached the booksellers but found that two-thirds of the imprint had already been sold. They promised to insert into all remaining copies a preface that Desaguliers would write, together with a substantial errata. This copy appears to have all the errata corrected in the text. Primarily of interest as a textbook on Newtonian physics, the first issue appeared with the title A System of Experimental Philosophy .
