1996 Ford Escort RS2000 Transmission: manualMileage:94459The Mk. V Escort RS2000 was launched in November 1990. Ford had big plans for this to be a worthy successor to the Mk. I and Mk. II Escorts, launching the RS2000 into its own one make motorsport series. The events covered rally stages and race circuits around the UK but lack of commitment from Ford brought the series to a close after two years of running. It was proven over time that the RS2000²s all new I4 engine was a hard package to tune, works cars had engines developed by Mountune Race engines in Essex, UK. The last development of the Mk. V/VI RS2000 was the Escort Kit car for Formula 2 rally championships where is won the FIA F2 British rally championship in 1996. As a road car the Mk. V/VI RS2000 has proven itself to many owners to be a fantastic package and very underrated a future classic in the making with true motorsport pedigree. This 1995 three door manual RS2000 is described as original and unmolested but for a stainless steel exhaust used purely as the originals are no longer available. Presented in white with velour trim and bucket seats it presents very well indeed. Owned and cherished by numerous RSOC members, the car is in lovely condition throughout. A two-wheel drive example, this car is also described as rust free, those who fondly remember the 90's Escorts will testify to the fact this is quite a find and the recent 12 months MoT test certificate backs up this statement. The car boasts just six previous keepers, 150bhp and a top speed of 129mph combined with a 0-60 time of 8.2 seconds.

1986 Porsche 911 Targa 3.2 Transmission: manualMileage:73548The Porsche 911 is a luxury two-door sports coupé with a distinctive design, rear engine and independent rear suspension; an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. It has undergone continuous development although the basic concept has remained virtually unchanged. Throughout its lifetime, the 911 has been modified by private teams and by the factory itself for racing, rallying and other forms of automotive competition. It is among the most successful competition cars ever. In the mid-1970s, normally aspirated 911 Carrera RSRs won major world championship sports car races such as Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring and Nürburgring, even against prototypes. The 911 derived 935 Turbo also won the coveted 24 Hours Le Mans in 1979. At the 1999 international poll for the award of Car of the Century, the 911 came fifth. It is one of two in the top five that has remained continuously in production (the original Beetle remained in production until 2003) and was until 1998, the most successful surviving application of the air cooled, horizontally opposed rear-engine layout. This delightfully handsome Porsche 911 Targa was originally registered on 1st August 1986. The white coachwork on this galvanised body 911 is exquisite with excellent panel gaps and a splendid paint finish. The blue leather trim appears to be original and has a delightful patina. The 3164cc six-cylinder fuel injected engine runs extremely well, this is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and we are advised this Porsche drives with no known faults. Complemented by a rear whale fin and colour co-ordinated wheels, this really is an eye-catching car. Over a three-year period and with the help of a retired mechanic, the previous owner recommissioned this Porsche with a 'no expense spared' attitude and with great attention to detail. The net result is a Porsche 911 Targa of the highest quality. The current owner purchased this car in July 2018 and has kept it to the same high standard having it regularly service and maintained by Brookspeed Porsche, Eastleigh, Hampshire with the last service being carried out in May of this year. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 9th April 2024 and a file containing invoices and old MoT's after 2014. Demand for these air-cooled Porsches remains strong with examples as good as this hard to come by.

1999 Marcos Mantaray 4.6 Transmission: manualMileage:14149Marcos was originally founded in 1959 by BRDC member and racer, Jem Marsh and engineer, Frank Costin. The latter had experience building wooden aeroplanes and he put this knowledge to good use in early Marcos cars with the extensive use of plywood as part of their chassis. Various changes of ownership and physical location took place over the ensuing decades and various models came and went, all known for their combination of simplicity and high performance. In the late 1990's their mainstream product was the 'Mantis' which was offered with a potent Rover V8 engine, similar to the TVR's of the day. This model eventually 'morphed' in to the much improved and prettier 'Mantaray', with the re-styled bonnet from the Mantara GTS and with a new shape rear-end. Mechanically the car was identical to the Mantara. It was offered with 4.0 and 4.6 litre Rover V8 as well as the 2.0 litre, and 2.0 litre turbo Rover Tomcat engines. Only 11 were made with the 4.0 litre, and seven with the 4.6 litre engine. Total factory production was 26, plus one car in chassis/body component form.Being one of only seven built with the potent 4.6 litre Rover V8 engine, this pretty Mantaray is an incredibly rare car. Owned by the vendor since 2005, the car has been well cared for in his tenure and presents incredibly well. He purchased it from well-known Porsche specialist, Paul Stephens who had been using it as his personal car. The car's history file contains the original order documentation showing the car to be one of the seven 4.6 litre V8 cars as well as including receipts from Marcos Heritage and an original sales brochure. The vendor had the car re-chipped by Power Engineering in Uxbridge with a 'sensible' tune which reportedly produced a potent 250bhp at the wheels! The car was serviced by Marcos Heritage in 2022 where the adjustable wishbones and newly replaced shock absorbers were all set up to factory specifications. A larger fan has been fitted to replace the smaller twin system and in 2022 the car also benefitted from a replacement fuel system. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and is only now selling due to lack of use. Supplied with a V5C registration document, original handbook, sales brochure, original order form, various receipts and a spare set of Team Dynamics wheels. An incredibly rare and unique piece of British motoring history that is a far rarer alternative to the more common TVR. This potent vehicle turns heads wherever it goes.

2005 Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG Transmission: automaticMileage:44025The C55 signified a return to AMG's V8 roots, after barely a three-year flirtation with a supercharged V6. AMG found 8,100 homes for the C32, but the AMG engineers seemed much happier now that there was a serious, big-capacity, naturally aspirated 5.4 litre V8 powering the meatiest C-Class and the badge is there to, well, to ensure the owners don't forget. It is not the performance, AMG claimed 5.2 seconds to 62mph for both C55 and C32, or even the transformation to a deep, wonderfully muscular exhaust note, but the makeover in the dynamics that stood the new sports saloon apart. The C55 marked a small, but perceptible, shift towards a sharper, more sporting focus, that set it closer to the M3 than any previous AMG hot rod C-Class.This example of this brute of a car is presented in silver with a black leather interior and comes with electric heated front seats, sunroof, air conditioning with climate control. Also accompanying the car is its original service book showing frequent servicing at almost yearly intervals from 31st June 2005 to October 2019. The car has also benefitted recently from a new radiator, new spark plugs, a brake fluid change and a change of engine and gearbox oil. With the values of the earlier Cosworth-inspired super sports Mercedes rocketing well into six figures, this pure-blood AMG super saloon in the lightweight C-Class bodyshell is already a collectible Mercedes AMG hot-rod, with blistering performance and that oh-so-inspiring and famous AMG V8 exhaust note.

1994 Jaguar XJR Transmission: manualMileage:103755The first XJ was launched in 1968 and the designation has been used for successive Jaguar flagship models since then. The original model was the last Jaguar saloon to have had the input of Sir William Lyons, the company's founder. A number of incarnations of this extremely robust and admired saloon appeared over the years finishing up in September 1997 with the X300 saloon. The top of the range model in the line-up was the XJR. This model was the first car from the Coventry manufacturer to feature a supercharged 4.0 litre engine. The impact on sales for Jaguar was dramatic with the Midlands company enjoying one of the most successful sales periods in its history.Originally registered on 18th November 1994 this Jaguar XJR is fitted with a manual gearbox and as such, is a very exciting car to drive. The 3980cc straight-six engine is a good reliable unit, however the supercharged version as this is, offers brisk performance by any standards. At the time of launch Jeremy Clarkson described the Jaguar XJR as the best car in the world to drive. Finished in metallic red with Oatmeal leather interior, this XJR comes with air conditioning, heated front seats and an electronically operated sunroof. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 5th April 2024, this Jaguar XJR is offered for sale without reserve.

