ESTIMATE £5,500 - £7,500Chassis number 51151 - presented with a quantity of service invoices and receipts this example was first registered in London on August 1st 1971 to we understand a Bank Manager who retained the car for many years. The car is known to the Volvo Owners Club and featured in "Volvo Driver" magazine during October 2015 (print included in file) having twice belonged to the Clubs 164 Registrar and having once achieved Second in Class at Volvo Concours some years ago. Launched during August 1968, the 164 benefited from a 3L, 6 cylinder engine with Twin Zenith Stromberg carbs and was easily distinguishable from its stable mates by its impossing front grille and longer bonnet which housed its larger engine and from 1969 Leather Upholstery. The cars were manufactured between 1968 and 1975 with some 146,808 examples being produced. It would appear that there are only 35 automatic examples of Volvo 164 remaining on the DVLA website, How Many Left.HMD932K Miles:50,276 Keepers:6 Year:1971 MOT: Doors:4 Color:Maroon

The vendor states that the car has been in regular use while in his ownership and drove to the Auction with no issues. ESTIMATE £3000 - £4000Chassis number 613933 - This example of 14 Light 6 Model ASXSB as initially introduced on June 14th 1933 (ASX denoting the larger 1781cc engine) was available only in "DeLuxe" specification which gave the buyer a sliding sun roof, two windscreen wipers, rear seat folding centre arm rest, a patented "No Draft" ventilation system along with a larger power output and all at no extra charge thus making it the same price of £215 as the standard 14 model. Production ended during August 1934 by which time 23,294 had rolled of the Luton assembly lines. From our research it appears that this car was originally registered in Flintshire, North wales, as DM 8865 , a number range issued in this area until 1936. With a DVLA registration date of July 9th 1959 which is some 23 after the car was produced it is impossible to decide why this is the case although an educated guess might lead one to believe the car was laid up at the outbreak of WW2 and remained so until 1959. The original registration was removed in 2002 and the car reallocated the DAS 948 number it carries today. This example would appear to have had little or no restoration and has an excellent patina, the car drives when started and the vendor and current registered keeper states he has driven the car locally on several occasions. We have no other information regarding this example. DAS948 Miles:90,913 Keepers:. Year:1934 MOT: Doors:4 Color:Black

ESTIMATE £2000 - £3000Chassis number recorded as CA2S7707424 - this example is a re-creation based on a 1963 Mini 850 shell, the Front End number is still in place as FE586507 which relates to a build date of July / August 1963. The car does not have twin fuel tanks which became standard on the Cooper S during January 1966 the car does not have a remote gear change and does not have the Cooper S padded dash. We believe the engine to be a Cooper S unit from the period from research, but advise potential purchasers to satisfy themselves to this prior to bidding. The vendor and current registered keeper informs us he purchased the car around 1968 and initially used it for rallying events until it was laid up in the early 1970 s where it has remained until now. HPI and DVLA record the car as a1965 Austin Mini Cooper S which it is NOT the car is a recreated rally car, it is sold a non runner and as a source of spares only, potential buyers are advised to view this Lot prior to bidding. WITHOUT RESERVEChassis number 71569B - JGD426 was first registered on May 18th 1951 in Glasgow and is one of two Albion FT521 s built by a local coachbuilder for the City of Glasgow Police, as a Black Mariah Prisoner Transport Vehicle. This vehicle has an infamous claim to fame for taking some of Scotlands most notorious criminals on their last short journey to the Gallows, one such was PETER MANUAL, an American born notorious SCOTTISH SERIAL KILLER who was convicted of murdering a total of seven people across Lanarkshire between January 1956 and his arrest in January 1958. During the course of Police investigations Peter Manual was to anonymously send Christmas and Birthday cards to the Detective leading the inquiry "to keep him on his toes". As he went to the gallows Peter Manuals last words were alleged to be "turn up the radio and I will go quietly". He was the third to last person to be hanged in Scotland and was transported to the Gallows at Barlinnie for execution by Prison Hangman Harry Allen on July 11th 1958. The story has recently been the subject of the three part ITV crime drama "IN PLAIN SIGHT". JGD426 has also appeared on film, featuring in the 2008 Scottish adventure comedy "STONE OF DESTINY" the fascinating true story of a real life Scottish Robin Hood. College student Ian Hamilton was a dedicated nationalist who deeply resented England s subjugation of Scotland. With the help of three fellow students in 1950 Hamilton managed to reignite Scottish national pride with a daring raid on the very heart of England. On a day to day basis JGD426 was used as regular transport for prisoners travelling between Barlinnie and Glasgow Sheriff Court and for security purposes was fitted with one man cells located just behind the driver. JGD426 was also to be used in the event of riots when offenders would be handcuffed to the wooden slats on the bench seats. Originally fitted with a EN272 petrol engine driven through a four speed crash gearbox, the vehicle is now fitted with a Perkins four cylinder 3.5 236 Diesel engine and fully synchronised gearbox due to the unavailability of of spares for the original units. After 11 years of sterling service Glasgow Police decided to dispose of the vehicle during 1962 at Auction and JGD426 was purchased by a Fruit and Vegetable Merchant who ultilised the vehicle around the sprawlling housing estates of Glasgow plying his wares. In recent years JGD426 was in the hands of a well respected Albion enthusiast appearing at several shows and vintage road runs. JGD426 Miles:TBC Keepers:6 Year:1951 MOT: Doors:2 Color:Blue
