A SWISS 14K GOLD CASED OPEN-FACED POCKET WATCH, the gold tone dial with Roman hours framing a subsidiary seconds dial and foliate decoration, all within a band of white and yellow metal foliate decoration, the case with foliate edge decoration, the back with engine-turned surface centred by a circular cartouche, marked 14k internally along with the Swiss standard. 5cm(d) 96grams(total) with case and winding key.CONDITION: Some denting to case back, wear to suspension ring.
A YELLOW METAL CASED OPEN-FACED POCKET WATCH with Roman hours to the foliate decorated gold tone dial, the case back engine-turned with central circular cartouche engraved with initials AW, unmarked but testing as having gold content. 4cm(d); sold with an attached yellow metal locket (af), two winding keys and a yellow metal fob seal. 52grams(total)CONDITION: Some damage showing to inner case hinge.

Republic of Colombia, 6% Loan, general mortgage bond for £100, London 1824, no.2402, signed by Manuel Jose Hurtado, ornate engine turned border with Columbian coat of arms at top, black, text in English only, with coupons, slight foxing and damage to top and left edges, otherwise very fine. The Republic of Colombia was formed following independence from Spain and included the present territory of Ecuador Venezuela and Panama, but had collapsed by 1830 when Venezuela and Ecuador withdrew. The Republic of New Granada emerged (see lots 784 and 785) and lasted until 1863 with the formation of the United States of Colombia.Subject to 20% VAT on Buyer’s Premium. Issued in exchange for its share of the Colombian loans of 1822 and 1824 which were in default. Colombia gained its independence from Spain in 1819 and covered the present areas of Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Panama.