2011 Mercedes-Benz Vito 122CDI Sport-X Brabus SWB Dualiner Transmission: automaticMileage:110317The Vito is a minivan produced by Mercedes-Benz and was available as a standard panel van for cargo called Vito, or with passenger accommodations substituted for part or all of the load area called V-Class or Viano. The first generation went on sale in 1996 and the second generation was introduced in 2004. Available in both rear and four-wheel drive configurations and three lengths, two wheelbases and a choice of four petrol and diesel engines, (as well as two specialist tuned models), coupled to either a six-speed manual or five-speed TouchShift automatic transmission.Offered here is a rare and desirable 122CDI model which boasts the largest and most powerful engine fitted to the Vito range. The W639 generation Vito had the option of the 3.0 litre, 224bhp turbo V6 diesel and was the last Mercedes-Benz van to be offered with anything over a 2.2 litre four-cylinder engine. Even rarer yet, this Jasper Blue example is the Sport-X Brabus model which boasts Brabus badging, air conditioning, full leather interior, heated front seats, satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, parking sensors, Zenon headlights, tinted glass, electric side door, removable tow bar as well as 18 Brabus alloy wheels, (including the spare). 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec Transmission: manualMileage:122857While many of the PlayStation generation may have first experienced the drama of the R34 GT-R V-Spec via Gran Turismo, it was an appearance in The Fast and the Furious franchise that led to an explosion in global popularity for the R34 GT-R. Indeed, Paul Walker drove an R34 GT-R in 2 Fast 2 Furious, enhancing its almost mythical status. But it was in the 'real' world where the R34 GT-R V-Spec would cement its reputation. Described by Evo magazine as 'a warrior-class performer' in its 2007 road test, where a standard R34 GT-R was pitted against the likes of a McLaren F1, Pagani Zonda, Ferrari F40 and Bugatti Veyron, the GT-R's reputation as a class act remained intact. The V-Spec (Victory Specification) was offered with a number of upgrades over the standard R34 and came equipped with arguably one of the most technically sophisticated four-wheel-drive/steer chassis in the world: the ATTESA E-TS Pro system. The V-Spec also benefitted from an active limited-slip differential at the rear. Along with its mechanical upgrades, the V-Spec also had firmer suspension and lower ground clearance, as well as a rear carbon fibre air diffuser. The Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec offered here was first registered in Japan in March 1999 and is presented in gleaming black with a grey interior. It comes with factory fitted radio/cassette, air conditioning and electric windows. Its fabulous six-cylinder engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and it comes with a copy of its export certificate, V5C registration document and its MoT test certificate which expires in November 2023. The car was recommissioned at marque specialist Paul Cheshire Automotive with all fluids changed along with a precautionary cambelt change. These early versions of the iconic R34 generation Nissan Skyline GT-R series are coveted by collectors because they are increasingly difficult to find, particularly in standard, unmolested form. This superb V-Spec example remains original throughout and would be a prime example to drive and enjoy.

1965 Ford Anglia 105E Rally Car Transmission: manualMileage:64960When the Anglia 105E was introduced in September 1959, Ford switched to an overhead valve engine for its smallest family saloon. The 997cc four-cylinder unit proved to be a very reliable unit and lent itself to being tuned, hence the success in Formula 3 and Formula Junior. The suspension retained the McPherson strut at the front and live rear axle however the gearbox was uprated to a four-speed unit helping the Anglia to a top speed of 73mph. Styling of the 105E was interesting with an 'open mouth' grille and reverse sloping rear window. The Anglia was an outstanding success for Ford, selling more than a million units until production ended in 1967.This Anglia is a rather special one, it is supplied with a category 1 MSA stage rally logbook, in date until 2026. The car has been a regular competitor in clubman rallying dating back as far as the 1991 Rally Britannia. Under the bonnet, you will find a pre-crossflow 1560cc engine with balanced bottom end and the vendor reports the cylinder head has seen some fettling too, but we don't know the exact specification. An aluminium radiator with high-flow fan has also been fitted. Fuel is fed through a single Weber 45 carburettor and the engine also benefits from electronic ignition. All of this power is fed through a close-ratio 'bullet box' from a Lotus Elan. The car has also been fitted with disc brakes. Handling is improved by the addition of adjustable lever arm rear dampers, a new set of 6" Lotus style steel wheels with Yokohama tyres and a 4.9:1 limited-slip-differential. In the safety department, the car has a full Safety Devices roll cage, Sparco rally seats and a fire extinguisher system. This Anglia will be an excellent way into historic rallying, at a very modest price compared with many of the cars it would compete against.

1959 Jaguar XK150 Fixedhead Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:7934This lovely right hand drive car is presented in its original colour of Old English White with red interior, on its original number plate 692 BTT. The car's originality is supported by a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, certified copy of the Devon Archives, and inspected by the London XK specialist from the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club. This example also retains its original engine, chassis and gearbox with working overdrive in original livery. Mr. Sanderson of Torquay first bought 692 BTT new in March 1959. From there it appears that the car was owned by Wing Commander Graham Rogers MBE DFC, a pilot in the RAF's 92nd squadron. From there it was exported in 1983 to Turin, Italy, where the car was awarded the numbered status of Historic Classic Car (HCC), confirming originality, and the car carries the club badges on its front badge bar today. 2001 Mercedes-Benz SL320 Transmission: automaticMileage:18970Unveiled at the March 1989 Geneva Motor Show, the new Mercedes-Benz R129 Series SL range was beautifully engineered. Based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell, its sophisticated, all-round independent suspension was augmented by a host of active and passive safety features including electronic stability control, ventilated ABS disc brakes, adaptive-damping shock absorbers, front airbags and an integral rollover bar that deployed in less than a third of a second if the car ever sensed an impending flip. Suitably cosseting, the convertible's impeccably built cabin included a fully automated power hood and featured such advancements as memory seats, electric windows/mirrors and an adjustable steering column. Yet lurking beneath all the luxury and refinement was a performance orientated sports car. This superb example is presented in maroon with cream leather interior, both of which are in excellent condition. It comes with a very high specification including the factory hardtop. Offered in fantastic condition throughout the paintwork, interior and engine bay are all in fine fettle and we are told by the vendor that the car is a joy to drive. This lovely SL320 comes with its relevant booklets including the service book, many invoices for various services, maintenance bills, old MoT test certificates and the V5C registration document. A significant amount of money has been spent on this example during its life and as such it is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner. In our opinion, the colour combination of this particular Mercedes-Benz is one of the most desirable and in this condition, with just 18,970 miles on the odometer it must make it one of the best available.

1965 Morris Mini Cooper Mk. I (998cc) Transmission: manualMileage:40798This superb and largely original Morris Mini Cooper is a one owner from new example. Purchased by the vendor as a 21st birthday present to himself on 9th June 1965 through dealer, Wadhams Holdings Limited of Chichester, where he was completing an apprenticeship at the time. The vendor chose to collect the Mini directly from the Longbridge factory production line and subsequently drove the car back to Wadhams on trade plates. With the help of Wadhams he immediately set about completing some modifications to the car which included fitting wheel arches all round and changing the colour from Tweed Grey to the Opalescent Silver Blue it wears today.Since then, the Mini has resided with the vendor at his West Sussex home covering a mere 40,798 miles from new. Dry stored for the past 33 years, this Mini is in very good and largely original condition. It has never been restored but maintained and recommissioned where necessary and as such it is showing some light patina. The paintwork is good, and the original interior has survived very well indeed. On our inspection the Cooper fired up on first turn and sounded fantastic.Fitted with its original and rare Cosmic alloy wheels, matching numbers engine and gearbox, and its original registration number 'GBP 777C'. The history file that accompanies the car includes the original sales invoice from Wadhams Holdings Limited, many old MoT test certificates including the most recent undertaken in 2017, old tax discs, various sundry bills, the original buff logbook, original workshop manual and drivers handbook, original service booklet with stamps, the vendors hand written vehicle maintenance log, current V5C registration document, and the Heritage Certificate confirming its original specification. This wonderful Mini Cooper Mk. 1987 Jaguar XJS Jubilee Edition Transmission: automaticMileage:96740The Jaguar XJS was introduced in 1975 as the successor to the E-Type and remained in production for 21 years. Producing 295bhp, the XJS was capable of 150mph and with all-round independent coil suspension, power assisted steering, and disc brakes offered excellent handling. The dramatic styling of the XJS did not go unnoticed by one of the foremost Jaguar dealers of the time Guy Salmon, who commissioned a limited Jubilee Edition. This limited Jubilee Edition featured only 25 cars and there are less than 10 of these left on the road today. 1966 Mercury Park Lane Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:10500The Mercury Park Lane is a car that was produced by the Mercury division of Ford Motor Company. The Park Lane became the flagship of the Mercury model line upon its introduction. For the 1964 model year, the Mercury Park Lane made its return as the Mercury Division expanded its model line. Coinciding with Mercury's 25th Anniversary, the Park Lane again topped the Mercury line above the Monterey and newly reintroduced Montclair. In contrast to the previous generation, the Park Lane used the same wheelbase as other Mercury lines, differing primarily in trim. For 1965, the chassis of full-sized Ford and Mercury cars were redesigned; the Mercury line was given a much more slab-sided appearance due to the popularity of the 1965 Lincoln Continental. The front grille continued to offer twin headlights in a recessed part of the grille. The retractable rear window was no longer available on the hardtop body and were now only available on the saloon bodystyle across all Mercury vehicles. This fabulous Mercury has its original Ford 'Owner card' together with the original US title documents showing the car was registered in the state of Washington. It was shipped to the UK in 2011 and is registered with the DVLA, a UK V5C registration document is supplied. In July 2015 this Park Lane Convertible was featured in 'Classic American' magazine. This is one of only 2,546 Park Lane convertibles manufactured in 1966 and this is believed to be the only one in the UK with the 410ci 'Marauder' engine which is rated at 330bhp. This is a matching numbers example, with a high degree of originality. Finished in Ford Caspian Blue with matching blue interior, this is a delightfully handsome piece of classic American design. This Mercury has class, presence, fun and elegance all under the same umbrella, an exceptional car offered at a very realistic estimate.

