Clouston franked 1½d tied by Portsmouth cds of September 27, the aircraft left on September 29 and due to oil problems departure from Khartoum was delayed until October 2, after more engine problems the plane crashed some distance from Bulawayo, eventually the cover was reposted to England franked 1d ship tied by Johannesburg cds of October 8, signed at top 'A E Clouston', small repair at top and a few wrinkles otherwise fine and scarce, of the forty-five covers flown only four were from the 'Royal Aero Club' (Nierinck 360930C) Provenance: G.
