A Victorian silver cased pocket watch by Adam Burdess of Coventry, No. 9470, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, blued steel hands and subsidiary seconds dial, to the table roller lever escapement with oversprung compensated balance, Bosley index on silver quadrant and with diamond endstone to engraved balance with blued steel setting, contained in engine turned silver double bottomed case with cartouche to back and finely reeded edges, 50mm diameter (gross weight 106 grammes), hallmarked London 1876 and with case maker's mark "J.H." (John Harris, Norfolk Street, Coventry) Note: Adam Burdess recorded working in Coventry 1868-1880
A George IV silver cased verge pocket watch by George Yonge & Son, Strand, London, No. 8466, the engine turned dial with circular numeral cartouches inset with gold Roman numerals, gold hands and subsidiary seconds dial with Arabic numerals 15, 30, 45 and 60, to the verge escapement with fusee, plains steel balance, the engraved cock with diamond endstone and with stop lever on contrate wheel, plain cylindrical pillars, the gilt metal dust cover engraved "Geo Yonge & Son, Strand, London, No. 8466", contained in engine turned silver double bottomed case with raised reeded edges, 52mm diameter (gross weight 155 grammes), hallmarked London 1822 and with case maker's mark "W.W."