1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Dual Cowl Open Tourer Transmission: manualMileage:9064In 1925, the 'New Phantom', with its overhead-valve engine and four-wheel brakes was introduced. The example offered today left the factory in October 1928 for coachbuilders Arthur Mulliner to be fitted with coachwork for its first owner, Lord Hillingdon of Paulerspury, Northamptonshire. 2004 Aston Martin DB9 Transmission: automaticMileage:74028The sleek superformed aluminium body of the DB9 was initially designed by Ian Callum but had also been significantly influenced by the next director of AM design, Hendrik Fisker. It was powered by a third generation version of the now familiar 6.0 litre, V12 and has a top speed of 186mph. The DB9 was the first of what was to become a long line of production Aston Martins to use VH architecture; using superformed parts in the chassis and footwell as well as the body panels. The individual die-cast, extruded or stamped aluminium elements of the VH platform are bonded with strong adhesives and self-piercing rivets to make a lightweight but stiff backbone. The DB9 body shell weighed 25% less than that of the DB7 but has double its torsional rigidity. This process also allowed Aston Martin to retain high levels of engineering accuracy in producing a car at a higher volume, ensuring chassis performance to match the engine power. Aston Martins have always made the interior of their cars to be very special places. The fine detail of finishing is typified by the starter button made of glass and sand etched with the Aston Martin wings logo. This example is presented in dark metallic blue with cream leather interior, which is arguably the best colour combination. It comes with a service record from 2004 to 2017 where it shows servicing from various Aston Martin specialists. The present owner has had the car professionally stored whiles in his ownership and hardly driven it hence his decision to sell. These cars are a joy to drive, emitting a very throaty staccato sound from the characterful V12 engine, whether cruising on a wave of torque or wringing it out in fast road driving. This fabulous sports car can now be purchased at a fraction of its original sale price when new and still looks stunning.

2000 MG F Transmission: manualMileage:69800The MGF was the first new model designed as an MG since the MGB that was produced from 1962 to 1980. It was initially designed by the Rover Group during the period it was owned by British Aerospace and was brought to market after the business had been sold to the German car manufacturer BMW. It was powered by a 1.8 litre K-Series 16-valve engine, the basic having 118bhp while the more powerful VVC (variable valve control) had 143bhp. Steve Harper of MGA Developments produced the initial design concept in January 1991 having been inspired by the Jaguar XJR-15 and the Ferrari 250LM, before Rover's in house design team refined the concept under the leadership of Gerry McGovern. An interesting feature of the F was its Hydragas suspension, a system employing interconnected fluid and gas displacers which provided a surprisingly compliant ride, but which could be tuned to provide excellent handling characteristics. This MGF was originally registered on 15th March 2000 and has clearly been well cared for by a true enthusiast owner. Indeed, the car benefitted from uprated brakes and a stainless steel cooling system amongst significant expenditure lavished on the little 1.8 pocket rocket boasting the VVC (variable valve control) engine with 143bhp. A good history file accompanies this MGF including the book pack. Looking resplendent in the colour combination of silver with an unmarked black interior, this MGF is supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until January 2024. This is a great fun car for a modest outlay.Estimate £2,000 - £5,000

2000 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante Transmission: automaticMileage:24238Introduced in 1993 to the public, the handsome new DB7 was styled by Ian Callum, its lines were evocative of earlier Aston Martin models and elements of the DB4/5/6 could be seen in its design. Arguably one of the most attractive looking cars ever produced by Aston Martin, the DB7 was well received and attracted new customers worldwide with its traditional layout of the curvaceous two-door coupé body. At the Geneva Motor Show in 1999, Aston Martin introduced the six litre Cosworth-designed and built V12 engine, developing 420bhp and accelerating from 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds with a top speed limited to 185mph. Ian Callum enlarged the grille, added fog lamps and restyled the valances to give the car a more aggressive look. This fabulous example is presented in light metallic blue with a blue and cream leather interior, both of which are in superb condition. The car has a good service history from 2000 to 2023 including all MoT test certificates right up until the present day, although there is a letter on file to explain a slight discrepancy to the mileage on one of the MoT test certificates which was human error at the MoT station! These are rare and highly sought-after sports cars which are drop dead gorgeous and with its V12 engine providing the power, it has the performance to match!

1958 Austin Healey 100/6 Transmission: manualMileage:2693The Austin Healey 100 was built between 1953 and 1956 by the British Motor Corporation. It was developed by Donald Healey to be produced in-house by Healey's small car company in Warwick and based on Austin A90 Atlantic mechanicals. Healey built a single 'Healey Hundred' for the 1952 London Motor Show and the design impressed Leonard Lord, Managing Director of Austin, so much that a deal was struck with Healey to build it in quantity at Austin's Longbridge factory. The car was renamed the Austin Healey 100. The '100' name comes from Donald Healey who selected the name from the car's ability to reach 100mph as opposed to the Austin Healey 3000 which is named for its 3000cc engine. The final '100' models, 1956's 'BN4' (2+2 seats) and 1958's 'BN6' (two seats) were six-cylinder 100/6 cars. To make room for the occasional seats the wheelbase was increased by two inches. The bonnet had a built-in air scoop and the windscreen no longer folded down.Subject to a full mechanical and bodywork restoration this stunning example was manufactured in 1958. Presented beautifully in green coachwork with a newly trimmed interior in contrasting blood red Nappa leather with new wool carpets and new tonneau cover. Boasting a manual gearbox, this desirable four-seater is UK registered, and the original engine has been uprated and bored out to 3.0 litre, this coupled to a new wiring loom, rebuilt carburettors and a lightened and balanced flywheel, new engine mounts and clutch. The cooling has been uprated with a new aluminium radiator, new fan and new water pump. The fittings are all zinc or stainless steel in the engine bay and the car now also benefits from electronic ignition and disc brakes. A look underneath also gives an indication of the extent of the restoration for what is a great looking car. The most desirable model with the most desirable engine, this example will deliver many more years of driving pleasure with its classic good looks and strong performance this example looks fabulous.

1983 Volkswagen Mk. I Golf GTi Transmission: manualMileage:137000Launched in 1974, the Golf represented a complete break with Volkswagen tradition, yet it would prove as big a sales success as its Beetle predecessor. In GTi form the Golf has become one of the great icons of modern motoring, giving rise to an entirely new class of sporting saloon - the 'hot hatch' - in the process. First seen at the Frankfurt Show in September 1975, the GTi came with a 1.6 litre, fuel-injected, 110bhp engine which, in a car weighing a mere 846 kilos (1,861lbs) resulted in a performance package of a type not seen since the demise of the Mini Cooper 1275 S. Increasing competition from rival manufacturers prompted the introduction of a 1.8 litre GTi in 1982, and although maximum power increased only slightly to 114bhp there was a considerable improvement in mid-range acceleration. This example of the iconic Mk. I Golf GTi was first registered on 4th February 1983 and supplied with the Volkswagen Classic Parts build certificate. Presented in its original colour black with matching trim, the incredible restoration is frankly better than when the car was supplied new, and the car still holds the registration number etched into side windows. Within the history file are significant amounts of invoices for restoration work that has taken place including invoices for the parts fitted including items such as set of period correct Pirelli Cinturato tyres and matching refurbished spare wheel with brand new matching Pirelli tyre, all new braided/zinced fuel lines, top tint windscreen, full carpet set and Zircotec coated inlet manifold, new window seals, correct Sachs suspension and brakes. The engine was subject to a full rebuild including new water pump and cambelt with again photos of work completed. Inside, is a period correct Blaupunkt cassette player discretely modified for Bluetooth connectivity which complements an unmolested and as original as they come example which we are told runs, drives and performs superbly with two sets of keys and all locks on matching key. A new MoT test certificate until July 2024 is included and as our owner asked for a full comprehensive inspection at this time the lack of exhaust heat shields was highlighted which have now been sourced and fitted, other advisories were the front ball joint rubber seals could need replacing, a slight coolant weep and near side wheel bearing, subsequently both front ball joints have been replaced, new heater control valve fitted (coolant leak) and wheel bearing now adjusted so the car is perfect, befitting of a multiple show winning example.Accolades include multiple concourse and show and shine winners in recent years with trophies at events such as VW Festival, Deva Dubs and Rods, VW Breakout and Back 2 Basics for which the trophies are included in the sale. A fully restored original example that is possibly one of the best examples in the UK today.

