This car is a V8 4.7ltr Ford Mustang GT 1966Two previous owners. The car has original mileage of only 31’795 The car came into the country in 2008.It then started its comprehensive but correct historical restoration in 2009, as can be noted by the paper work this was fully restored by one of the most well-known ford Mustang builders in the country. The late Dick Gibb of RG Auto Specialist.Dick Gibb was award winning with some of the most prestigious Ford Mustang builds carried out to this day.His cars ranged from Fast Backs to AC Cobras, Dick was one of the countries very few registered Shelby approved restores. The car was restored over the year of 2009 and completed to a very high standard for the owner. The car was intended to live out its life in Singapore but unfortunately this was not to be the case due to the countries very strict policies on engine emissions. The then owner of the vehicle wished to keep the car in storage as he was reluctant to part with the Mustang. The vehicle was kept in storage for 9 years thereafter in a Durham classic car storage facility. The Mustang was then bought by the current owner in August of 2018 and returned to Dick Gibb for a full and comprehensive health check.Due to the lack of movement etc it was found that the lifters of the vehicle had slumped and needed to be replaced. Dick being the true perfectionist went on to carry out a full and comprehensive health check and carried out the works needed, The original air-condition units have been removed from the car but stay with the vehicle for the sale for those purists wishing to re-fit. This car is a true representation of an iconic classic and one of the best Mustangs out there. 10% commision rate
1933 Austin 10/4 SaloonReg. no. AGC 564Chassis no. G10937Engine no. I6111Introduced in April 1932the 10/4 was Austin's best-selling car in the 1930s and continued in production, with upgrades, until 1947. Initially offered with the chrome radiator surround the first upgrade came in 1935 with the introduction of a cowl painted to match the body colour. The design of the car was conservative with a pressed steel body built on a ladder chassis. The engine is a 1132 cc four-cylinder side valve coupled to a 4-speed gearbox. The four-wheel brakes are cable and rod operated by pedal or by hand lever on the offside of the speed lever. For the first year only, a four-door saloon was made in two versions. The basic model cost £155 and was capable of reaching 55 miles per hour. The car on offer was first registered on 26 March 1933. Delivered new to a Mr Lewis the car then passed to his son. The vendor’s father acquired 'Agatha' in 1988 who was then inherited by his daughter in 2005. It is fitted with its original 1132 cc engine which pulls well with no nasty sounds and on start-up doesn't emit smoke. The body and paintwork appear to be original and the condition is consummate with its age and would benefit from attention. The running boards are still covered with their original rubbers embossed with the Austin logo. The blue leather interior is also original and can best be described as well used but functional. In 2012 four new tyres were fitted and the addition of modern flashing indicators, a sensible safety addition undertaken at the same time. Driven regularly until 2004 the car has been used sparingly since, with her last outing in 2019. This is an unusual opportunity to acquire a two family from new car from the early days of the 10/4, a car which of course benefits from nil rate VED and is not subject to the annual MOT. AGC 564 is offered for sale with a current V5 together with a quantity of old MOT certificates, some old tax discs, various Austin 10 Club magazines, a 6-volt manual, workshop manuals and an Owners Help Manual.
1983 Mini MayfairReg. no. A566 SEUChassis no. SAXXL251N20174683Engine no. 99H997P0139458Introduced in 1959 the iconic Mini needs no introduction. Designed by Sir Alec Issigonis the car was manufactured at Longbridge and Cowley and marketed by BMC under both the Austin and Morris names until 1969 when Mini became a marque in its own right. In the 1980's the marque reverted back to the Austin name. This particular example was purchased new in Gloucester, registered in October 1983, and was kept by that owner for seven years. In 1990 a lady acquired the car and kept it until she could no longer drive in 2017, and then it passed to her nephew. The car is presented for sale in excellent condition. Still with its original 998cc engine coupled to a 4-speed manual gear box there are a raft of old MOT certificates backing up the indicated mileage of just over 45,000 miles. The bodywork appears unmarked having had a respray, in the original brown, in the last two years. At the same time both the A panels and nearside sill were replaced. In 2019 the engine underwent a lot of remedial work to facilitate an unleaded head with bills on file for nearly £1,000. The interior is beige cloth and the seats don’t have any rips or repairs. Also installed is what appears to be the original radio. This is a good example of a Mini Mayfair that would be hard to beat, having always been garaged and cared for. It should be noted that the car was salvaged at some point, when a dent to door, caused in an accident, meant the cost of repairs was more than the value of the car at that time. No other damage occurred in that accident. The vendor has reluctantly offered it for sale due to loss of storage. The car is on the button and ready to enjoy and show. There is a current V5, a raft of MOT certificates, bills dating back to the early 1990's, the original driver’s handbook, original, but damaged, consumer guide, a Haynes manual for this model and two sets of original keys.Estimate: £4,000 – 5,000
