VAT)Condition Report: Generally good, no engraving, date letter rubbed on outside but clear to interior of lid. One back foot (RHS as you look at it) has been pushed/squashed in and so is uneven. There is a tiny dent/scratch close to the other back foot. The thumbpiece is very slightly misshapen, but this can only be seen in bright light.

A CARTIER ART DECO 9CT GOLD CIRCULAR COMPACT, London 1945, the concentric circle engine turned cover centred by a ruby and diamond cluster, hinged and opening to reveal a mirrored (detached) interior, 2 1/2" diameter, 61.9g gross (Illustrated) (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT)Condition Report: Exterior is good, no engraving, cluster is 8mm diameter, nice colour ruby, diamonds a little mismatched with some inclusions. Hinge and thumb piece good. Clear marks to interior on base and cover, maker's mark JC to base only. The mirror (probably not original as it is badly cut) is detached but present with chips and losses, weight includes the cluster and small amount of red seal (?) but not the gilt metal inner ring. Also with probably original material mesh powder cover. The inner 'clip' does not hold this particular mirror in place (it is probably too thick) but the clip itself fits without the mirror.