1970 Jaguar E-Type Series II Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:89260There is little doubt that the advent of Jaguar's E-Type revolutionised the motoring world and sent the press into raptures, the penmanship that created such exquisite lines was truly gifted. The Museum of Modern Art recognised the significance of the Jaguar E-Type's design in 1996 by adding a blue roadster to its permanent design collection, one of only two cars to receive the distinction. This three-dimensional beauty, however, was complemented by a fabulous double-overhead cam, six-cylinder engine that powered this lithe, taut creature comfortably over the 100mph mark. Jaguar, rightly, were not content to sit upon their laurels however and continue to develop the E-Type with the first substantial improvements arriving in 1964 with a newly enlarged 4.2-litre powerplant increasing torque and improving driveability. In 1968 open headlights without glass covers, a wrap-around rear bumper, re-positioned and larger front indicators and taillights below the bumpers, better cooling aided by an enlarged 'mouth' and twin electric fans together with uprated brakes are all hallmarks of Series II cars. The engine is easily identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam covers to a more industrial 'ribbed' appearance. The interior and dashboard were also redesigned with rocker switches being substituted for toggle switches. The dashboard switches also lost their symmetrical layout. This very good Series II Jaguar E-Type roadster has been in long term ownership with the last owner buying the car in January 1988. According to the letter attached to the sales agreement the previous owner purchased the Jaguar in 1976 with a recorded mileage of 38,000 miles and it was fitted with a new bonnet and repainted. The letter also states that in 1980 the rear suspension, brakes and differential were overhauled, in 1984 the cylinder head and gearbox were rebuilt and in the summer of 1987 the car was completely repainted, and a new rear bumper fitted. Supplied with the car is a file of invoices and which shows that it was re-trimmed in 2007 and major engine work was carried out by marque specialists Thomas Barclay Ltd in 2013. Shortly after it was MoT'd in August 2014 the car was placed into dry storage where it has remained until very recently. At the time of being catalogued the Jaguar has been checked through and the engine started. This very good 1970 Jaguar E-Type roadster is finished in Old English White with dark blue leather and matching dark blue cloth hood. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document and a file containing past invoices, old registration documents and some old MoT test certificates. 2015 Ford Mustang 5.0 litre Transmission: manualMileage:4265The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on the Ford Falcon. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan in March 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April 1964. It was, and remains, one of the most successful product launches in automotive history, with the original Mustang selling over one million units in its first eighteen months alone. After five previous generations diluting the original 'Pony car', the sixth-generation arrived in 2013 to widespread consideration that Ford has perhaps returned the Mustang to its glory days. The sixth-generation Mustang was unveiled on December 5, 2013, in Dearborn, Michigan, New York, Los Angeles, California; Barcelona, Spain, Shanghai, China; and Sydney, Australia, with the internal project code name; S-550, with three engine options available: a newly developed 2.3 litre EcoBoost with 310bhp, a 3.7 litre 300bhp V6, or the 5.0 litre Coyote 435bhp V8 with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. A new independent rear suspension system was developed specifically for the new model. It also became the first factory version designed as a right hand drive export model to be sold overseas through Ford new car dealerships in right hand drive markets. After the much beloved TVR brand had finally been bought back by a group of business minded car enthusiasts keen to revive the once glorious TVR name, they set about designing a car that would not only start a new chapter in the brand's history, but also ensure its longevity to hopefully compete with all the other top supercar manufacturers going forward. With this in mind they hired non-other, than the great Formula 1 champion race car designer and designer of the legendary F1 race car, Gordon Murray. A design concept was agreed and a new car penned. As part of the development of the new car, TVR needed a test mule to develop their ECU settings along with a myriad of other electric necessities. The engine the new car was to run was the same as in the newly released Ford Mustang. With that a brand new V8 engined Mustang was ordered from Ford and imported to the UK for Murray to experiment with. Offered here is that car, a unique piece of British automotive history and one which is only being released from a sixty-car collection to free up space and money for an exciting new acquisition. Reported to run and drive very well and to be really quite rapid, there are interesting features still in place such as the emergency power cut red button in the cabin!Supplied with a V5C registration document along with import papers along with correspondence from Gordon Murray Automotive to the DVLA. Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of history from the return of the UK's most outlandish car brand!Guide price £18,000 - £28,000Interested parties should note that as the TVR test mule, this Mustang has been uprated and is reported to be producing around 800bhp. These figures cannot be confirmed by us, but given the car’s history and how it drives, it seems quite likely.

1973 Citroën SM 3.0 Manual Transmission: manualMileage:99392In 1961, Citroën began work on 'Project S', a sports variant of the revolutionary Citroën DS. As was customary for the firm, many running concept vehicles were developed, increasingly complex and upmarket from the DS. Citroën purchased Maserati in 1968 with the intention of harnessing Maserati's high-performance V6 engine technology to produce a true Gran Turismo car combining the sophisticated Citroën suspension. The result was the Citroën SM, first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1970 and which went on sale in France in September of that year. Factory produced cars were all left hand drive, although right hand conversions were available in the UK and Australia. The origin of the model name 'SM' is not completely clear. The 'S' may derive from the Project 'S' designation and the 'M' perhaps refers to Maserati, hence SM is often assumed to stand for 'Systeme Maserati' or 'Sports Maserati'.Exported new in 1973 to the United States of America, this SM was believed to have been owned by a French diplomat. This would explain the incredibly rare specification of it being a 3.0 litre car, but with a manual transmission. Most 3.0 litre cars were supplied with the automatic gearbox rather than the manual and most of the total production were supplied with the smaller 2.7 litre motor, (thanks to the French 'puissance fiscale' taxation which made large displacement vehicles too expensive to sell in any quantity in France). The vendor acquired the car from Octane magazine Editor David Lillywhite, who had catalogued a long and often painful restoration of the car to its now beautiful state in the magazine. Included in the car's history file along with import documentation, is a full print out of all the articles mapping David Lillywhite's restoration journey. It appears he went through every element of the car and had the car resprayed to match the restoration, as well as replacing the American specification front light clusters to the prettier Perspex covered European units. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and is now selling only as part of a downsizing of his considerable collection.Supplied with a V5C registration document along with import papers, original owner's manual and a record of the Octane magazine restoration articles. You would be hard pushed to find another manual 3.0 litre SM, let alone one which has had such love and car lavished upon it as well as having the restoration process followed by the leading classic car magazine.

1960 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Transmission: manualMileage:57955The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL is a two-door grand touring convertible with a removable hardtop that was produced between May 1955 and February 1963 with a prototype first shown at the 1954 New York Motor Show. It was sold alongside the faster, more expensive Mercedes-Benz 300 SL which it closely resembled both in its styling, engineering, detailing and fully independent suspension. However, the 190 SL did not use the 300 SL's purpose-built tubular spaceframe W198 platform but was built on a shortened monocoque R121 unit. The 190 SL was powered by a new 1.9 litre straight-four SOHC engine that developed 104bhp and was later also used in the W120, 180 and W121, 190 models. The four-cylinder engine block of the 190 SL was based on the six-cylinder engine of the 300 SL. The car was available either as a soft top convertible or with removable hardtop. This delightfully handsome Mercedes has had recent expenditure with Classic Sport Leicht, very well-respected marque specialists in Paris. Presenting supremely well in Gunmetal grey with contrasting red interior, we are informed this 190 SL drives with no known faults. This left hand drive example has been the subject of an extensive restoration and as such, is ready to be enjoyed immediately. The coachwork is in good order as is the chromework (of which there is plenty) and the interior is virtually unmarked. The 190 SL is best suited for touring, as it featured copious amounts of luggage space, despite having a convertible top. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a history folder, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a very good looking and well sorted 190 SL.

1973 Triumph TR6 Transmission: manualMileage:38477The TR6 was introduced in 1968 and was the bestseller of the TR range when production ended in July 1976. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5. The design house, Karmann Consultants, squared off the front and back ends to give the TR6 its sharpened look. Fitted with a 2.5 litre, in-line, six-cylinder engine, the TR6 could reach 60mph in just over 8.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 120mph. It featured a four-speed manual transmission with an optional overdrive unit and semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension, 15 wheels and tyres, bucket seats and a full complement of instrumentation.First registered on 14th March 1973, this original right hand drive, UK supplied example is presented in Pimento Red over a black interior and is fitted with Minilite style wheels. Acquired by the current vendor in January 2007, this TR6 was used occasionally before being treated to renovation work in 2012. The work included the removal of the engine and gearbox and fitting a new clutch and ring gear. A Triumph 2,500cc engine was sourced and fitted which benefits from carburettors as opposed to the original fuel injection system. A new and extensively improved wiring harness, new fuses and relays, and a transistorised ignition was also fitted with an accurate wiring diagram which is included in the history file. More recently, this TR has been fitted with an electric fan and Mazda MX5 seats which make for a much more user-friendly experience. The vendor reports that the TR runs and drives very well indeed using it regularly in the summer months. This Triumph comes with a sizeable history file which includes various sundry invoices, bills for maintenance work, old MoT test records and the V5C registration document. This example offers huge amounts of car for the money and can be enjoyed immediately.

