1957 MATCHLESS G3 LS 350ccReg. no. WSL 826Frame no. A57323Engine no. 56G3LS 31754The Matchless G3 LS, along with most other British 350cc bikes of the 1950s, was never going to be anyone’s idea of a fast sports bike, but they were just what people needed and wanted in the austere post war decade, they were very strong, reliable and economical to run. Teledraulic front forks and a solid well-built frame housed the rugged overhead valve engine that used the same 93mm stroke as its 500cc counterpart. The engine was coupled to a strong four speed gearbox giving it a respectable 76mph top speed and, when ridden at a relaxed pace, it would return an excellent 85mpg. This bike appears to be in good original condition and has been in a large collection for some time. It may require some recommissioning prior to use.Comes with – a current V5C.

1949 BSA Bantam D1 RigidReg. no. JTG 488Frame no. YD1 12131 – see belowEngine no. 15190 YD – see belowThis bike was bought new by Mr Clay of Cowbridge on the 29 July 1949 and it was then sold to Mr Griffiths of Cowbridge in 1954. He had the bike for 10 years before Mr Hawking of Pontyclun bought it and kept it up until 2012 when it was sold to Mr Morris who only kept it for a month before selling it to Mr Staniforth who didn’t use the bike and sold it to the current owner in 2016. It should be noted that due to the very poor handwriting on the original buff logbook it is believed that the incorrect information has been transferred to subsequent registration documents. The frame number is YD1 12131 not YO1 12131 as per the V5C. The engine number is 15190 YD the 5 in the buff logbook looks similar to an 8 and they have transposed it as 18190 in the V5C. The buff logbook also says 98cc. Prospective buyers should ensure they have noted the above information prior to bidding.Comes with – a current V5C, an old buff logbook and an old V5.No Reserve

1972 Triumph T120R BonnevilleReg. no. WNC 13LFrame no. CG 49837Engine no. CG 49837In 1971 the Bonneville was almost a totally new bike with only the engine being carried over from 1970, and not since the engine changed to Unit construction in 1963 had such an extensive redesign taken place. While all the attention was on the new frame and running gear, the engine also had to have some necessary attention at the last minute since it wouldn't fit into the new frame. Several items were redesigned such as the cylinder bolts and the rocker covers, modifications that allowed the engine to fit, but these changes also proved beneficial in improving top end stress and eased maintenance. The matching engine and frame numbers indicate this Triumph was manufactured in March 1972 and it was first registered on the 26th January 1973. This lovely bike has been upgraded with the front forks incorporating hydraulically operated caliper and disc brakes that were an option in 1973 and standard fit 1974 on, stainless steel mudguards front and rear and Boyer Bransden electronic ignition. This bike has not been used for some time and will require the usual checks and recommissioning prior to use.Comes with – a current V5C.

Initially named the 650 Manxman for the export only market, it wasn’t released on the British market until 1962 when it was an instant success and renamed as the 650SS. The detailed workmanship on this bike looks amazing, it had a no-expense-spared total last nut-and-bolt restoration that was carried out many years ago after an accident. The owner decided to include a multitude of upgrades such as, special Grimeca 4-leading shoe front hub and brakes, highly polished vented manx-style conical rear hub, Koso electronic rev counter and speedo combined, electronic ignition, rear sets etc. to make this his perfect cafe racer.Comes with - a current V5C, original wheels, tank badges and other original parts, plus some old receipts, and MOTs.

TRIBSA ProjectReg. no. Not registeredFrame no. EB31 7800 (156/57)Engine no. T100 7549 NA (1951)The cafe racer and hybrid scene spawned many incarnations back in the 1970s when owners were able to buy parts that enabled them to match components from different manufacturers to produce individual bikes suited to their requirements. Tritons, TriBSAs and Dresdas were at the fore, each machine a bit different from the next and incorporated the desire of the knowledgeable owners to make something more exciting than the standard production machines from the factories. This TriBSA has had a lot of work completed including the frame, forks and wheels and an American spec. super rocket tank, etc.  Unable to finish the project due to illness, the late owner loosely bolted the parts together and included several boxes of major parts collected to push the project towards its conclusion.Comes with - several boxes of parts as per photographs.