1928 Ford Model AReg. no. BF 6272Henry Ford was, for many years, convinced that his ground-breaking Model T was the only car the world would ever need. It was indeed an excellent car – 15 million being sold in its 21-year production run, a record for a single model that stood for many years. By the mid-1920s, however, it was becoming obvious that the T’s days were numbered. Newer models from other manufacturers were now faster and easier to drive, with convenient features such as electric starters, which Henry Ford disliked, making the T seem outdated. After much pressure from both Ford’s sales staff and his son Edsel, Henry finally relented and allowed the development of a successor. The resulting design – largely Edsel’s work – was a much more conventional car, with a standard gearbox instead of the T’s epicyclic unit, and various features that by that time were commonplace on its competitors, four-wheel-brakes and an electric starter, for example. So different in concept was the new car that Ford decided to give it a clean-slate name – instead of the Model U, it was the Model A, representing just how big a step this was for the company. After nearly a year’s break in Ford production while the factories retooled for the A, the new car went on sale in December 1927. Dispelling any worries Henry might have had, the A sold extremely well, with nearly 5 million produced by the time production ended in March 1931. Model As weren’t just made in Detroit; factories in many countries turned them out, including Trafford Park in the UK. Many different body styles were available, both open and closed, with a choice of colours also on offer – another break from the legacy of the T.This 1928 Model A is a Canadian-built right-hand-drive example; due to its status as a British Dominion, Canadian-built cars were exempt from import duties in the British Empire that Detroit-built cars would be subject to, and hence many right-hand-drive As trace their origins to Canada. This car was destined for Australia; as such, it is fitted with the standard Model A 3.3 litre engine, with 40bhp, instead of the 2-litre unit that was often fitted to UK-market cars due to the RAC tax system. The car was imported from Australia in 2003 and registered with the DVLA in 2012. These 3.3 litre Model As produce excellent torque and cope well in modern traffic, with decent brakes as well. They are very reliable, and if anything does go wrong, parts are readily available from the States – few vintage cars are easier to own. This very smart A is offered with various documents relating to its importation and registration, plus an original handbook and a V5C.Estimate: £12,000 – 15,000
1922 Chevrolet 490Reg. no. NO 6474Chassis no. tbaEngine no. tbaThe Chevrolet 490 was introduced in June 1915. Priced at $490 – hence the name – it was aimed squarely at the segment of the market dominated by the Ford Model T – which at the time cost $5 more. With more conventional controls than the T, it was an easier car to drive, and this helped it achieve strong sales. Performance-wise, there was not much to choose between the cars, the Chevrolet using a 2.8 litre four-cylinder engine – notably with overhead valves – that produced 24bhp. The success of the 490 led to big profits for the company, and enabled owner Billy Durant to buy General Motors in 1921 and merge it with Chevrolet, creating the automotive industry behemoth that is still going 100 years later. By 1922, when this car was produced, Chevrolet was selling almost a quarter of a million 490s every year. This 1922 490 is an original UK-market right-hand-drive car. Seemingly modified to the ever-popular ‘speedster’ style at some point in the past, it certainly looks the part and should perform well with its lightweight coachwork. Perfect for summer jaunts through the lanes, it comes with a few old MOTs, some lovely period documentation including a catalogue, handbook and spare parts list, and a current V5C.Estimate: £10,000 – 12,000
1973 Citroen SMReg. no. OBU 635MChassis no. OOSC2211Engine no. 301983Citroen was formed in 1919 and immediately proved popular with the French populace with the introduction of its first offering the Type A 10CV. Offered ready for the road and complete with coachwork, toolkit, spare wheel, electric starter and lighting, Citroen took 16,000 orders within the first two weeks with delivery to the first customer in July 1919. After producing around 2,800 cars in 1919 production steadily rose to over 55,000 by 1924. Always looking to the future Andre Citroen had an infatuation for front wheel drive cars and the iconic Traction was introduced in 1934 and carried on in production until the 1950's in various guises. Citroen had held patents for hydraulic suspension from 1944 and these came to the fore with the introduction of the DS range and carried on into the SM range. The SM came into being as an experiment when Pierre Bercot wanted to know whether there was limit to the amount of power that could be transmitted to the front wheel drive cars. After testing DS based experimental cars up to 380 hp it was reported that Citroen had the know how to build front wheel drive cars up to any power.Maserati were approached and supplied a 2760cc, 180bhp V6 engine and the coupe coachwork was designed by Opron & Giret with customer orders taken from October 1970. Citroen produced just over 12,000 of the SM up until 1975. The SM was only ever produced with left hand drive although Citroen did sanction British Engineer and Citroen specialist, Roy Middleton, to convert just three to right hand drive. The SM offered for sale is a rolling project needing improvement mainly to the bodywork. Currently fitted with a 2.7l carburettor