1972 Volkswagen Fibrecraft Storm Beach Buggy Transmission: manualMileage:67549Starting with the Meyers Manx, the dune buggy craze took off in America in the early Sixties. Used Volkswagen Beetles were abundant in California and the surf culture was at its peak in the Sixties. The dune buggy epitomised the California lifestyle, and as the concept was so simple and so inviting, it spread quickly. This correctly registered 1972 Fibrecraft Storm, long wheelbase, four-seater is finished in a custom blue metal-flake paintwork with bespoke black interior. The drivers and passenger seats are on runners to make plenty of space for rear seat passengers. Sitting on chrome wheels with huge deep-dish rears on 295/50/15 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tyres. Believed to be one of just four known examples ever built and road registered, this beach buggy is correctly registered as a 'convertible' with the DVLA and carries historic vehicle taxation. Restored over a ten-year period from 2008 to 2018 and finished to a superb standard, this buggy is now only ever used on dry days and has covered less than 1,000 miles since completion but still retaining its original period speedometer. Some of the work undertaken included new floor pans, new front beam axle, all new brakes including front disc brakes, engine rebuild with capacity increased to 1679cc using new cylinder barrels, remote high flow oil filtration system and twin Scat carburettors. Presented with a superb history file including many invoices for all work carried out and photographs. We are informed the car starts on the button and has an MoT until May 2024, has excellent acceleration with a good cruising speed and sounds just as good as it looks.Guide Price £15,000 - £20,000

1926 Essex Super Six Transmission: manualMileage:96076In 1919, Hudson introduced the Essex brand, designed to compete with Ford and Chevrolet as opposed to the more up-scale Hudson line. The Essex found great success by offering one of the first affordable saloons and combined Hudson and Essex sales moved from seventh in the US to an amazing third by 1925. At their peak in 1929, Hudson and Essex produced a combined 300,000 cars in one year including contributions from Hudson's other factories in Belgium and England; indeed, a factory had been built in 1925 in Brentford, London. Essex pioneered low-cost closed coachwork in the US, its four-seater saloon being only slightly more expensive than the tourer in 1922 and marginally cheaper by 1925. Essex's big news for 1924 was the switch from four to six-cylinder engines. The new side valve power unit started unusually small for the US at 2.1 litres before being enlarged to 2.4 litres. Renamed 'Super Six' in 1926 the Essex gained a larger engine and four-wheel Bendix mechanical brakes the year after. Stylistically, the Essex looked broadly similar to its Hudson parent, albeit on a smaller scale. This lovely 1926 Essex Super Six was built at the UK factory in Brentford just outside London and then shipped to New Zealand, where it remained and was restored to a very high standard, fitted with artillery wheels it had indicators fitted to comply with New Zealand laws. It returned and registered to the UK in 2013. In recent years it has been fully maintained and an electric fuel pump fitted to help easy starting. Finished in cream with dark blue interior and retaining the original dark blue headlining, this very good Essex Super Six is supplied with a V5 registration document and is an ideal, reliable car for using in historic rallies such as the Gordon Bennett Irish Classic Run.

1969 MG B Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:32081The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA and was introduced as a four-cylinder roadster with a coupé added in 1965. It was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction, utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Manual windows were standard and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. The MGB's performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction with a 0-60mph time of just over 11 seconds; this was aided by the relatively light weight of the car. Handling was one of the MGB's strong points. The three-bearing 1798cc, B-Series engine produced 95bhp at 5,400rpm with the engine upgraded in October 1964 to a five-bearing crankshaft to improve reliability. The MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger at a 30mph impact. This 1969 MGB Roadster on wire wheels with overdrive was purchased by the current owner in 2001. While in her ownership the car has had very little use, from the MoT test certificate history it has only covered 2,500 miles since 2008 and only 500 miles since 2011. Even with the apparent low mileage, the car has been kept very well maintained and was restored in the original colour and the engine replaced in the 1980's. A new hood was fitted in 2000 and after being laid up for several reasons and then the pandemic, the car has been recently being recommissioned which included replacing the radiator and fitting new batteries. Finished in its original dark green with a black interior piped in white, this MG is supplied with a V5C registration document and a large file containing old registration documents, old MoT test certificates, a number of invoices going back to the 1990's and photographs taken when the restoration was carried out and the new engine fitted. This is an ideal car for someone entering the classic car market especially as it requires a little work to return it to its former glory.

1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Transmission: manualMileage:68444The Alfa Romeo Giulia (105) Sprint GT was designed by Bertone's Giorgetto Giugiaro. The car was launched in September 1963 at the newly opened Arese plant and displayed later that month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The overall styling of the Giulia was kept very simple however, the Giulia had a very distinctive Scalino 'step front' design with the bonnet sitting approximately 1/4 inch above the nose of the car. Alfa Romeo was one of the first manufacturers to put a powerful engine in a lightweight car for mainstream production, making it a forerunner to today's performance saloons. The Giulia was powered by Alfa Romeo's twin cam, all-aluminium, four cylinder 1,570cc engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. This punchy power plant ensured the car's performance was better than many sports cars of the era. Alfa Romeo took 'Touring Car' racing by storm winning the European Touring Car Championship in 1966, 1967 and 1968.This right hand drive, 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT was supplied new in the UK. At some time it was exported to Australia. The current owner purchased the car there and returned it to the UK in June 2016. After using it sparingly for a while it was put into storage where it has remained until recently. We are informed that the car is matching numbers, has a sound floor pan and is running and drivable. This is a restoration project with a lot of potential for being put back on the road or rebuilt for racing and use on the track. Finished in blue with tan and stripped material interior it is supplied with a V5C registration document and a number of spare parts including an original grille, a new bumper still in its protective wrapping and other parts. These wonderful classic Alfa Romeos are highly sought-after and a restoration project such as this is so rare to find, particularly as the car appears to be complete.

1960 Daimler SP250 Dart 'B' Specification Transmission: automaticMileage:44800The controversially styled Daimler SP250 Dart was introduced at the New York Motor Show in 1959 and had its European debut at the 1959 Earls Court Motor Show; the Dart name was soon dropped after the threat of legal action from Chrysler who had a car of that name within their Dodge division. Thereafter, this new sports car was known as the Daimler SP250. Power was provided by the 2.5 litre, Edward Turner designed, V8 that soon became revered for the smoothness in its power delivery with 140bhp on tap. Independent double wishbone front suspension at the front and half elliptical springs at the rear with a live rear axle kept the car on the road with stopping power supplied by hydraulic disc brakes on all four corners. The coachwork was constructed with glass reinforced plastic providing a tough, strong and lightweight shape that enhanced performance with exciting and non-traditional looks. The 120mph plus capability was recognised by the police and they were soon being used as high-speed chase cars. This particular example presents beautifully in ivory over a red interior and has been upgraded to full B specification. The B specification offered a vast improvement over the original cars, much improving the chassis flex of earlier cars by adding extra outriggers and extra chassis strengthening. This car has also been fitted with some fantastic upgrades to improve the driving experience, such as rack and pinion steering which vastly improves steering directness and feel. The gearbox has also been fitted with an overdrive, to improve the experience when cruising at motorway speeds. There is also evidence of an engine rebuild by Russ Carpenter and various invoices dating back to the 1980's and some invoices detailing some restoration work in and around 2010. The car has also been fitted with an aluminium radiator, to aide cooling, and telescopic rear dampers. This is an excellent example which has clearly been cherished by enthusiasts and has been improved tastefully with driving in mind. Our vendor reports the car drives exceedingly well. Interested parties should note that this car is now offered with an MoT test certificate valid until 13th July 2024.