1978 Moto Guzzi Le Mans SpecialReg. no. WUH 141TFrame no. VG 14234Engine no. 200891The Le Mans through all its incarnations was always its own kind of bike - both distinct and unique.  Although the 850 Le Mans was always an excellent bike on the twisty bits, it lacked that edge on the straights, hence the many companies now offering engine and handling upgrades. The owner of this bike loved sports bikes and along with all his other bikes he was never satisfied until he had upgraded them into the highest specifications possible using the very best equipment available at the time. Along with various handling and bodywork upgrades, one of the main changes made to this bike was converting the engine to 948cc Spada spec.Condition - from a deceased estate, we are told by the vendor that this bike was originally imported from South Africa in 2007 and was running very well and regularly used as the owner’s preferred mount. A huge amount of very expensive upgrade work has been carried out on this bike and it was MOT’d up until April 2019. The bike has not been used now for some time and will require recommissioning prior to use.Comes with - a history file, a current V5C and a spare fuel tank.

E2CThe Italian firm Malanca started producing bikes in Bologna in 1956, mainly using 50cc engines from other manufacturers in their own frames. In 1973 they introduced their own 125cc twin that would become the backbone for the company. Like all Italian firms, the way to get noticed is in the world of racing, and Malanca were no exception with a long history of very successful, top class, small engined racing championships under their belt. The owner describes the bike as in good overall condition with everything working as it should. The engine runs very well with a top speed of over 80mph and with a good 5-speed gearbox, it is a fast bike with good braking and handling.Comes with – a current V5C.

1956 Triumph 5T Speed TwinReg. no. TSK 244Frame no. 70157Engine no. 5T 70157Edward Turners masterpiece ‘The 1938 Speed Twin’ is said to be one of the most commercially important British motorbikes of all time. Throughout its long 28-year tenure it was continually developed, from girder to telescopic forks, streamlined headlight nacelle, alternator charging and coil ignition, rigid frame to swinging arm and sprung hubs to twin shocks etc. The engine was the parallel twin design benchmark, a design that has stayed with us to this day.The owner describes this example as in very good overall condition, has a nice patina and with everything working as it should.Comes with – a current V5C.**Catalogue amendment**Our vendor tells us that this bike may require some minor recommissioning as following the fitting of a new condenser, the machine doesn’t keep running as it should.

1966 Kawasaki W1-650Reg. no. KKH 981DFrame no. W1F-00278Engine no. W1E-0250This bike was imported from the USA in March 2016 and purchased by the current owner in November 2016 since when the bike has undergone a major mechanical restoration and was MOT’d on the 3/7/20 to ensure its roadworthiness. All new bearings and seals throughout including wheels, headstock and gearbox. New Hagon shocks; custom built exhaust system; clutch plates relined and forks hard chromed. Lots of receipts. Los 146

1989 Yamaha XTZ 750 Super TenereReg. no. F198 THYFrame no. 3LD004750Engine no. 3LD004750Late to the Paris Dakar replica party, Yamaha arrived with what would turn out to be one of the best bikes in the group. It was built around the all new five valve parallel twin that proved to be a flexible, punchy unit that certainly gave the Honda Africa Twin a run for its money. After spending its first 12 years overseas, this example was imported into the UK in 2002 from where its extensive history file starts. The bike has recently been subject to a general overhaul starting at the rear end with the brakes, tyres, wheels etc. and moving forward, the engine has been checked and the carbs cleaned. At the front end the callipers were stripped ready to be rebuilt but unfortunately the project was put on hold and not finished.  This bike appears to have been very well looked after, the paintwork and panels are in excellent condition and the owner believes that apart from a new battery, some brake caliper parts, putting the panel work and other pieces that are all present back on, there is little to do to bring this bike back to its former glory.Comes with – a current V5C, the original owner’s manual, MOT records from 2002 to 2018, some old tax discs, various receipts and the service information sheets.