engine the original Maserati V6 engine is included in the sale and that has, by repute, been rebuilt with the better solid valves and is ready to be fitted back into the car. It should be noted that the original engine is turning and free but has never been started. The vendor reports that the hydraulic system has been checked over with all new parts fitted where necessary and there are no leaks from that system or the braking system. There are also bills on file for remanufacturing the radiator and re-nickelling the reflectors. The fuel tank has been refurbished and new fuel pumps fitted as well as fuel lines. The bodywork is generally sound but there are areas that need treatment prior to a respray. Some repairs have been done to the rear wings; the spats are not currently fitted but are with the vehicle. The cloth interior can best be described as saggy but functional. The car come with a current V5, is MOT exempt and attracts a nil rate VED as a Historic Vehicle. There is some history, a number of invoices for parts used as well as copies of the SM owner’s manual and volume 1 of the SM repair manual. The vehicle can be used as is, with improvements being carried out along the way.Estimate: £16,000 – 18,000
1932 Austin 10/4 SaloonReg. no. UVS 758Chassis no. G5813Engine no. GC5596Austin’s important new model for 1932, the 10 slotted into the range between the Seven and the 12, both extremely successful cars. Its introduction proved to be a wise move; the 10hp bracket came to be perhaps the most important segment of the market for the major manufacturers in the 1930s, with the likes of Morris, Hillman and Ford all providing strong competitors. Austin’s 10 was always a strong seller, with buyers recognising its durability – a trait that Austin had long been known for. Capable of 55mph – a decent performance for a car in its class in 1932 – the side-valve 1125cc 4-cylinder engine produced 21bhp and proved to be a reliable unit. Austin 10s provided low-cost transport for many thousands of people, and continue to be a popular classic, with excellent club support and good spares availability. This 10 from the first year of production is in very good condition, having been restored several years ago. The interior is excellent, with the sliding roof working as it should. New tyres and a new battery have been fitted, and the car is said to go, stop and handle well. It comes with a good history file, including some bills, an old V5 and a current V5C.Estimate: £5,000 – 6,000
1947 Austin 8 SaloonReg. no. HXR 767Chassis no. 79796Engine no. 1A-106760Austin finally replaced the venerable Seven in 1939, with the new 8 carrying over the 900cc engine from the ‘Big Seven’ but otherwise being a new design, incorporating semi-unitary construction. With 24bhp, the 8 was never going to set speed records, but that’s not what it was meant to do – in the finest Austin tradition, it was intended as dependable family transport, and in that role it performed superbly. A robust car, it proved its metal in a filmed publicity exercise in 1939, where an 8 climbed all the main Lake District passes in the course of a day; many were unpaved, and in a condition that would render them impassable to any modern family car, but the 8 performed superbly. This rugged ability attracted the armed forces during the war, and over 9000 of the special Military Tourer model were produced for the army. Civilian production was halted in 1943, and when it resumed after the war the car was mostly unchanged, bar a few cosmetic differences. By the time production ended in 1948, 56,103 had been produced. This 1947 8 was restored several years ago and remains in good condition. The excellent interior was fully retrimmed and still presents well. Said to run and drive well by the vendor, this Austin may require some minor recommissioning prior to use; it is offered with some old MOTs and a V5C.Estimate: £3,000 – 5,000
1965 Triumph TR4A IRSReg. no. CEA 936CChassis no. C7C5764ZOEngine no. C156Z68EThe TR4A was the last of the TR range to use the long-serving Standard wet-liner four-cylinder engine. Launched in 1965, it addressed the main criticism that had been levelled at the TR4 – its harsh ride. The TR4A now had independent rear suspension, a semi-trailing arm setup with coil springs and lever-arm shock absorbers. Accommodating this new arrangement made the car slightly wider and 50kg heavier than the TR4, but this was made up for by the resulting improvements in both comfort and handling, while the engine was enhanced with improved manifolds, now giving 104bhp. Cosmetically, the car now sported an ‘IRS’ badge at the rear, alluding to the new suspension, while there was also some new chrome trim, smaller bumpers and a new design of convertible top based on that of the Herald. On the interior, the dash was now covered in walnut as standard, which had been an option on the TR4.This UK-market 1965 TR4A features some of the most desirable options and accessories available for these cars. The four-speed gearbox benefits from the optional overdrive on second, third and fourth, and the car is also fitted with the desirable rear screen and ‘Surrey’ hard top – very sought-after items in the TR world. In very good mechanical condition, the engine is said to be leak-free and has just been serviced, with all ancillaries either replaced or reconditioned. The cooling system has been flushed and the hoses replaced, and there is a new battery with cut-off switch, as well as a new stainless steel sports exhaust. As far as the bodywork, paintwork and interior are concerned, the car is in fair condition, having been restored around 10 years ago. This extremely useable TR comes with a current V5C.Estimate: £16,500 – 17,000