2002 Alfa Romeo 156 3.2 V6 24V GTA Transmission: manualMileage:15000Launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2001, the Alfa Romeo 156 GTA is certainly the spiritual successor to the original GTA sold throughout the 1960s. In fact, this sports saloon is a gorgeous model designed by Centro Stile in collaboration with Stola and was hand assembled on its own production line.Today, most examples on the road surely have plenty of miles on the clock, used as family sportscars, alternatives to the BMW sports saloons of the time. This example however, first registered in 2002, had spent much of its life dry stored in a Ferrari collector's garage before being acquired by the current vendor and residing in his private collection. It has covered circa 15,000 miles from new and has been thoroughly well cared for over the years. Presented in astonishing condition, it also runs very well, and everything onboard reportedly works as it should.First registered in November 2002 and bought by the previous owner in 2004 with 8,000 miles on the clock, this Alfa was acquired by our vendor in 2022. Kept in dry storage since 2004 it has covered around 500 miles per year. Evidently in excellent condition inside there is seemingly little to no wear throughout the cabin which benefits from the full Sport Pack option fitted from the factory. Black leather upholstery adorns the seats and door cards, which are in excellent shape. We are also informed that all electronic features aboard work as they should, from the electric windows to the mirrors and the Bose Hi-Fi system. In excellent condition throughout, this Alfa is presented in its suitably Italian metallic red coachwork complemented by the Quadrifoglio and Biscione sitting proudly on the front wings and the engine bay, home to the largest of the Busso engines, is in immaculate order. Also present is the spare tyre, complete with a set of tools and a history file which includes the service booklet which has frequent stamps, the original owner's handbook, and the current V5C registration document. Despite not covering many miles and spending the majority of its life in dry storage, this example has received frequent services and MoT test certificates. Most recently, with 14,500 miles on the clock, the cambelts, water pump and radiator were all replaced. The car also has relatively new brake discs and pads. In near-immaculate condition, this Alfa Romeo 156 GTA is almost a new car. It has been dry stored since 2004 and has covered very few miles in that time. With a Busso engine ready to roar and a short-throw six-speed manual transmission, it is surely set to make its new owner very happy.

1971 Aston Martin DBS V8 Banham Convertible Transmission: manualMileage:79500With the demise of the DB6 Mk. II Volante in 1970, Aston Martin were not able to offer a convertible motorcar until 1977 with the introduction of the V8 Volante. This presented a niche in the market; there are always wealthy customers with a desire for something unique and unusual. Paul Banham and his company, Banham Conversions (Banmoco) became well known for their cabriolet conversions on Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Daimler and Jaguar cars. The company was perhaps most noted for their stylish conversion on the Jaguar XJ-S. Sadly the company went out of business in 2004.This lovely example is presented in British Racing Green with a beige leather interior and matching beige hood. Its iconic V8 engine is mated to a manual gearbox and it has electric windows and a radio. The car has a nice history going as far back as 1984, which also includes a list of the owners and the years it exchanged hands. The present owner bought this rare DBS V8 Aston Martin in 1989 and it was at that time the car was sent to Banham Motors Ltd to be converted to a soft top when the mileage was 74,978. The car was stored from 1991 to 2022 in an air conditioned unit and was recommissioned by Slark Motors in Bristol in 2023. It had its outer wheel lips power coated and the car was polished to the condition it is shown today which looks fabulous. These are rare cars indeed and with the Banham conversion and manual gearbox, this particular Aston Martin DBS is very sought-after and turns heads wherever it is driven.

1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Transmission: manualMileage:48883The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia is a classic car that holds a special place in automotive history. Produced from 1955 to 1974, it was a collaboration between the German automaker Volkswagen and the renowned Italian design firm, Carrozzeria Ghia. The Karmann Ghia combined the reliable and efficient mechanical components of the Volkswagen Beetle with a sleek, stylish body designed by Luigi Segre at Ghia. The Karmann Ghia's timeless design is characterised by its low, sweeping roofline, elegant curves, and clean lines. Its compact size and lightweight construction made it nimble on the road and a pleasure to drive. The car's rear-mounted air-cooled engine provided adequate power for its time. More than 445,000 Karmann Ghia's were produced in Germany over the car's production life, not including the Type 34 variant. Volkswagen Brazil produced a further 41,600 Type 34s for the South American market between 1962 and 1975.This lovely 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was purchased by the current owner in 1997 and was added to his collection of classic cars. During his ownership, the car hasn't been driven very far and it is believed that the mileage is correct at 49,000 miles. In 2000, he had the bodywork repaired and then repainted in the original colour scheme of orange with a black roof. The black interior is completely original and unmarked, the only fault is a small crack in the top of dashboard. Described by the owner as mechanically sound, and at the time of viewing the car for entry into this auction it started first time and ran beautifully after being stood for five weeks. This Karmann Ghia is supplied with a V5C registration document and a file that contains old invoices and a couple of old MoT test certificate predating the purchase in 1997 which also show the low mileage. The Karmann Ghia became a popular choice among car enthusiasts who sought a stylish and sporty vehicle without breaking the bank. It gained a reputation for its charm, reliability, and accessible maintenance.

1989 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible (5.3 litre) Transmission: automaticMileage:19569The Jaguar XJS was first launched in 1975, in the year that Margaret Thatcher was made the leader of the Conservative Party and petrol was 70p/gallon. The new grand tourer from Jaguar was introduced as the replacement for the iconic E-Type, which had been in production for the previous 14 years. During an astonishing build run of 21 years, 115,413 XJS units were produced by the Coventry manufacturer at their world-famous Browns Lane factory. Cars fitted with V12 engines were unusual at the time with notable exceptions coming from Italian luxury sportscar makers Lamborghini and Ferrari. The specifications of the XJS compared well with both Italian cars; it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph. The XJS model was available until production ceased in 1996.This example is one of the most desirable with the 5.3 litre V12 engine and being a convertible which is presented in Arctic Blue; one of the very best XJS colours. The car has covered a total of 70,702 miles with a speedometer change in 1998 at 51,033 miles which is documented in the service book. The car presents well, wearing its 34 years with pride. Some pitting is showing on the rear chrome bumper, but a replacement is supplied with the car. The blue soft top presents well and fits tightly. Moving inside, the grey leather seats are presenting well with minimal wear. The service book shows no fewer than 19 stamps, all from Jaguar main dealers and specialists. The stamps are present up until 2000, at 66,000 miles, translating to the fact that the car has only covered around 4,000 miles since. The Jaguar XJS has really come into its own over the past few years, with the best examples starting to set record prices, this particular example is being offered without reserve and will be an excellent modern classic for its next owner.Interested parties should note that the car is not supplied with a replacement bumper as stated in the description.

1985 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Transmission: automaticMileage:41464The Mercedes-Benz SL range of models have been in production for over sixty years metamorphosing from the Le Mans winning W194 of 1952 to the technologically advanced, aluminium bodied supercars we find today at Mercedes-Benz World. One thing however, has not changed over the years “ its fundamental character and identity as an upmarket well-built sports car. You could say the fabulous SL AMG model of today with its gullwing doors is the spiritual successor of the 1956 W121 class Gullwing. Backed by its racing pedigree the SL's glamorous reputation was further enhanced by its appearance on TV when it was rare to see an episode of Dallas or Dynasty in the 1980's without the SL making an appearance! These third-generation SL's, the R107, looked 'the part' in all their guises “ the soft top up or down or with the Pagoda hardtop in place. The simple to use, almost genius soft top mechanism when folded down out of sight under a panel gives the car its beautifully sleek, uncluttered appearance. With the hardtop in place you could be forgiven for thinking you were in a fixed head coupé. No less than eight different engine options were available ranging from the straight-six 2.8 litre to a mighty 5.6 litre V8. Although a manual gearbox was available, it is very rare and most examples are fitted with an automatic gearbox which best suits the car's designation as a grand tourer.Originally registered on 6th June 1985 this R107 Mercedes is fitted with the smooth and responsive 3.8 litre V8 Engine. It is a superb example that presents in excellent condition all round. The Pagent Red coachwork is in excellent order as is the cream leather trim. Stylish Mexican hat alloy wheels complement this delightful colour combination. Supplied with the original service books, this has clearly been a very well cared for Mercedes-Benz. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 11th April 2024, together with the original toolkit and a factory hardtop. We are advised this R107 drives as good as it looks, it is rare to see them this good.

1954 Jaguar XK120 SE Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:58682The Jaguar XK120 was manufactured between 1948 and 1954; Jaguar's first sports car since the SS100, which ceased production in 1940. The XK120 was launched in roadster form at the 1948 London Motor Show as a show car for the new Jaguar XK engine. It caused a sensation thus persuading Jaguar founder and design boss William Lyons to put the car into production. The '120' in its name referred to its 120mph top speed which made the XK120 the world's fastest standard production car at the time of its launch. It was available in two open versions; first as the roadster then also as a drophead coupé from 1953 and also as a closed, or 'fixedhead' coupé from 1951. With an alloy cylinder head and twin side-draft SU carburettors, the double overhead-cam 3.4 litre straight-six XK engine was comparatively advanced for mass-produced units of its time. This same basic design of the XK engine, later modified into 3.8 litre and 4.2 litre versions, survived late into the 1980s.This left hand drive Jaguar was originally sent to California from new and repatriated to the UK in 1964. Upon its return, this XK120 SE was put into storage for many years. A renovation was carried out paying great attention to keeping the car as original as possible. It was repainted in the original colour scheme and although the seats have been changed to more comfortable bucket type seats, the originals are included with the car, although they will need restoring. The engine was rebuilt at 55,548 miles and as this is an SE specification vehicle it has a C-Type cylinder head offering a better performance. A new Mohair hood comes with the car, along with newly refurbished sidescreens. The fastidious and knowledgeable vendor has owned this matching numbers XK120 since January 2014 and has enjoyed the car immensely. It has been thoroughly maintained, largely by himself and again the focus was always using original parts wherever possible, subject to availability. Presenting in good order throughout, this is a very nice genuine and useable example. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, a detailed history of the renovation and a good history folder. This 67 year old Jaguar has only had three previous keepers and is ready to be used and enjoyed by a new owner as much as it has been by its current owners.

1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster Transmission: automaticMileage:30762The E-Type Series III was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 litre, V12 engine, uprated brakes, and power steering as standard. Optionally, an automatic transmission, wire wheels and air conditioning were available. The brand new V12 engine produced 272bhp, had increased torque, and a 0-60mph time of less than seven seconds, which was phenomenal for the price of the car at that time, considering its competition in the marketplace. The short wheelbase fixedhead coupé body style was discontinued, with the Series III available only as a roadster or 2+2 coupé. The newly used longer wheelbase now offered significantly more room in all directions. These models were easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres and a badge on the rear that proudly proclaims it to be a V12. It is thought that only 7,990 convertibles and 7,297 fixedhead cars were produced. This particular example was originally supplied by Mamos Queensbury in Middlesex and has been in the care of our vendor's family since around 2005. The car was such a cherished possession to them that they chose to export it to Australia with them in 2007, then bring it back to the UK again in 2016. The car shows an odometer reading of less than 31,000 miles, which our vendor believes could very likely be the genuine mileage. General wear points such as pedals and seats look to be original and in very good condition. Since the cars arrival back to the UK, it has been regularly serviced by Powerbell Services and has only required general servicing, never requiring any major attention. The vendor reports that the car drives beautifully but just has not been getting the use it deserves in the past few years, so he feels it is time for someone else to enjoy the car. This car comes with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate which confirms the car retains its original engine and factory specification of white coachwork over a black interior with an automatic gearbox. The hood fits tightly, the interior is in excellent condition and the chromework has a good shine. The paintwork, quite possibly original, is showing a few minor cracks in places but the overall appearance is very good and the car wears its 50 years with pride. Offered to auction with a very sensible estimate, this E-Type could be the perfect long-legged summer cruiser.Interested parties should note that the car is supplied with a copy of the latest V5C but a new one has been applied for by the vendor.

1973 Porsche 911 Targa Transmission: manualMileage:The original Porsche 911 was introduced in autumn 1963 and manufactured until 1989. It was succeeded by a modified version, internally referred to as Porsche 964, but still sold as Porsche 911, as are current models. Mechanically, the 911 was notable for being rear engine and air-cooled and, from its inception, the 911 was modified both by private teams and the factory itself for racing, rallying and other types of competition. The original 911 series is often cited as the most successful competition car ever, especially when its variations are included; namely the powerful 911 derived 935 which won the 24 Hours Le Mans and other major sports car races outright against prototypes. Of all the derivatives and years in which the 911 was produced the 1973 Targa was perhaps one of the most sought-after, the '73 had the narrower bumpers which are especially popular and deemed more attractive on the early 911 with a style that modern 'restomod' or backdated styles such as Singer replicate allowing top down motoring with the glass back window which the model of course didn't start out with.First registered in August 1973, this 2.4 litre F-Series 911 Targa was delivered to the UK from new and has been comprehensively restored and transformed by Rindt Vehicle Design. In single ownership between 1985 and 2020, as detailed in the history file. Finished in Irish Green, full details of the bodywork and mechanical attention carried out include complete strip, prep and bare-metal repaint in Irish Green, carried out to the highest standards, new nearside floor pan and nearside 'kidney bowl', full interior strip and re-finish in Tartan, new dash trim, new inner and outer sill protectors, fresh chrome bumper mouldings, new front and rear windscreen rubbers, sun visors, new horns and fitment of new Targa roof seals. The engine was removed from the vehicle, stripped, serviced and fitted with new upper and lower cam covers, new oil pipes where required and repairs to the wiring loom undertaken. This is now a beautifully restored example of a period air-cooled Porsche that attracts attention wherever it goes, viewing is highly recommended.

1968 Sunbeam Alpine Series V Transmission: manualMileage:72500The Sunbeam Alpine was launched in 1953 as the first vehicle from Sunbeam-Talbot to bear the Sunbeam name alone, since the 1935 takeover of Sunbeam and Talbot by the Rootes Group. Ken Howes and Jeff Crompton were tasked with doing a complete redesign of the Alpine in 1956 with the goal of producing a dedicated sports car aimed principally at the US market. The Series V Alpine was produced from 1965 through to 1968, the final version having a new five-bearing, 1725cc engine with twin Zenith-Stromberg carburettors producing 93bhp.This iconic British sports car is presented in red with a grey hood and a black interior. It is powered by the lively 1725 four cylinder engine mated to a four-speed gearbox. The present owner, who has owned it since 2001, has just returned from a 600-mile round trip holiday in the UK and they confirmed that the car drove without a fault. It comes with, a workshop manual, Rootes parts list and a good history file with many invoices including old MoT test certificates dating back to 1977 (and it has new MoT test certificate which expires in June 2024 with no advisories), which does verify the present mileage of 72,500 as being correct.

1953 Kaiser Manhattan Transmission: automaticMileage:89066Newcomer Kaiser-Frazer stole a march on the Detroit establishment with the launch of an all-new range in August 1946. Styled by gifted designer Howard 'Dutch' Darrin, the '47 Kaisers featured a straight-through bumper line linking front and rear wings, a styling device setting them apart from the mainly pre-war designs of the majors, and one that would prove highly influential. Founded by shipbuilding magnate Henry J Kaiser and Graham-Paige executive Joseph Frazer, the fledgling marque prospered briefly, producing a number of novel designs that included saloon-like hatchbacks and four-door convertibles. By 1949, however, sales were in decline, and to remedy matters Darrin was re-hired. The resulting '51 Kaisers were an audacious step forward in automotive styling, featuring a low waistline and generous glass area as aspects of a look that was well ahead of its time. The mildly face-lifted Manhattan was introduced for '52 as a new top-of-the-range model, undergoing a more radical makeover for 1954, a process which, if anything, improved an already state-of-the-art design. The 226.2ci (3.7 litre) six-cylinder side-valve engine also came in for revision, gaining a McCulloch supercharger that raised maximum power from 115 to 140bhp. Sadly, this was all too late to save Kaiser-Willys, as the company had become, which ended passenger car production the following year. Before arriving to the UK in 2021 this Kaiser Manhattan was in single ownership since 2004 where it resided in Hamburg, Germany. UK registered in 2023 by its current vendor, this Kaiser is reported to run well but will require new tyres all round before road use. This Kaiser presents very well indeed, the paintwork is in very good condition as is the engine bay and the interior is excellent with its original record player still fitted to the car. A true time warp example that looks superb, this is an increasingly collectible milestone model in the history of the charismatic yet neglected marque.

1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II Transmission: automaticMileage:43327The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II is the epitome of 1970's luxury motoring. The original Silver Shadow was released in 1965 and made way for the vastly improved Shadow II in 1977, which would stay in production until 1980. The Silver Shadow II was known for its silky-smooth ride and powerful V8 engine, which provided plenty of power for the car's substantial size. It also featured a number of advanced features for its time, such as a sophisticated self-levelling suspension system and an air conditioning system which could be operated independently for the driver and front passenger. The Shadow II also gained rack and pinion steering, which vastly improved the handling over its predecessor. The interior of the Silver Shadow II was of course the height of luxury, with the finest wood veneer and leather upholstery.First registered on 4th October 1979, this wonderful Silver Shadow II presents beautifully in its Georgian Silver paint. Upholstered in dark blue leather and specified with top roll, instrument board roll, radio and underdash trim, (also in dark blue), this wonderful example of a Silver Shadow doesn't disappoint upon inspection. The paint still gleams and the interior appears unmarked. Supplied with a fabulous history file, as well as many receipts, MoT test certificates dating back to the early 1980's, many tax discs, book pack along with original service book, (stamped with 11 service stamps), is also a copy of the complete factory construction and test records outlining every step of the car's production from order to final signing off. At a cost of over £32,000 in 1979, the Rolls-Royce certainly wasn't a cheap car, the price more than that of most houses at the time, it has formed part of a large and eclectic collection over the past few years. The vendor only buys good quality cars, inspected by his own two full time mechanics before any purchase is made and he reports this car to run and drive very well, only now offered for sale to free up some space in his purpose built 60 car garage for an incoming project.Supplied with a V5C registration document, original book pack, stamped service book, original brochure, Rolls-Royce construction and test records pack, many receipts, past tax discs and MoT test certificates. Finding a Silver Shadow in such good condition and with such a lovely history file is unusual and an opportunity not to be missed.Interested parties should note that this vehicle had its speedometer replaced around 1982 at 9,053 miles. Therefore, the current reading of 43,331 miles is approximately 52,384 miles. The change of speedometer and mileage is recorded in the car’s Service Schedules and Record Book.

1965 Jaguar Mk. II (3.4 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:1904Synonymous with the swinging 60s and the hit TV Series Inspector Morse, the Mk. II was undoubtedly the most admired Saloon to emanate from Jaguar's hallowed Browns Lane factory. Featuring notably slimmer roof pillars than its Mk. I predecessor, the immortal Mk. II was as airy on the inside as it was elegant on the outside. The interior was quintessentially British with its sumptuous leather-covered seats, polished wood facia and door cappings, extensive instrumentation and impressive row of auxiliary toggle switches. These cars punched well above their weight. Equipped with either a 3.4 or 3.8 litre engine, the Jaguar was capable of sprinting to 60mph in as little as 8.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 125mph, small wonder that it was the first choice of both bank robbers and the police of the period! This iconic Jaguar model has been in its enthusiast owner's possession since February 1980. Presenting well in grey paintwork with a grey leather interior, this Jaguar Mk. II was originally registered in May 1965 and has been well cared for. The vendor informs us that he has recently rebuilt the engine, fitting new pistons, timing chain and clutch. He also tells us that this Jaguar is fitted with power steering, upgraded front brake calipers, upgraded servo, an electric fan and is a joy to drive. The front seats have been retrimmed and the back seats would benefit from some attention. Presented to auction with a file containing various bills and receipts, previous MoT test certificates and a V5C registration document, this MoT exempt Jaguar is offered without reserve.

1963 Fiat 500D Transformable Transmission: manualMileage:34000The Fiat 500 was a city car produced by the Italian manufacturer Fiat between 1957 and 1975. Launched as the Nuova 500 in July 1957, it was a cheap and practical town car. Measuring only nine feet nine inches long, and originally powered by an appropriately sized 479cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the 500 redefined the term 'small car', and is considered one of the first city cars. Fiat produced their famous 'suicide door' 500D from 1960-1965. This was also available with the trasformabile (transformable) roof and was only available in left hand drive format. This combination of fully convertible roof and suicide doors is very rare now and has become the most collectable version of the 500.This example is described by the vendor as a truly beautiful classic 1963 Fiat 500D Transformable with suicide doors and only 34,000 miles. This beautiful little icon has only had three owners from new, registered to its first keeper on 5th March 1963, then to its second on 16th November 2001 before our vendor, an Italian, purchased the car in 2017. Having been restored in Italy some 11 years ago with the same passion it was created with, it has clearly stood the test of time and is an exceptional example. The bodywork is straight, and mechanically, we are informed it starts first time. The car is UK registered with a V5C registration document. This is the most collectable and sought-after model, and the patina of the whole car is just stunning and in-line with the vehicle's provenance.

1996 BMW 840Ci Transmission: automaticMileage:104165The Klaus Kapitza-designed 8-Series (chassis code E31) was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989. Though it effectively replaced the 6-Series, it was originally intended as an additional model line - an upmarket range with superior performance and price tag to match. During its ten year reign, the 8-Series was offered in 830i, 840Ci and 850i/Ci form, of which the 840Ci was the second most popular variant. When introduced in mid-1993, it was fitted with a four litre, V8 engine mated to either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. With 282bhp on tap, this version could achieve the 0-62mph sprint in an impressive 6.9 seconds. The fully independent suspension featured struts at the front and an innovative multi-link system with coil springs on the rear. Steering was by ball and nut and braking by discs all round - vented at the front; solid at the rear. Over 1.5 billion Deutsche Marks are said to have been spent on the car's design and development. Though electronically limited to 155mph, the most powerful 8-Series models had a potential top speed of almost 190mph.Originally registered on 11th January 1996, this striking right hand drive BMW 840Ci is equipped with the optional five-speed automatic transmission. The metallic green coachwork is in excellent order, as is the light grey leather interior. A good service history accompanies N245 XGM, with the original service book showing 15 stamps and a comprehensive collection of invoices. Recent work carried out in March this year includes a full service, new front road springs, new fuel lines, new viscous coupling, new stainless steel exhaust system and a new headlining. The cost of this work was £4,737.55 and was carried out by a respected classic car specialist. Whilst the odometer currently reads 147,782 miles, the correct mileage is actually 104,165 miles. A replacement instrument cluster was fitted in September 2009 and the owner could only locate a second-hand unit showing 43,617 miles more than the original unit, this is documented in the history file. Supplied with a V5 registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 26th September 2023, we are advised by the vendor that 'she drives as good as she looks'. The 8-Series BMW is a magnificent design with superb ergonomics. A well cared for example such as this is surely one for the future.

2010 Land Rover 110 Transmission: manualMileage:62700The Land Rover Defender was launched in 1948 and, incredibly, production only finished in January 2016 after a continuous run of 67 years. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. A full-length bonnet, revised grille, plus the fitting of wheel arch extensions to cover wider-track axles are the most noticeable changes. Internally, coil springs offered a more comfortable ride and a permanent four-wheel drive system derived from the Range Rover featuring a two-speed transfer gearbox with a lockable centre differential. A modernised interior and a new series of progressively more powerful and modern engine characterised things under the skin. In August 2011, Land Rover announced an update of the Defender for the 2012 model year. By this time, Land Rover publicly acknowledged that it was working on a project to produce an all-new replacement for the Defender. This stunning 2.4 litre TDCi Land Rover Defender 110 with the desirable seven seat configuration is finished in Stornoway Grey with a black trim. First registered on 31st March 2010 and with just three former keepers the last two having been in the vendors family since 2012 passing from sibling to sibling. This example also boasts an uprated Alpine stereo and speaker system and alarm immobiliser. Recently fitted with new brakes discs and pads, new side-steps, full LED light conversion and new like for like Continental tyres. Supplied with the original owner's book pack and service book including a comprehensive service history with numerous original invoices, MoT test certificates and original toolkit. With two original keys, this is a fabulous example of the iconic, practical and robust collectors Defender.

2005 MG ZT Estate Transmission: manualMileage:63444In 2001, three years after the launch of the Rover 75, and less than a year after the demerger of MG Rover from BMW, the MG ZT and MG ZT-T were launched. During the cars' development, the models were codenamed X10 and X11, for the saloon and estate versions, respectively. The basic shape and styling of the MG ZT remained the same as for the Rover 75 but with changes to the front bumper, now with an integrated grille, and detail alterations including colour coding of the chromed waistline, a new boot lid plinth, and different alloy wheels and tyres sizes. During the first few months of 2004, MG Rover facelifted the design of the ZT and ZT-T to a less retro look, at the same time as the Rover 75 received a facelift. This didn't feature much in the way of mechanical differences to the ZT, most changes were merely aesthetic. The main changes to the car included the replacement of the twin headlamps, with a new, clear single headlamp unit. Between 2003 and 2006 the top of the ZT range, and the rarest, was rear wheel drive and powered by the Ford 4601cc V8 engine giving 300bhp, 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 155mph.This rare MG ZT is best described as a 'wolf in sheep's clothing'. A relatively unassuming vehicle from the outside, with the only visible feature being the large bore exhausts. However, start the engine and suddenly you become aware of the Ford Mustang 4.6 litre V8 under the bonnet. This is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox making this a true drivers car and one to really enjoy on the open road. Performance is put at 260bhp and 407NM of torque. The interior is trimmed in black leatherette and cloth seats with electric windows, electric mirrors and digital climate control with air conditioning. Showing just 63,444 miles on the odometer, the previous owner fitted a bespoke (and very expensive) stainless steel exhaust system with sports cats and central silencer box, coupled to an OE back-box, helping unleash a little more sound of the American dream. We are advised there is a bearing noise from the rear axle. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until October 2023, together with the original book pack and a collection of invoices. This stylish MG estate is both a capable load carrier and a truly exciting car to drive. These were built in relatively small numbers, it is thought less than 200 were manufactured, thus this could well prove to be a fine investment.Guide £6,000-£9,000
